Pretty Little Hate Machine

Cycle 9- Week 3-Day 2

Deads

5x300
3x340
3x380 (+2 reps PR)

Mid-Shin Rack Pull

5x5x275

SLDL

5x10x135

Standing EZ Curl

5x10x90

Tried an experiment and did rack pulls instead of BBB deads but I don’t think that was the best idea ever. I also had to go from 80 to 90 on my curls so the reps dropped a bit. Arms feel like they are going to fall off and my grip was shit for the stiff legs. Pretty disappointing money set, just not a good day all way round.

Joe: not enough protein in those pizzas! That’s why your lifting wasn’t stellar today. You needed steak on the side. steak and cookies I say.

bends over to whisper in Snaps ear I had beer and honey nut cheerios for supper. Somedays thats all a girl wants is her beer and cereal.

I took your advice and loaded the protein last night. Three chicken breasts covered with good mozzerella cheese, herbs and garlic.

mmmmm cheese. bet your lfiting today will be like 20x better! lol

Umm, bad lifting day with a PR of +2? Ummm…I need more bad days like that!! Solid work as always, Joe!

Since today is a rest day for me I thought I’d take the time to ponder some of the great mysteries of life.

Why do I look good in the mirrors at the gym but like a sack full of ass in my mirror at home when I wake up?

Why do OHP and regular bench kill my tri’s but CGB hits my chest hard?

Why do people pull their shirts up to look at their abs in the mirror, and by people I mean small guys?

Why can I play football for hours but can’t stomach the thought of 30 minutes on cardio machines?

Why can I buy 15 different brands of flour at the local store but I have to drive accross town to Whole Foods to buy Almond flour?

I also cannot figure out why I always crave apple pie, even first thing in the morning.

I, too, love my food. Most of the women on PW have to watch everything they eat. So they don’t like to hear me bragging about my filet mignon and ice cream.
Dinner last night. Two flatbread pizzas, one mozzerella and bacon with italian herbs and the second was refried beans covered in mexican cheeses.

Pics don’t look good but it was outstanding.
OK, it’s 10 am and im hungry as hell!

Never EVER question a gift from God!

Lighting. Its all about the lighting.

I can’t answer this. But you’d never see a female doing that. Although perhaps you’d like to.

Because cardio machines are so boring they make a person want to shoot themselves in the head to make it stop.

Be thankful you have a Whole Paycheck and don’t question further.

Because apple pie is delicious, especially for breakfast.

You’re welcome.

I think it might depend on where you bring the bar down when doing them. Higher up the torso gets more triceps involvement earlier. Lower down uses more shoulder and chest to bring the bar into position to where the tri’s can push too, usually farther up the range of motion.

Such has been my experience, though others may know better.

That chicken looks de-scrumptious. Do you cook all your eats yourself? I hate to cook.

I’m going to have to keep a better eye on where the bar is landing it seems, thanks.

Oh yeah, I’m the cook in my house. Honestly I really like to cook a lot.

Cycle 9-Week 3-Day 2

bench

5x205
3x230
1x260
3x230
7x205

3x10x175

Underhand BB Row

5x10x170

V-bar pulldowns

160x10, 165x10, 170x10, 175x10, 180x10

Spotter grabbed the bar early on second rep on money set, so it was no good. Regardless its time to reset following delaod. As of now I’m resetting miles, bench and squat with a possible deadlift reset as well.

no PR’s but this minght have been my best over all bench day in a while. I’ll take it.

Now for story time with Joe.

A very cute young lady comes into the rec center, jumps up and grabs the bar and does five old school chin over the bar chin ups. So I casually say “Thats freaking impressive” and we have a short conversation. In the meantime several of the brotards I know seem to find her very attractive. so I try to get them into teh conversation because I’m helpful like that.

Then I get to stand there while they made compete tools of themselves.

I was ashamed to be male.

I wouldn’t be too ashamed, how else will they learn? Although, there are some people that are just beyond help.

don’t be ashamed, you made a better impression than they did. Next time she might say hi to you and ignore the idiots. (that’s what I do.)

The score is:

Joe 1 Brotards 0

A comment like yours is something I always appreciate, yet rarely get. I’m sure the cutie appreciated it also.

And considering that you like to cook too, this officially makes you a hot ticket.

Don’t seem to have that problem at the gym I go to. Everyone pretty much knows each other so we don’t have a lot of the “brotard” thing. We do get the young guys flexing and checking their abs but that’s just being young. (us old guys do it, too. We just sneak in the bathroom where no one sees us do it). Sides, people generally figure out who the idiots are pretty quick.

Its more that I know attractive women get a lot of unwanted attention in gyms and I hope I didn’t make it worse.
