Shut-Up About Your Abs!

I really want to help people over there. it wasn’t all for the sake of controversy.
I posted it under the title " Wanna bulk? read this." I didn’t call it “shut up about your abs” i know that would set people off. I’ve never seen DC discussed once over there before, so i doubt the knowledge of him is that prevalent over there.

Dude, the christians also wanted to “help people”… And then happily proceeded to hammer their beliefs down people’s throats and kill/torture those who said “I don’t wanna.”

The information on how to get big is out there if people want to read it. The bb.com teen section isn’t exactly known for it’s many members dedicated to getting huge as fast as possible. Wrong audience, ok? If you would get in there and make a post “Yo, I think it’s beneficial to … if one wanted to get huge fast.” Then that would be ok. That way, you take responsibility for that post and if people don’t like it then someone else won’t have to deal with that.
Posting someone else’s opinion(out of context and with no other info attached) somewhere where most people probably don’t want to hear it isn’t going to help people much, as noble as your intentions are.

That is an unjust comparison. The christians, saviours of the people, have saved billions of people from eternal damnation.

Look, that’s trolling.

Wanting to help people and supplying them with information from someone successful in their field is not.

And then you using religion as a comparison is not a feat to make for further controversy? I think it is.

At least quote a more appropriate post (“the fastest way to get a natural 180 lb bodybuilder to a lean 250” or something like that).

I’d like to read this, is that the title?

No, I was just remembering the theme off the top of my head. I’ll see if I can find it for you…
No super-scientific method or anything lol, you must have come across that when reading IM at some point.

Really? Did I make up the things I was referring to? Blaming modern-day Christianity for what hypocritical morons of previous ages did? Stating that those were the only guys doing such things? I don’t think so.

Where is the controversy then?

It might just piss people off when they keep getting quoted out of context and then end up having to deal with a bunch of idiots spamming their site in response, for the umpteenth time. All great fun to watch, as long as it’s not you.

You try dieting down to 6% and see how much muscle you drop.

Why would anyone do that? That sounds like an absolutely terrible idea…

Because…he wants to?

That’s fine for him, but then why is he telling people that want to get big and strong to do that? That’s just silly.

So what you’re saying is that you are the undesignated spokesman for other people. Cool thanks. Next time I’m worried about my post being taken out of context I hope somoene who doesn’t represent me also speaks up for me because that’s much better…

It’s not you either so get over yourself since you are not the person being quoted. Not the person doing the quoted, and not the person who’d have to shield off and correct any false information that comes back to you for the quote…

Are you paying attention to this thread at all? No one went and found “98V” and told him to do things differently. That didn’t stop him from telling me that I AM doing things wrong in a thread that had nothing to do with him.

Why would you stand up for bullshit like that?

From a 50 year old natural with the best body i have yet to see:

"I call the winter the dark season. I would just lift and eat and feel my muscles grow with a surge of energy with every big meal. You have tell yourself you will get your abs back. Once you acquire enough strenght you can continue to leverage mass gains during your ripping cycle.

Simply maintain the protien levels to the new mass. The guys who have figured this shit out are the ones who make the best progress each year. Shoot for about an inch of body mass each year and you will be fine."

I should probably add to this, an emphasis on WHO is cutting. The point of this quote was that if you want to get massive and brutally strong, you can’t be afraid of losing your 6 pack. I don’t know anyone that got over 230 while staying at 6%bf.

If that isn’t your goal, that is fine and I understand it. I completely understand that some people don’t want to be that big. If it wasn’t for leverages and a lack of lower weight classes in my sport, I personally wouldn’t see any need to weigh over 200lbs.

Chicks dig it, and it’s easier to buy clothes, but that isn’t for everyone. If it doesn’t apply to you, then that’s fine. But this is turning from a good discussion into a pissing match.

Saying “you’re 275lbs at 16%bf, and that is the same as me at 250lbs and 12%” is just stupid. I think that in context, we can all agree with the original quote.

six pack abs are made by smart nutrition, not starving your body

i have better ab definition at a BW of 225 lbs 1.5 years later than i did at 185 lbs

What does what you just wrote have to do with this discussion?

What does what you just wrote have to do with being 6% body fat at all times?

Man I knew some assholes would jump into this godly thread and attempt to rip it apart with their ab preaching.

The Abs are like any other muscle. If you aren’t working it you won’t develop it and it really doesn’t matter what your diet is like. I used to work my abs like mad in high school because coach had us doing a ton of crunches. i still ate like crap but because of all the work i put in on my abs they were still visible.

It wasn’t your ab work that made your abs visible.

So is there like a formula for this sort of weight gain anyway?

Like say you want to weigh 200lbs at 10% BF how much would you want to weight before you start dieting down? 230?
