to answer your question im usally in the gym an hour to an hour and a half.
Tank what knid of numbers are putting up if you don’t mind me asking?
Hey man, sick back. Your problem is that you’re using a fixed bar to do pullups instead of rotating ring or straps that move freely correct? This happens because your wrists want to twist when you do a pull up but are unable to sending pain into your elbows and wrist.
This article is actually written all about pullups and problems that come with it/ how to fix them.
^^^ this
stick to neutral or rings/towel/something that can move

Couple questions brotha— How long did you find it took you to adjust to all this pre-exhaust with your strength? How long did it take your “money” exercises to return to the poundages you were using before starting the pre-exhaust madness? Also, What’ve you found to make your biceps grow the most at this point in your training career?

I forgot about using towels. Thanks for the reminder.
To the op, do you ever play around with isometric pullups (any angle) at the top portion or the pullup?
I found them great for strength and will pack on some extra muscles as well.

did not read the entire thread…sorry if this has been posted already. this guy weighs 275-280:
but, he is also one of the strongest men on the planet.
pullups at a high body-weight is possible, but hard.
I have a vid somewhere of me doing 5 chins when weighing 260ish with a 27lb chain on my neck. Ill try to find it an post it.
also, seeing the OP’s pic he posted of himself…I think he should be giving out advice more than asking advice from the people on this forum…lol.
but his humility and understanding that he does not know everything and is willing to learn even with his phenomenal development is very refreshing.

Not a single pull-up, so I guess it’s impossible after all.

On a more serious note, OP had injury-troubles likely responsible for his inability to do heavy weighted pronated pull-ups pain-free.
Tankman, pullups at your weight is not impossible. As a matter of fact I weigh 325 and can do them. I usually do 5X5. I just started doing them once I got my back strength up. I focused six months on my back.
A lot of T Bar rows…(up to 7 platesX1) and Dead (Raw, no straps)…(550) Bench…405 (Raw) @ a comp Saturday.
By the way, look up Bartendaz, calisthenic kingz, harlem sealZ, Highlandaz on you tube. Many videos of these guys at the park doing pullups on a straight bar and pushups with no problems. If you want a link to a few of their websites PM so you can see more things about these guys.
Also an article on Tnation which helped me bring my dead from 405 to 550 in 8 months is:
Twelve Weeks to a better Deadlift. This in turn increased my back strength to do pullups. Like u I’m not a fatty but not cut either. I competed in 9 powerlifting contests in the last year and a half, the latest being Saturday.
I found weigth not to be an issue in pullups but strength. Like the old saying goes, if you build it, it will come (pullups)
By the way your a beast and much respect to you and your workouts.
thanks for all the post guys any information is appriciated. i never stated i could not do pull ups or did not advocate heavy guys doing them. if you read i stat that i always did them but have had pain lately. also the pain is almost non existant anymore after all the stretching and shoulder blade exercises i have been doing. between all of your guys info and me going and seeing my physical therapist the issue is all but gone.
the videos are pretty cool im always amazed when someone takes anything to the next level.
not a huge fan of the kipping pull up though. but that guy is a monster so it probally works for him.
thanks
I like this thread. I’m going to give that shoulder workout you posted a go today and see what it’s like.

LOL…and the responses on this board any time other people mention it should let you know why people avoid it lately. This is the same reason I will not be mentioning how much I weigh from here on out. People seem to just want numbers lately so they have more to complain about.
In fact, I would recommend people who do take this seriously avoid even getting into that with people.

I see. He’s hinted towards them in other posts, so I already know he’s a strong dude. I was just really curious:)
what does your average day diet look like?
