My left quad suffered a minor blow yesterday, I’ve been treating it with ice packs and compression. The thigh has swelled up a bit but there’s no visible bruise (it’s been about 12 hours since the impact) - I’m hoping it’s not intramuscular since those bastards take longer to heal.
This hasn’t affected my range of motion, but I’ve read from some online sources that after a thigh contusion the knee should be kept flexed. Any truth behind that?

Yes. They usually wrap the knee up really tight whie you lie supine on a table. This is so ROM is not lost and it is based on the severity of the injury. It is to avoid bone forming I believe, my memory from my Sports Injury class is slightly blurry but I remember keeping the knee in flexion.
