I’ve always had naturally large quads due to being a bit of a bloater as a youngster. I went through the usual growth spurts and got taller and leaner yet my legs never seemed to get leaner, and just kept growing. I’ve played rugby for 15 years and have always done rugby specific weights as well as plenty of cardio but my legs continue to frustrate me as they look out of proportion with the rest of my body.
I know it might seem like a dull topic but I’d appreciate any feedback on how to get my quads looking smaller and leaner.
Apologies if this topic is in the wrong forum, didn’t know where else to put it!
It may be the case (does not have to be the case) that you have high estrogen and this is the cause of the quads not looking lean even though overall you’ve leaned up pretty well, if that’s the case.
Could be worth checking.
Other than that, yet further overall fat loss would be the way to get more fat off the quads. Many, many people overestimate how lean they are.
If estrogen is high and that is corrected, it’s entirely possible that fat might fairly selectively come off of the quads with time.
It seems your post has been moved to a different forum, but still not to what I would think is the most suitable one!
my max squat is currently at 210kg (462lbs). it’s not massive, but for my sport it doesn’t need to be. plus i’m a goal kicker and need to keep the elasticity in my legs.

im calling absolute bullshit on that lift.
carl hayman does 250kg. sheridan does 275kg. im assuming your either a 10 or 15. video is needed!!!
i appreciate that might be the case but i don’t want to become ultra lean all over otherwise i’ll get knocked about like a rag doll on the rugby pitch!

sorry.
appreciate you’re opinion, but i play 12. [/quote]
still id be very very very impressed to see a proper 210kg squat by a 12.
the 10 in your name, coupled with the fact you kicked made me think you played 10.
maybe if you were more interested/trained towards powerlifting i could understand the lift. but if your traininy regurlay etc for rugby i dont see that lift being feasible. sorry.

Big difference between 210 and 275. If he means like a deep power squat that’s pretty impressive, if it’s the way/depth most squat it’s not such a huge claim. Not hatin’ just statin’.
Training for 15 years and squats 210kg? Not unlikely at all.
Sure a lot of guys who play rugby don’t lift, most of the backs at my club look like football players rather than rugby players, but some do lift. Know a guy through another forum who plays 10 and rows with 140kg. It’s my first season and I’ll probably be playing wing in the 3rd’s but I can box squat to box set to just below my kneecap 180kg at 80kg.
210 is not out of the question at all, but I’d rather avoid you glyn if possible. No ideas about your main question.
