Was doing my usual neck flexion curls with a 90 lb dumbbell for 12 reps. Got through the first set fine. The second set went fine as well until I was done. Then I noticed pain when I tried to move my neck diagonally down to the left.
I hope this goes away because I couldnt continue my training and had a hard time driving home.
Taking advil now but if I try to move it to the bottom left the pain is intense. I’ll probably have to take at least a week off and then stop doing any neck work for a couple months.
This sucks. I entered a world of pain.
It was like this but with a 90 lb dumbbell and no tricep involvement…
Alright the good news is that I feel significantly better today. I will probably work out tommorrow.
What the fuck is wrong with you.
Why are you doing weighted neck flexion exercises again?
Do you not like your cervical spine?
I think you should talk to a doctor… but a psychology kind of doctor.

X2
The cervical spine is an area you want to create stability for and not place under a huge load. Opinions vary, but IMO if you are going to do dynamic neck exercises, you do not overload it in that sense. I am a big fan of neck stability holds against a swiss ball.

i did it because i was pencil necked and it was ruining my physique. I made solid gains, 2 inches, from a
14.75 neck to 16.75 or 17 depending on where i tape.
I think for flexion curls i shouldnt train them anymore because even if my
sternocleidomastoid can handle it, the disks are too weak to support it.
I’ll continue doing extension with the harness once i heal up until i get around 85 lbs but that should be a while since im only at 55
