Pretty Little Hate Machine

2 hours of Flag Football. I’m going to count it as conditioning even if it doesn’t really count.

Wouldn’t flag football involve a lot of sprint work? I would think that would be huge conditioning.

I’m wondering if you guys would consider fly swatting with my bad arm to be conditioning. I’ve been doing a lot of it lately.

Yeah flag football is pretty much sprinting followed by a jog back to the line of scrimage and then you do it all over again.

The flies are horrible here right now. you open the door to go outside and the little bastards fly right in.

Everything was just a little off today. I’ll chalk it up to wearing the belt some and not having my head on right. I needed up actually putting 135 on the bar for 130…

Nice PR Joe! But I am disappointed you excluded us “northeasters” from your BBQ debate! Nice volume too.

As a northeasterner I have to say that we truely have nothing on there BBQ, it is the best I have ever had. Everytime I visit I beg them to take me to Dreamland :stuck_out_tongue:

So I used the belt for the first time on deads today and I have to say it was exceedingly painful. The edge just dug into my abdomen when I went to lower the weight. Maybe its just a matter of breaking it in, I certainly hope so. I could have gotten a few more money set reps but thinking and feeling the belt really through me off.

yeah that will happen. just make sure to wear it a lot so that your body heat and sweat break it in faster.

Sucks that the belt was the limiting factor in the number of reps you could get. I never had trouble with my belt. Took it out of the box and DLed right away without breaking it in. Not sure why it worked so well since that’s not the common experience.

That blows. Maybe wear it a litte lower in the front or wear a sweat shirt. Still great deadlifting even having to stop early. You’re supposed to keep two in the tank anyways.

Great deads in spite of the belt issues… Shoot I dont know how to wear one of them fancy lifting belts. All I can remember is the big ole wide razor strap leather belt I had in college.

Great lifting all the way around. What to you hope to get out of the belt, poundage wiae?

Hey Joe,

I bought my Inzer lever belt a few months ago and I too was surprised how uncomfortable that sucker was when I first tried it.

Bend over for deads and it cut right into the ribs.

I think it took a few weeks before it stopped biting me and now I don’t notice it.
Give it a little time and you’ll like it. Be sure to practice taking in big air and pressing your abs against it when doing work.

Thats exactly the issue! I get mentally prepared to DL and then the “Am I being cut in half?” breaks my mental concentration.

Thanks for the input, as long as there’s light at the end of the tunnel I’m good. i was more worried I was somehow doing it wrong.

Nothing really, I’ve just tweaked my back and I’m hoping that the belt will prevent any further occurance of that.

Joe, I had the same issue when I started DLing, with a belt. It bruised the top of my hips or cut into my ribs. I just had to keep tweaking the position until I found my happy spot. Okay…maybe not happy, but less unhappy.

Also, it will break in. Like everyone said, use and sweat will do it. Just make sure that it isn’t too tight.

yep doesnt have to be super tight just tight and then you push your belly into the belt. Mine used to bite me too. I think some of my problem was that I was rounding my lower back some and itr caused it to bite but once I learned how to use the belt my back stayed tight and straight and it stoped biting me.

Thanks guys, with luck this back tweak will go away and I’ll figure the belt out as soon as possible.
