Silver and Steel

Nope. I wish; never should have sold that place! Hindsight is 20/20.
We’re a mile or so away, though, so right back in the same schools. We’ll pretend this little hiccup never happened.

Same part of town, same school, it sounds like got pretty close!

Definitely!

I appreciate you asking, by the way, and everyone kind of helping me get over my whining. I’ve said it before, but this is a great community.

This made me both proud and happy, but in doing so it almost had this effect

cause apparently that is also how I roll. LOL

Haha!
Adopting me now?

You seem like you would be much lower maintenance than my 9 yr old terror of a son. Maybe not adopting but happy to accept you as my brother from another mother.

I’ll take it!
I’m extraordinarily high maintenance, though; the fridge has to constantly be restocked

Thats never a problem at my house and if it starts to get low, the supermarket is a 3 min walk from my house and I have trained my daughter to do emergency shop runs for me. LOL

The girls are the helpful ones! That’s pretty funny. Where we used to live, the grocery store was walking distance and had a bar! My wife and I would go with plans to have a drink and pick up something to cook for dinner… we’d have a couple and come home with frozen pizzas.

Come to think of it, hopefully that’s in walking distance of the new place.

One of my “chores” back in MS/HS was to do the shopping and plan meals.

I got “upgraded” to chef during the pandemic and my parents would ask me what’s for dinner, even though I ate separate meals

Another grind today, team. ‘Twas pull day.

  1. C/S Row
Neutral grip. This is the low row plate-loaded machine. I wanted the one that’s more like a t-bar, but it was in use.
    1pps/10
    2pps/6
    3pps/8 x 3

  2. DB Row
Tried like 5 different rows that didn’t feel good before I settled here. Wandered all over the gym.
    70/6
    100/10 x 2
    100/10 + 75/6

  3. Stretch Pulldown
    Another plate-loaded machine
    1pps/6
    2pps/6
    3pps/8 x 3

  4. Rear Delt Machine
    50/10
    70/15 + 10

  5. Hammer Curl
    22/12 + 3 partials x 3

  6. DB Concentration Preacher Curl
    22/7
    22/8
    22/6 + 17/6

Rushed home to mow and finish packing. Pretty sure the first buyer is going to fall through… it’s always exciting!

In other news, I did the lemon drop Surge today. It’s amazing! I really really liked it, maybe because it’s so hot out.

I’m rolling hard without rest days on a really difficult program while moving… this stuff is really proving itself.

Today is moving day, team of heroes!
But it’s also freaking leg day…

ME Lower

  1. Lying Leg Curl
    30/15
    65/6
    80/4
    110/4
    125/8 x 3

  2. Front Squat
I thought these were going to end up being light, because I tend to be ok at them. I wanted them to be light, because I am beat the poop up right now. They didn’t feel light.
    45/8
    135/6
    185/5
    225/5
    245/5
    265/5

  3. Speed DL
    Trap Bar
    225/1
    295/1 x 15 w/ 10s rests

  4. Zercher Carry
Didn’t have equipment/ space for this, so I put a bar in a rack and did step-ups with it. It seemed to work fine. I was really just trying to keep my upper back and core tight, which is the goal here so it was fine.
    135/20 x 3

  5. Leg Extension
    Couple warm-ups
3 x 10 with 10 partials on the last set

  6. RDL
    Slow reps
    70/8 x 3
A little light, but every dumbbell was seriously taken. I focused on hard stretches and finishing with a big booty flex at the top - I’m setting up for my next career.

  7. Decline Sit-up
    3 x 13

  8. Seated Calf
    4 x 15

I’ll get back to you all from OH!

Hey TfP! Congrats on the new home purchase. I do not enjoy moving, but once you’re settled in it sounds like it will be well worth it.
Now let’s see how my attempt at staying caught up in training logs plays out….

Thanks man! I’ve done far too much of it these last couple years. I really hope to stay put this time

That is no joke for front squat mate. Very good job

Thank you sir. For some reason, I’m much better at front squats. When I’m a little more on my game I can go heavier.
Another bonus: that’s a true test of the Surge underpants safety factor! Gatorade makes that level of pressure very dicy.

Nothing like that extra stress or a shart to make you brace harder :joy:

Is these little challenges that make life worth living! Especially when you know there’s still an hour of workout left where you have to live with the uncertainty. I obviously thrive in ambiguity; this is a resume bullet now

We’re all up in OH, team!
Ended up taking two days off so we could have friends over and meet neighbors and swim all day yesterday.
My wife accidentally ran the washing machine with the drain hose disconnected, so we had our first water disaster in the new house… you always got to get that first one out of the way. I think I saved it before any real damage; I might have to replace a couple light fixtures in the basement at worst.
I mowed and the mower gave up halfway through, so now the lawn has a mullet until it stops raining and I can finish.
All is well.

Today was DE Squats. Soon I’ll get back into World Gym, which was my favorite.

  2. DE Squats
Couldn’t find a box today, so I held a quick pause at the bottom of these. The first few sets I was moving really quick; none of the sets were grinds.
