Russian Strength Skill Manual Labour Day

Hi CT,
Just a quick question on the Manual Labor Day, for the 3 lifts, it reads to use a weight between 65%-70%, is that correct?

From your readings you have advocated 80% being the minimum load to stimulate rapid strength gains. What’s the benefit, if correct, of using the 65%-70% for strength skill on the Manual Labor Day?

Not rapid gains.

80% is where you have full fast twitch fibers recruitment.

The manual labor day is not a pure strength method. It’s more to accumulate a lot of work while having a systemic stress on the body. t’s not the approach you want to look for if you want to build a lot of muscle. And while it will help you get stronger in the long run, it’s not a rapid strength gain approach either.

It’s to build technical efficiency and work capacity.
