Hit 345x5 belted yesterday and I probably had one more grinder left in the tank.
I’ll probably be confident enough to cowboy up and take 4 plates for a ride in about a months time.

After snatches, clean grip dead-lifts and push-presses I did 130kg(Olympic Style) for 2 yesterday at a BW of about 175-177lb…PR!!!..I tried 130kg about a month back and didn’t even get it for a single so I was really happy. I felt the bend of the bar on my back for the first time, it was AWESOME!!
I’m pretty sure I can do 300lbs no problem but at the moment the back squat is not my priority as I want to get stronger in the clean and jerk and the snatch.
Just my 2 cents for a squat cycle. This has been done with many of athletes with smaller frames that need to build up the lower back and hips and learn technique. Volume helps this tremendously at the beginning. Then shift to ME work for the last few weeks…
Week 1- 6x8 @ 50% + (add weight every set) Rest 1.5 minutes
Week 2- 7x8 @ 50% + (add weight every set) Rest 1.5 minutes
Week 3- 8x8 @ 50% + (add weight every set) Rest 1.5 Minutes
Week 4- 2x8, 3x5 @ 70% plus (adding weight every set) Rest 2.5 Minutes
Week 5- 2x8, 3x5 @ 75% plus (adding weight every set) Rest 2.5 Minutes
Week 6- 1x8, 2x5, 3x3 @ 80% Plus (adding weight every set) Rest 3 Minutes
Week 7- 8,5,5,3,3,1,1,1 set your new PR!
Just me squatting 225x15 after going up to 275x4…body-weight of 178lbs.
355x4 was yesterday’s top work set. Perhaps I’ll take 365 for a big ol’ greasy triple next week!
I’m going to jump in on this as well, even though I have no idea when I’ll be testing my raw squat.
In my last session I has 285lbs for 8 reps.
FYI - My best competition raw squat is 330lbs @ 165lbs/ best training was 355lbs but at a higher body weight (close to 190lbs)
I’ve done 250x1 a couple weeks back… Did 3x10 with 200 and I try to go up each week 5/10lbs. I have a long way to go (:
Did 270x20 last week, trying 365 this week.
I hit 385 on Monday, almost there!
I’m in, I haven’t tried to max out in a couple months. I’m going to max out on Bench, Deadlift, and squat next week to see where I’m at. After next week I’m gong to start 531.
My previous maxes are 300 squat, 225 Bench and 350 deadlift. I’m sure I can lift more than that now but next week will be the true test. 100 lbs is a lot to add to any lift but it’s better to set your goals high rather than low.
I’m ceatainly willing to add some weight to my frame. I probably need to start upping the calories.
Bodywieght 170
Height 5’7"

I hit 385 a few months ago then switched gears … about a couple weeks ago I did 385 x 3 box squat … felt great
We’ll see where I’m at next week when I go for my best single … got my fingers crossed

I’m in too. 335 a couple months ago.
Wish I had a large black man yelling at me…
245 x 4, I got a ways to go. Just started squatting this summer though.
I’m on my way too. Tuesday was my second week doing squats again after some knee problems. Got 315 easily, gonna shoot for 345 this tuesday. 205 BW

Good work but every rep looked the same, like you slowed right down in the middle and then just flew up, even on the last rep, kinda weird.

Yes, it’s the olympic squat…when you are cleaning, snatching, front squatting and squatting all week, your(or at least mine) lower leg starts hurting. I was just slowing down the movement since I was doing high rep sets. When performing lower reps I tent to just use the bounce from the bottom all the way up. It’s all about being explosive for me.

400 is a big goal for me at the moment. Not that far from it, squatted 162.5kg for 4 yesterday with a belt. Bodyweight is 83kg.[/quote]
Bodyweight is the same. Did 182.5x1 yesterday morning. Probably had 190+ in me. (Cheap neoprene knee sleeves and belt.)
Below is a video of me squatting 405 down to a box. It wasn’t that hard probably could have removed the box and gone deeper or added more weight to the bar. Benn training for almost 5 months.
You can follow my training log here. My friend Matthaeus started it but he stopped coming with me so it’s just my log now. Here is the link.
