I am starting a new log for 2026. I will link my old logs here for anyone who want to look back at the history and to make it easier for me to find.

I will copy the first week of training sessions over from the old log into here and then let the fun and games begin

Monday 12 Jan - reload week

Log press - 1 clean press 3 times
37 x 9
47 x 9
57 x 9
62 x 9
62 x 7. Just ran out of puff.
These were ok considering they were the first log press in months. Left bicep sore after. Deff something wrong there.

Squat
Bar x 10
60 x 5 x 3 sets
Easy deep smooth reps

Leg ext
60 x 3 sets
8, 8, 8

Inc dumb bench
3 sets
30 x 8

Db row -
3 sets
30 x 8

Overall happy with. Didn’t go too silly but still expect to be sore. Left bicep is a big worry, just letting my drink bottle to my mouth was pretty painful by the end if the session. Hopefully I can keep training log without wrecking it.

Wednesday 14 Jan - reload week

Trap bar deadlift
Bar x 10
60 x 5
100 x 5
140 x 5
180 x 5
Nice easy reps

Saxon bar - 3 inches wide
Some singles
Bar 20KG
Bar + 10 per side - 40KG
Bar + 15 per side - 50KG
Bar + 17.5 per side - 55KG

Barbell behind neck press seated
Bar x 8
40 x 8 x 3 sets
Left shoulder a bit tight, may be the bicep.

Pull ups
3 sets

  • 3 reps
  • Wide bar, thumbless grip, left forearm was angry. Fk you arm, shut up and get on with it

Tricep ext - rolling
3 sets
10Kg - 15, 15, 15
Kept these light, arm seemed ok.

Abs

Friday 16 Jan - reload week

Log press - from rack - doubles

37 x 2
57 x 2
57 x 2
67 x 2
72 x 2
77 x 2
77 x 1 - lost balance on the first one and that messed up the set up for the second. not a strength issue.
57 x 5 - nice easy reps
Happy with these today.

Leg press
120 x 3 sets - 8, 8, 8

Lever squat
3 sets
40 x 10
80 x 10
80 x 10
Really focusing on a big stretch at the bottom. Great quad pump

Dips - BW
3 sets - 10, 10, 10
But shaky but it’s been a while so they will come good quickly. Solid chest burn.

Hammer row
3 sets
40 x 10, 10, 10

Saxon - 1 rep
40 x 3
50 x 2
60 x 1
62.5 x 0.5

reading this as i chow down on 500gm of mixed vegetables with my lunch LOL.

Bicep has has enough.

110 x 8 x sets (242 lbs) 1 2
Used the belt tonight. I wouldn’t usually use it until over 120 but wanted to keep everything tight. These didn’t feel super light.

Bicep is being angry, these were hard work

Sorry that bicep is still giving you grief though. :frowning:

I would think the clean part of the log press is the culprit. You might be able to do some rack SOHPs to give some relief and still get your pressing in and let the bicep heal.

Yer I did some pressing with the log out of the rack on Friday. Wanted to give the clean a go today just to test it. Looks like I will be switching to all presses from the rack until the comp and then just wing it on the day.
