I usually get up at 5:30am, eat, stretch and go to the gym about 6:00-6:15 to do my workouts. I had been eating a can of tuna when I woke up, but that is starting to get old really fast. I need something that is cheap, easy to get ready, and high in protein. Any suggestions?
I’m probably going to buy some more eggs and start eating those. They are pretty simple to get ready. The only thing is that I eat a lot of eggs after my workout because the cafeteria doesn’t offer much in the mornings. I don’t wanna get burned out on eggs too(which may be impossible for me).
My biggest suggestions from friends and family where tuna, eggs, nuts, peanut butter, or a sandwich.
The great thing about eggs is that you can prepare them so many different ways! I’ll usually do an omelet with cheese and meat for breakfast and then hard boiled eggs for snacks throughout the day.
Or, if you’re more ambitious than I am at 7am, try mixing up the omelet, spinach, broccoli, peppers, onions, etc… all sorts of stuff can make it exciting.
Also you can just do a quick shake in the morning. Metabolic Drive chocolate, peanut butter, flax seeds, and whole milk in a blender makes a pretty solid meal.
I can’t get Surge for cheap though. I lost my job and cannot find another for the time being. The cottage cheese and yogurt sounds like a good idea. I think a shake will cost too much for me. I have protein powder, but I just mix it with water.
My main problem had been not getting enough to eat before the workout and getting dizzy while working out. The tuna did a perfect job, but tuna isn’t something I like eating for breakfast.

I’m fairly new to this so take my advice for whatever its worth.
This works for me though.
If you have protein powder and a blender you can make a very cheap shake.
Throw some oat meal and peanuts in a blender. Then add milk and protein powder.
If it is pre workout I’ll add some sort of simple carb source to it as a quick energy source.
Carnations Instant Breakfast Powder works good and has extra protein in it as well. Chocolate Syrup works as well.
Make a double batch and you have a post workout recovery drink as well.
