Je prend ca en note. Vu que je suis en phase de force présentement je dit pas non.
Hello folks, last night a did a very humbling training…Pulling sumo is hard as fuck. I pulled 455 and it was harder than a 600 raw conventional. Does any conv lifter have such a big gap between their sumo versus conv? I think it will be benficial for me to increase the strength in my harmstring and keep less pressure on the low back. We just received a new honor at the gym today , Joel got a trophy for the best junior lifter pound 4 pound in the three lift , same with yves in the bench press . GOOD JOB GUYs.
Can’t wait to put big weight in my hand, sunday i’ll try to bench over 400 raw on boards, i will lower the board each 2 weeks to see how my injury respond to the increase of ROM.

WAHEY!! I think I understood that…
“It would be truly wonderful to have a visit by coach Thib to the club”?
RE: Conventional versus Sumo deadlifting…
When I first started pulling sumo about a year ago there was no way I’d pull anymore than 190. I’d pull 240kg now, and then some. In the same period of time, without training it I estimate my conventional pull has gone up 15-20kg too.

Wow your translation was…PERFECT!. I’ll try to get the sumo up . Did you did it raw? I 'll try to increase the raw sumo and hope it will aid my geared conv deadlift, it make sense?

Score. Reading the different tenses in French was always one of my stronger points. I could always speak and understand it quite well, but could never write it.
The numbers I listed are raw numbers. I actually pulled something in my hamstring attempting 240 last Friday, but judging on bar speed on the 230 I pulled, and considering I was coming in without peaking and after a heavy couple of weeks training, I’m confident I would have pulled it and more.
I pulled 260kg in a suit 7 days before tho. My carryover’s a bit on the low side. Ideally I’d be getting 30kg.
I definately think getting your raw sumo’s up will help your convo pull. Ever since I started doing sumo deadlifts I’ve felt much stronger off the floor.

I used to pull sumo during my senior year of highschool because i got stuck at a 450 conv…now my sumo only went up 15 lbs from march to july, but i began to do conventional in the summer and just smoked the sumo max like pie. Since i have been out of the lifting game for 5 months due to shoulder injuries with rugby i just got back full into PL regimens a month ago.
My deadlift is back up to near pre injury and how should I add in the sumo stance into my workouts? I only deadlift once a week and BP/squat twice a week…one day max effort and one day dynamic effort. I got a competition 24th of May and want to set up a pyramid working up to the competition. NOTE: im competing raw as in just wraps and belt…not 100% raw

God no. 20kg sumo. I’d like to get at least 30kg.
I’ve no idea what guys are getting out of their suits while pulling conventional.
Tonigh went pretty well, i did squat on 14 inch box speed was fast as hell . i will upload the vid on youtube and post the link here.
I’'l try to upload a video of me trying some sumo pull with two sets of chains…i suck ass.
squat Squat april 23 th - YouTube
deadlift Speed dead sumo - YouTube
Nice lifts. Keep up the good work, and good look bringing up that sumo.
this is fast becoming my favorite thread.
john, keep up the work with the sumo, it will get better. though i was a better sumo than conventional, i "liked pulling conventional better, and i always admired the physiques of great conventional pullers. huge lats, big traps, etc.
sorry if this is a stupid question:
so are you all deadlift/bench specialists?
as far as competition goes at least.
