Hey guys, I’m jumping in this a bit late I know, but I maxed at 350 a couple weeks ago so figure this is the perfect thread for me…
The only problem is I’m cutting for football season (weight restricted college football league Sprint football - Wikipedia ) which will probably slow me down, but I’m still game.

I put around 50 pounds to my squat max in like 10 weeks doing 5/3/1. All my high-med rep maxes skyrocketted too. Might want to consider it for leg day.

But remember try get some kind of vid of it 
and keep us updated on your progress.
I’m using the Waterbury 10x3 program for fat loss, so it’s 10 sets of 3 with a 45 second break in between. Sheer brutality. Got 265 for all sets, which is less than it ought to be. I’m going to have to find a way to maximize my energy despite being in caloric deficit, because this is not the progress I’m looking for…
Squatted 360 lbs. tonight!! I’m hoping for 400 within the next few months but my progress has been slow (only a 10 lb. gain over 5 weeks). My problem is when i go for a max i lean fowward and get stuck like 4 inches above parallel. is this more my upper body stabilization (lats, abs) or my upper hamstrings/glutes are weak?

most guys point to the abs in this case . thats where I missed last time (375).

Tried going for 130kg(286lbs) yesterday and missed it. The last time I back squatted was over a month ago however I got a 110kg(242lbs) front-squat for a single which is a big improvement for me.

There’s a girl I know who squat more than me for a PR (365) and she’s not huge either (~140-150 pds), she has just been doing olympic lifting all her life.

maybe. he looked really young though. but even still i hate all these small guys who have huge 1RMs. when i say ‘hate’ i really mean ‘jealous’ though.
Thanks marlboroman. i think lats r also a big part of it as i just read an article about it and both of which are weak for me.

I did it. Had a shitty couple of days, was pissed as fuck, and said today I will do it.
395x2, said fuck it, and hit 400x1. All the way down, all the way up.
Now excuse me while I attempt to walk to my fridge.
Most recent max attempt - 385 , 3 months ago. Been training by pyramiding up in weights to the 6 rep range and most recently hit 345x6. Will max again in a couple weeks and post updates. Going to try for 415.
