Simple Shred Down Diet

Hey guys iv been bulking for a few months now and the time has come to diet and shred down. What are not only the best foods but easy to get or make foods out there with close to zero fats and only complex carbs?

Im 17
167 lb.
5’9
And took nothing but Whey Protein

And I work out every single day, Altough I never do Cardio witch is crucial in a diet.

I need foods that are not to expensive or hard to get.
For example Eggs. I will most likely eat eggs everyday for breakfast but what else is filling and meets my requirments?

Thanks guys and again any help is appreciated

O yeah and I forgot to add
Should I keep takeing the protein and/or should I take a Dietary Supplament like HOT-ROX or something along those lines

I’m failing to see how eggs are A). low fat, and B). high in complex carbs

Good sources for complex carbohydrates are:

* bananas
* barley
* beans
* brown rice
* chickpeas
* lentils
* nuts
* oats
* parsnips
* potatoes
* root vegetables
* sweet corn
* wholegrain cereals
* wholemeal breads
* wholemeal cereals
* wholemeal flour
* wholemeal pasta
* yams

Any particular reason for wanting to cut down?

You should keep bulking up.

Why cut out all the fat in your diet? I would much rather cut on a low carb, high fat diet than high carb, low fat. Also, I would suggest NOT doing cardio while cutting. There are numerous articles here showing much more efficient and effective ways to burn fat than cardio.

Just curious, what was your starting weight when you started “bulking”.

Agreed. Cardio burns up a lot of glycogen that detracts from your workouts if you are cutting calories. Low intensity stuff or don’t do it all, unless it’s planned in some sort of depletion model.

My starting weight was about 148 to 150

but im confused why cardio is bad? Why are all runners and such so ripped?

My starting weight was about 148 to 150
and now im about 164 to 167 on a good day
my goal is to shred down by April 7th (Spring Break)
thats why im cutting it off so early in the bulking stage.

but im confused why cardio is bad? Why are all runners and such so ripped?

So say Im in the gym and my regular weight is 100 pounds for a work out i should cut it down to 85? and do more reps? say insted of 3 sets of 12 i should do 4 of 15?

that is an elite runner. low bf%? sure.

Ripped and muscular (I’m assuming that is your goal)? no.

My wife is 5’9" and weighs the same as you. You are still small. You need to keep gaining muscle. If you are gaining too much fat while gaining, then you need to modify your diet.

Post your diet for the past three days.

What I really think you need to do is read some articles.

The only runners that are “ripped” are sprinters. Long distance runners are just skinny. I’m not trying to be rude, but at your apparent lack of knowledge, if you cut now you will lose any muscle you gained on your “bulk”.

You only gained about 15-17 lbs total. Not all of that was muscle. My ultimate advice is to again, read some articles, and get a diet plan in order and gain some muscle. There are MANY articles here that are relavent to your situation.

A “ripped” 150 is not impressive. It’s just skinny.

What do you think is a good diet plan for someone of my situation?

I’ll echo the sentiments of cueball by saying you really need to read some more articles on this site. I especially reccomend anything by Berardi.

I could tell you, but you won’t learn as much as reading several different plans outlined on this site and finding the one that fits YOU the best. Good luck!

I would much rather cut on a High protein, Medium carb and ultra low fat than any keto diet. More energy for cardio and workouts.

It all depends on what you like or dislike.
