She Say figured out the movie thing…this should be 413.4 lb deadlift
She Say is really smart now…here’s the tops in all three lifts…3rd attempt on squat and dead…second on bench…failed at 319 on the bench for my 3rd attempt…
those plates look little and mean to me (i’m used to pretty colored bumpers which look positively jumbo in comparison).
very nice lifts!
Squat was nice and deep, great dead and strong bench, very nice meet
Really beauteous form for maximal lifts.
Great job.

BLUSH thanks…I like you too…
Hey…do you use the word beauteous a lot? We were driving through the Florida Keys last year and She Say had had one too many and kept saying how beauteous everything was…the boys got on her saying it wasn’t a real word so she had to look it up to prove it was.
Great shoes! but I’m seriously confused by the picture.
I just can’t work out the camera angle. The shoe is upside down, but the bottles in the right hand corner are upright! If I turn it around the shoe looks right, but the bottles are upside down. All I can think is that you are wearing them on your arm? but, the limb looks too thick to be a wrist…oh I don’t know.

The limb is thick as those are my knee braces…I have them pushed down over my calf as they make my knee sweaty.
Camera is to the side of the shoe…the bottles are on a shelf underneath a table…they’re lying on their sides…so…hope that helps…
I have the same shoes. Except purple accent. They add tons of weight to your squat.

OMG I just saw your shoes. I am SO JEALOUS! And they come in purple trim, too!!?
It really does suck living upsidedown sometimes ![]()
So you’re doing 531 + BBB at the end for each lift? What cycle are you on?

Not sure…to be honest my training has been sketchy at best up until about 3 weeks ago…I’ve been doing 5/3/1 for about a year I guess, but I give up on it after a month or so because it just feels…wrong…know what I mean? It’s like Saturday I repped 325 lbs on deadlifts 12 times…this was 1 more rep than I did last time which is like…“yeah”…but…I’m a hundred pounds below my max weight and 175 lbs below where I hope to be at the end of the year…

I did 531 for about a year and a half.
You dont need to follow the 531 progression to the letter. You have to keep in mind that it is designed to work with anyone who lifts, even beginners. If the weight is too light then just move ahead a couple of months in the program. If you get to a point that you cant hit the numbers then do a reset so that you fall in to a solid rep range.
The other option is to add some heavier sets after the 531 work set. But the first option worked better for me.
wasn’t there an adapted version of 5/3/1 for powerlifting that involved more testing of lower reps than the original? is that what you mean about the program just feeling wrong? maybe the powerlifting version would feel better?
i suppose you have toe socks? i don’t have toe socks ![]()

Didn’t mean to be flip…I would say I’m actually only on my 2nd real cycle…up until now I was skipping the 4th day of overhead presses and not doing the bodybuilding assistance work when I was feeling lazy. I like the program a lot in reality.
