Holy cow! Are you having to walk sideways through doors?
Only small ones ![]()
I was wondering if you were gonna end up with an icky bruise when I watched that video. And holy cow is your back getting huge! Fantastic work sir.
Fantastic work, and fantastic back, clearly still growing in your 50s, naturally, inspiring example for everyone, but particularly for me over the next decade!
Consistency and hard work are magic.
That and chilli of course ![]()
Put this on IG earlier today. This was my back 10 years ago just before my last
Half marathon and me starting in the gym . Itās safe to say it has changed a bit.
WOW! I had no idea youād made this kind of change. I guess I just assumed youād been lifting strongman forever. Crazy!
ha ha - No I have been a strongman fan for ever but it took me over 45 years to finally have a go.
Itās been fantastic watching your development over the years man. Honestly. An honor to have been able to help out early on.
But, this has been All you. All new young lifters should be sent to you for mentorship!
Perfect example of what happens when you just keep showing up, session after session, week after week, year after year.

87.5 x 3 - had at least 2 in the tank but my back was cramping - that is probably the yoke effect
These were good, happy boy.

60 x 3
Belt
100 x 3
120 x 3
130 x 3
130 x 3
Used a different bar just because that was what was in the rack. I like this bar more than the Rogue one. Still donāt like SSB squats though. Not doing a lot of work on squats as I am trying to save my back for deadlift. Will focus on squat again after my comp.
Lower back still feeling those yoke walks.
Leg ext

Heavy ugly ass reps. Quality

These felt light today, that is a good sign.
Overall a really good session. Back is still fried from the yoke on Saturday but pressing was very good.
Mate, without your guidance and slow progressive programming I would have been pissing in the wind . Itās been damn good to do this together, your advice and programming definitely helped me stay dedicated and disciplined. Letās hope the next 10 years are just as good.
Back is looking THICK Simo! ![]()
I showed your back pictures to my boys today. I wanted them to see what hard work can do. They were both quite impressed.
If it only makes them do a little bit of hard work I will be very happy.
My oldestās eyes got a bit wide when I showed him your recent picture. Lol. He is looking to do super squats this summer so it should be interesting to see where things go. Heās been focusing all of his energy towards running for the last 4 years. He wants to get big now. Iām excited.
He will likely see some immediate changes as his training and diet change toward his new goal. They is to have him focus on small improvements and little goals over time. If he has been running for 4 years he should already have developed a great mindset for training discipline. Excited to see how he goes.
He already has a pretty good ability to push past the point when his brain tells him to stop. Iām excited to see what he can do.
Wed 1 April - week 5
Axle deadlift
60 x 3
100 x 3
Straps

180 x 3. Max
These were ok considering how beat up I am from yoke
Dumbell shoulder press
25 x 3 sets - 12, 12, 12 (close to failure on last rep)
Good pump work.
Pull downs
55 - 10, 10,
Good pump
Dumbbell Rolling tricep ext
20 - 15, 13, 12
Arms were tight after these. I always think of Kenny Patterson when I do these and visualise him doing them on the floor with massive dumbells at Westside. (I am sure @T3hPwnisher and @wiseman83 will know what Iām talking about)
Deadlift was hard and dirty today. Happy with the effort but would have like a little more strength. The rest of the session was just good old accessory work.
Deadlift
Trained outside end enjoyed a little sunshine. Stone to shoulder - 90KG (200 lbs)
I havenāt done these for a while, so was just practicing the movement. 7 reps done in 10 mins.
First time using this stone and it was a little slippery on that pick. My right wrist is still sore from the slam ball to shoulder work I did a few weeks ago. These didnāt make it worse but I could feel the pain on the pick.
Happy with how this went, a few more practice session over the next 2 weeks and this should improve.
