Damn I lost track of this again. Been a busy week. I’ll log speed squat day later.

My brother got married last weekend, my son turned 11 yesterday, and I just accepted a new job - changing companies for the first time in 10 years. Unfortunately, we have to move… after building the house we really wanted. I’m a little nervous to tell the kids, after last year’s events, so I’ll be stretching this out.

Congrats!! Happy Birthday to your son!!
Good luck with the move.

Yeah, not ideal. But a house is just walls; a home is made of family

Doesn’t make moving any easier…lol

Don’t bring practicality into this!
At least this time the company will do it for me

Congrats on all counts mate. Any chance you could rent the house ? Would you move back to that town later in life ?

Thanks!

Not after the way I left! Just kidding.

I hope not. I’ve done that before, and it’s a pain. Here we’d have to go through some zoning issues, too, so I think I’d really rather just get out. We learned a lot through the building process. Maybe we’ll find something close enough to what we want that we’d just have to renovate a room or something. We’ll see. I definitely learned not to have the family in temporary housing that long again! So we’ll find the next place before getting rid of this one; that will also let the kids move schools over winter break so they’re less “new”. I’m still hesitant to tell them, because I don’t want them to stop committing to their activities and relationships now.

“Destiny is All!”

You’re a Last Kingdom fan, or is that some other reference with which I’m not familiar?

So I lay on the bench, but scoot real high so my head is hanging off. It helps keep my chest high.

My favorite show/ character. When I was driving a lot, I listened to all the books. Masterful work!

Agreed!

I also like Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles. His version of the Arthurian legends blew my mind.
