And yeah, I DO feel full most of the time - in other words, without really watching it for the last few days, I was definitely under-eating sometimes, but didn’t feel like that at all.
Well, not really easy for me to do that, but I can do my best… Or at least force myself to eat a little more ![]()
Nothing wrong with this program of you train hard with consistency and eat right.
Sounds to me like you already know the problem.
Maybe yes - the problem is, that before I was also eating “by feeling” and it worked somehow… No competitive level, but I was obviously more muscular… But yeah, maybe I’m simply eating too little now.
This is a program I would use when I am losing weight rather than building muscle
I wouldn’t say that netflix or chess are relaxing to be totally honest. I would direct that question towards google or other more qualified sources than myself… everyone’s got their ways to de-stress and you’ve got to find some for yourself.
Some people meditate, others read, some do stuff like stargaze or gardening… it sounds like a bunch of nonsense until you find your ‘thing’ and realize it sounds like total foolishness. But if it works, it’s not foolish at all. I like up at the stars for the same reason many like to stare out at the ocean… it makes your feel small, by extension making your problems small.
I’d argue that screen time does not count as ‘relaxing’.
FWIW, Andrew Huberman has some amazing material on this stuff… you can find him on YouTube.
Really? That sounds a little disappointing… ![]()
Honestly, I was hoping for a simple program, where I would get stronger quite fast and put on a few kgs of “dirty mass”, before trying anything more sophisticated…
Really great advice from Nomad. One of the best things you can do for yourself and your mental well being is get in the habit of quickly and immediately evaluating all of your problems and stressors as within your control or not in your control. There are plenty of shades gray in there as well, for instance, things you do not control but have influence over. This stuff is a learned skill.
I was once skinny and stressed and unable to gain weight. The mental game has to come first. You control your food amd training. That is firmly within your grasp. Training early and taking control of it and getting that first win is a great tip. If i train my ass off first thing, it makes the decision to get my calories from good nutrition in through the day more important to me.
I worked 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, literally, for 10+ months of the year. For years. I was a defense contractor in afghanistan and iraq, and granted, those are great training and eating environments… but it still took effort. Your training and your goal is important to you, thats clear. You started this thread lookimg for advice. You can absolutely accomplish your goals, regardless of the hardships you face.
Ive gotten into a bunch of Hubermans stuff lately. Really good content.
Have I got something for you…

SUPER SQUATS! Grab the milk and pull up a chair. Great stuff!
This is something I’ve dealt with forever. When I’m trying to get bigger/stronger, I’m constantly force-feeding myself, because my appetite just sucks. So I get this. It may help you to track your food intake, so you can be more certain you’re getting in what you need.
Ok, that sounds cool! I’ll definitely look at Andrew Huberman’s videos, never heard of him till now…
Defense contractor? Sounds cool, man…
And also, thank you for the encouragement!
30 pounds of muscle in 6 weeks? Not meaning to diminish the program, but I’d have to shower in PEDs for that, I’m pretty sure…

Jokes aside, what’s the main difference between the programs? Like, more accessory work?
Ok, I’ll try to start writing my meals down asap… Seems I’ll have to force myself to eat, albeit I don’t want to, at the moment…
Well guys, 2 changes so far:
- Finally I managed to finish my PhD
- I ordered 25kg (~50lbs) of oats powder - should suffice for some time now
Book is $10 and explains everything dude. You can read it in an afternoon.
Congratulations!!!
In all seriousness super squats is great. Ill grant the 30 pounds gig is a bit of stretch, but not as much as youd think. If you follow it, there will be significant gains. I know several people who have done it with great results. Ive never completed it myself, but ive used aspects of it to great effect.
