Solo Workout

I started lifting about a year ago and I’m currently 6’2" 165 lbs. I haven’t had my bodyfat measured for a while but I’d guess it’s around 8-9% based on past measurements.

I’m living in a new city for the summer and I don’t have a workout partner. I’ve been trying to gain muscle mass and I was wondering if that’s possible without a partner. I have been looking at a lot of different workout programs and they all seem to require a spotter. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good solo workout routine. I’d prefer to lift 4 days a week on Tues-Thurs-Sat-Sun routine because of my busy work schedule.

Find a gym with a power rack. Problem solved. Starting Strength, Westside for Skinny Bastards, Madcow’s 5x5, and Bill Star’s 5x5 are all good programs.

Agreed. You can do just about everything you need in a power rack and more without a spotter.

Deadlifts don’t need a spot either. Do them.

Thanks for the help. I’ve been thinking about trying the Westside for Skinny Bastards for a while I’ll give it a go.
