Ooooo!
How much I enjoyed the straight arm pulldowns. I haven’t felt a pump in my lats like that in months. Felt nice to change something up there. Good workout today, got some good news as well. All in all, a good day… Minus the balls weather here in Toronto.

I love straight arm pulldowns. There are a few variations I’ve been meaning to try. Check out this one:
I can’t find the video, but another one I’m dying to try is do them seated on an incline bench. You face away from a high pulley and also use a rope.

Those J pulldowns, as easy as they look… They are HAAARD. The bench one has peaked my interest, I know what you’re talking about. I’ve tried it as a tricep pushing exercise but never lats. A problem I may have with that, is my arms might be too long for the full extension and the weight might hit the top of the machine first

No, I know exactly what you mean. I’m not as tall as you and even I have to play around with different pulley stations when I do pullovers or I hit the top of the machine with the weight stack. Always gives you a nice jolt in the upper body when that happens.

It’s a pain eh?
Haha, Not just a jolt but a serious scare. You don’t expect it and you pull down as hard as you can and then BANG! Then people look at you like you’re some knob trying to make as much noise as possible.
Thanks for being my number one reader!
I got a hell of a lot of views, not many replies.

I know this is Rattler’s log, but why do pullovers in a pulley station? I do them with a DB.
I’m going to assume right now that you don’t have DBs heavy enough for your massive man muscles. Dammit.

DB pullovers hurt my shoulders, with the cables it seems fine. I love the standing variant though, like I said before it gave me one of the best lat pumps I’ve had in a long time. MAYBE, he thinks the same as I. Probably not though. We shall seeee

I consider that a challenge.
You two can be my groupies!
I am also aware, that AngryVader is in fact a man.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Seinfeld reference. Stop acting young, young man.

I don’t get pain from DB pullovers, but I get a much better pump and contraction when using a pulley as there’s still tension as you bring your arms all the way down by your sides. When you do a regular pullover, the movement is pretty much over once your arms are perpendicular to the ground.
