Does it really always have to be a choice between abs and PRs? That is a sad state of affairs if you are me.
Well I don’t think its absolute but really only beauties you yourself and nlmain and snapper have to worry about it.
When your already busted abs can’t save you so I tend not to worry about them.

I finally figured it out. You’re eatin that chicken with all the steriods in it and it’s turning you into a monster. Your bench is coming along real good. Weren’t you stuck right above 200 a while back? Now you’re hittin PRs on CGBs the same day as on milies. Got ta be the chicken. Great lifting. Look out Col Sanders, here I come.
hel I think steroid chickens would be the perfect food.
nlmain wrote:
another wave of PR’s. man I’m happy if I have one! why is it we must chose between awesome lifts and awesome abs??
I bet you can have both given how naturally lean you appear.

Once again - nice work with the PRs.
I hear you on the “food-based” PRs. I think after my meet I’m gonna tighten up the diet (mostly cut out the non-food value liquid calories) and hopefully cut my belly fat back.
In my experince us FFB’s need to do a bit of fat loss a couple of times a year to keep the round down. Luckily I can cut really hard for around four weeks and drop a fair bit fast.
Damn Joe! You are carrying on1 good work!
Thanks JW, it going pretty well.

I left my chalk back at my office and it really hurt on the money set and the single after it. The 415 came off the floor fast but I started loing my grip just after the bar cleared my knee and I just couldn’t lock it out. I think with chalk I’ve got 435 or so in me on a really good day.
Way to go on the PR, and impressive SLDL. are those with a bar or with 2 70lb db’s?

I felt like an idiot for forgetting the chalk and having it cost me a easy PR was jusr rubbing salt into the wound. Learned my lession though.

You just saved it for next time. I mean, you already had one. No need to get greedy…lol.
Great work, Joe.
It must feel great to grab a PR at least every week, if not every training!

It does, I know it can’t last but thats part of the beauty of 5/3/1 in that you get a shot at some sort of PR a lot.
EDIT: It also helps that I’m really weak so I have no where to go but up.

Yep. The PR aspect of 5/3/1 is very attractive to me. One can always feel like a winner.
What’s this about ab talk?

So I signed on hoping to find a pic of how you chose to eat your wrist wraps. You know, plate presentation, sauces, etc.
Private joke here.

lol… I bet he’ll walk away saying there’s no proof. You’ll need to scan some ID and send it to him.
