Squat Injury... Suggestions?

Hey guys, I just came back from a leg workout and I think I pulled a muscle. I was doing squats and at my fourth set or so, I felt a sharp pain near my inner thigh. I think I pulled or tore my hip adductors. I could walk but I have to slightly limp. Any idea how long this will take to heal and what I should do besides R.I.C.E.? Thanks.

Definitely do your RICE.

NSAIDS as well…to keep the inflamation down, as the inflamation slows the healing process.

If the pain bothers you, I’d suggest some tiger balm.

But most importantly: DON’T stretch it while it is still sore. Leave off of that until a day after the soreness stops…and then only stretch it gently to test the waters.

Many people make injuries much worse by stretching it while it’s still injured.

Go see a chiro, and preferably one specializing in ART. Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. Sucked. It took me two months or so to be able to squat below parallel. However, keep in mind the worst thing you can do is NOT squat,if in fact it was just a pulled puscle. Let it heal up a bit and then make sure you can regain strength in the muscle and regain your FULL range of motion, by squatting.

Alright, who’s going to say “SQUATS AND MILK!” ?

I would just do R.I.C.E.

Give it a couple of days rest. And if it still bothers you after the weekend, then go see a doctor.
