I recently had a ridiculous accident and broke my arm in two different places (ulnar and radius). This all happened this past September (2009), so it has pretty much healed, but still want to be careful. The bottom line is that I’ve lost some weight and gotten pretty out of shape. I want to get back into serious shape. can anyone recommend some exercises that I can do at home that won’t put too much strain and will get me on the right track? any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sept. '09?
Do any movements cause pain? If not buddy, do it up. If you are worried, just stay away from heavy curls/hammer curl variations.
I’ve seen people get hurt much worse than that and hop back in the gym in no time. What do you think is better for your body? Sitting on your ass and losing muscle mass? Or kicking some ass and getting some muscle on those bones?
Just don’t go 150% the first few times. Feel it out. We can’t tell you how your arm will react. But if they were just clean breaks, you will be fine.
It was definitely a clean break. There’s a little discomfort/aching and a little pain when i do push ups. mostly i’m worried that i’ll cause damage and wanted to start off easy. i wanted to get an idea of a routine i can stick to while building it up.
