Rebound, I'm Going To Be Huge!

Nice log AB. It’s good to see you posting and training again.

I might of stopped posting, but I never stopped training ;), but thanks man.

Chest (Squashed my initial plan and trained by pure instinct.)

Bench Press

135x10 (W.U.)
225x5 (W.U.)
310x3
310x2
310x1 and 1 forced rep
295x2
275x2
250x4
225x6
205x6

DB Bench (85 pound dumbells are the biggest I have)

85x6+(2 half reps)
85x6

My chest is thoroughly destroyed, fresh I could pop those 85 pound DB’s up at least 15 times. Great workout. Originally I planned on doing a few sets bench, inclines, and flies, went by instinct and got one of those best workouts for chest I’ve had in awhile. TIme to eat!!!

I just read through the whole thread. I loved your starting introduction and I admire your give-it-all, no excuses, confident attitude. I liked your essay as well. I really hope that you will be able to post regularly now as I really enjoy reading your posts. Good Luck.

Thanks Iron, plan on posting as often as I can, especially since I see people enjoy reading it.

Wow, I’m thoroughly embarassed and humbled at how much my deadlift has dropped since I stopped doing them. I vow to never stop deadlifting again, as long as health permits.

Back

Deadlifts

225x5
315x5
405x3
460x1 thought my traps were going to tear holy fuck lol.

Rows (Hard to stabilize my lower back, must be from the deads, might need to start double sessioining back days, deads in the morning, back at night hmmmmm.)

135x8
185x8
205x6
215x4

Imagine you arms and hands as only connectors to the bar and do all the pulling with your back. Mind muscle connection, it really works!!

Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns.

The weight seems light and I’m not gunna let that go to my head. I only know how much weight is on mym machine as it takes freeweights, but that apperatus weighs about 35 pounds itself as 190 on it will keep my hanging in the air unless i put something on my legs. Fuck I need to leave me ego at the door lol.

150x10
170x8
180x6
190x5

Close Grip Lat Pulldowns with a V-Bar

150x8
160 or 170x6 (My dumb-ass can’t remeber the weight…)
170x6
180x4

I’m trying all different shit, but does anyone have any good suggestions of a back workout for someone who has big and strong arms compared to his back? I mean I love my arms and they grow crazy fast, but when I train back, I want to train back, not get 2 bicep workouts in per week.

Great session though!

I hear you with the not wanting to get two bicep workouts. I have recently thrown rack pulls into my back workout and they have done wonders for my back. I see that you have deadlifts in already, they would pretty much be the same taking away a lot of the leg involvement and you would be able to use more weight.

Another thing would be to real focus on flexing the back muscles instead of just “lifting the weight.” I find that when I just lift the weight I involve my arms way too much, but when I focus on my back involvement in the movement I get much better results.

Just my thoughts

Been doing everything you mentioned besides the rack pulls cause my set up doesn’t permit them. Thanks for the input.

i use straps on the pulling things, rows and pulldowns etc… that way i can be thumbless, and just use back to pull not gripping more using my arms as hooks now, try that?

Shit lol, I forgot to mention I do use a thumbless grip as well, but maybe the straps aren’t a bad idea, I’ll look into that. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice on Benching.

But I gotta know - do you just take it easy on Shoulder day? I see you putting up beastly numbers on the Bench Press then your Shoulder days you usually hit up the 70lb dumbbells for just a few reps. Do you scale things back so you can concentrate on Bench? Are you doing an 8 second eccentric? I would expect that you’d be able to Shoulder Press 100lb Dumbbells if you had them.

Everyone always has an excuse for everything, but I don’t here. My DB shoulder pressing is an embarrassment and honestly needs to be brought up. I’ve stated before that I havent done direct shoulder work in God knows how long. My BB military press is better, but nothing to write home about. I really need to work on my shoulder because it will deffinately increase all my upper body lifts.

If I had a weak point my shoulders would be it and you just put some kindling on the fire under my ass to get my numbers up lol. I’ll tell you this much though, I’ll put money that in two months I’ll be using 85 or above pounds on the DB’s for reps, and I’ll get a vid up to prove it .

Sweet. My best is 70 for 11 rest-pause reps. I’ll be checking your log to make sure you don’t beat me to it.

Haha, you’re on.

Didnt train today, it is my rest day, but I ate so much. 22oz. steak with brocolli for lunch. 2 chicken breast 2 yams broccoli and a chicken leg for dinner. Plus four small meals in between, need to get biggggg.

Trained the shit out of my back on monday, did some triceps and delts today, I’m nice and sore haha, plan on doing biceps tommorow, legs on friday, fucking chest on sunday and then repating this nice cycle.

Went to the university of deleware this past weekend and got my dirnk and mack crazy party lots of beer and shot great time. Enjoyed seeins some of my boys that I havent seen in months, deffinatley a time for celebration.

Going to costco friday after I get paid and buying london broils and chicken breast, mixed vegetables rice and sweat potatoes, and getting a gym memebership. Wow what a week it will be.

Fuck it I’m dedicated and whats work to some is fun for others. Hope everyone is doing well, cause I am.

What is the conversion factor between the units ‘massive’ and ‘shitload’ ?

If I say shitload, and I’ll use back for this example, it would be countless sets of widegrip chins and pulldowns, 140+ pound rows, sets of deadlifts, crazy back work, thats a shitload.

Massive if I’m talking about my muscles for example biceps, my over 17 inch arms im referring too. Weight wise my 300+ pound bench presses. Stuff 85% of my max and over.

I was just shitting you, man.

Keep us updated and don’t slack or you might see a little red dot light up on your chest.

Just sayin’.

Bro abstenance or however the fuck you spell it is going alright I usually decide to drive people to give a reason to not drink. I drink though every couple of weekends as long as girls are present and have a good time. Have hit the bar with my friends from class a few times too.

I look older than I am so I dont get ided, well havent’t yet, at these places.
As for the gym, I would love to go to bev’s buts its way to far to be traveling there 5 days a week. IM gunna holler at ultimate fitness by my house.

You party on the weekends?
