Oh geez, I didn’t realize you were using a Rogue one. Yeah: terrible design on that. Their 10" log is awful as well. They went through some rough early design phases.
Hope the sleeves stretch some for you! The compression is far more than single ply/rehbands, but the security of them has been a game changer for me.
I’ll report back after I get my next leg day in with the buffalo bar - I really like that one (with a heel wedge). I really think I’m probably just not used to them. Do you wear them the whole session? I think you said you did, which is obviously how I do the neoprene sleeves.

Yeah, it’s what I liked about these: they’re the only double ply knee sleeves I can do that with, because the cuffs are more elastic than normal. Traditional double plys will cut off circulation after too long. The WORST is wearing them for a high rep event in strongman, because you practically get compartment syndrome when it’s over and it’s a RUSH to take them off.
Yeah I’d tried it before and hated it, and I guess I just wasn’t really thinking about it this time because this gym doesn’t have another option to compare it week to week. I might gift them a Titan bar (Elite knockoff) so I can use it.
Thanks @BethB. So far, she’s feeling fine. I read this is a fast one, though. She’s probably been my favorite dog over the years. I think it’s also just another “I’m getting older” milestone, because I don’t think I really want another one after this.
I have stuck with the Burn stuff this week. It’s a fun bit of a break/ redirection. Today was all leg stuff. It definitely reminded/ exposed how weak my right knee is. I have a very difficult time getting in and out of deeper flexion on that side - it just locks up; I assume it’s arthritis. Maybe focusing more on unilateral work will improve it or maybe it just is what it is.
Our Alsatian is going to be four in August. I retire in 2028. He will be six. Being an Alsatian that probably gives him 4-6 years. My wife keeps telling me he is our last dog. I am trying to wrap my head around that. Although, I might just surprise her with a little bundle of fur that is all ears and tail when the time comes. (Let’s not forget those needle sharp teeth!)
It’s a big decision whether or not to get another puppy. Kind of empty without one, but you’re signing on for a lot of years with one!
Huge congrats on the coming-up-fast retirement plan!
I’ve done those Burn camps every day this week. I like them! It’s like old high school conditioning stuff. I freaking suck now, so I’m improving fast, so it’s fun in a way lifting isn’t anymore. I think I’ll try introducing some older school low volume lifting alongside this stuff either next week or the week after… really feel like a high schooler.
I’m about to get back on the road for a couple long ones, but really trying to keep it more reasonable from here.
