Thanks, Squats with the Rogue SSB were rough, getting a bit of left knee pain at the moment. It doesn’t really effect my strength it is just there.
Me too. Just proper old school strong blokes figuring out how to move heavy awkward stuff. So good.
Strongman conditioning
Today was slam ball to shoulder with the 55KG (121 lbs) ball. 15 min EMOM.
These were surprisingly hard especially the pick. The ball is quite small and dense and really hard to get your hands under or squeeze when you pick it. I haven’t done these for a long while and they moved pretty good.
I have done heavier yokes but never really done the marches with weight. I would assume however the opposite.
Similar to @Cretin78 I also have a wobbly bolted yoke in training. Makes for hard training but great performance in comp as the more sturdy yokes are so much easier to handle and I usually have a significantly better time in comp.

My wrist was sore from the ball to shoulder yesterday, so dropped the weight and went for reps. Crazy pump
Pull downs - narrow neutral grip
50 x 10 x 3 sets -
Dropped the weight here too, changed to an underhand (chin up) grip to take strain off my wrist .
called it a day here.
I didn’t elaborate on this much yesterday but will do so now. Those slam ball picks are really hard on the wrists because the ball is so small and its not really round that you cant get your hands under it like a stone and its too hard to dig into like a sangbag. To pick it up you have to squeeze with your forearms more like an atlas stone but its such a small diameter you really end up just squeezing your wrists into the ball. On the second last rep I did something to my right whist during the pick and it was sore as hell for the last rep. Iced it after training but it was still sore all evening and the next day. Just doing something simple like wiping my bum on the toilet was a pain rating of about 6/10.
The funny thing is, and I’ve spoken about this before with @T3hPwnisher. This pain is just part of what I call ‘wondering pain’ and ‘wandering pain’. Wandering because the pain just moves around my body, and wondering because I wake up wondering what will hurt today.
So today (Thursday), the pain in my right wrist is mostly gone, but also the pain in my left bicep that I have been focused on for weeks has also disappeared. Seems like I am lucky enough to only have one part of my body hurt at a time. Lucky old me.
Wandering and Wondering pains are a real thing
.
I wonder what will wander around each morning. My wife wonders why I continue to allow this to continue
.
I wonder again how anyone would want it any other way ![]()

84.5 x 1 - OK

131.8 x 3 x 3. (290 lbs)
Dropped the weight a bit here. Left knee bothering me and I don’t need a bigger squat for my next comp. Going to switch back to standard back squat next week. I don’t really love this rogue bar.

@BethB @wiseman83 that’s like one level below Spicy ![]()
Whats the issue with the bar?
Nothing really, I just don’t love SSB squats and the rogue bar is heavy. LOL

DB Tricep ext rippling
17.5 x 3 sets - 15, 15, 15

Pretty good session. I would have liked a little more from deadlift but I will live to fight another day.
Do you buy these locally and pick them up? Or get them shipped? (If so, I hope you have a jacked FedEx driver). I’d love to add that type of beast to my own home gym.
I found it on facebook marketplace and went and picked it up myself. I put an old tire in the back of the car and just picked it up and loaded it in. You can buy stones from Standorsubmit down here and they will freight them to your house but its pretty expensive. I think they crate them and the delivey truck usually has a tail lift and a pallet truck to move them.
I was pretty lucky to find this one as they don’t come up for sale very often.
