PMPM, that’s one heck of an adventure you had. Luckily, I have never had to poop to make weight, because I have to be totally relaxed for it to happen. Meets just make me a nervous wreck and I usually have minor panic attacks up until warmups.
Hopefully you will have video, yeah?
LOL, I shit a brick in a figurative sense.
I don’t think there’s video, just pics and the posted results (whenever that happens). My videographer was busy entertaining my parents. Sigh.
LOL, if you shat one literally, you would have lost more weight. The last meet my parents came to, my dad had to go smoke before every one of my lifts.

Not my best total - close, but the missed squats ruined a truly awesome day. This was the first time in a long time I had a meet where I didn’t have to worry about anything (qualifying for something, a team, etc) and it was a total blast.
Nicely done 2PM.
Heres to hoping the SPF wont be as strict come feb.
DF, make sure you hit parallel on squats. The judges are cool enough that if you ask them during warmups to watch your squats to see if you are going deep enough, they will. Just make sure you have at least two of them do it, because every judge interprets differently. Have some friends call out the commands for you on a few sets for a few weeks as well. Your gonna be fine…i think.

My biggest worry right now is not my squat depth (when I do squat I always try to break parallel), its my grip. Right now my max deadlift without wraps is about 40lbs behind with wraps. I’m doing everything I can think of to get my grip stronger. Any suggestions?

Plate-pinches and/or static holds(super heavy) every other training session.

Pussy.
You say that like pussy’s a bad thing.
TBH, my right thigh is still actually swollen from the suit. Heh heh heh.
I ref’d the 198s this morning, and had the pleasure of meeting soldog and arachne. I had to leave before soldog lifted, but I’m sure he rocked the platform. I think I’ve got arachne sold on competing at the next meet, in March.

What kind of food/drinks do y’all like to bring to meets?
After throwing up on the platform once, I bring things that are full of carbs, digest easily, and won’t hurt coming back up. Seriously.
Drinks: Gatorade, Surge Workout Fuel™, water. Sometimes V8 or soup if I’ve had to cut much water.
Food: Peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwiches, chocolate, bananas.
I tread a fine line between eating and drinking enough to not bonk and eating/drinking so much that I can’t lift. I have a 2 hour weigh in window, so I’ve got to eat and lift, literally. My last meet, I went with a big sandwich after weighins with about 20 oz of WOF/Gatorade, and then pretty much stuck with gatorade and water through the rest of the meet.
Did my first full meet yesterday at CPO Provincials in Brantford, Ontario. Lifted in the Teen 140kg class. weighed in at 130.6kgs after a bloat.
Squats
280kg - Good (3 Whites)
Felt heavier than I expected, so took a smaller jump than I planned on
325kg - Miss
Came forward, felt something snap next to my Left Nut, knees came in… It was ugly.
325kg - Good (3 Whites)
+25kg over the existing National Teen 140kg Record
Bench Press
240kg - Good (3 White)
Wristwrap came undone. Had to rack and re-wrap. Shirt wasn’t jacked enough. In trying to make the touch easy, i lost a ton of pop… lesson learned.
247.5kg - Good (3 Whites)
Took a small jump, Pec wasn’t feeling good. Came up relatively easy. This matched the AWPC Teen 18-19 world record.
250kg - Good (3 Whites)
Got the Shirt figured out, jacked perfect and left a ton on the platform.
+85kgs over the existing National Teen 140kg record
Deadlift (The lift I really suck ass at)
195kg - Good (3 Whites)
220kg - Miss
Completely forgot how to deadlift and shit the bed hardcore.
220kg - Good (3 Whites)
2.5kgs over the existing Teen 140kg record
Total 795kgs
+112kgs over existing National Teen 140 Total Record
4 National Records
Missed AWPC Teen 308 Elite Total by 15kgs
Did not hit goals on any of the 3 lifts

Great job! Congratulations on the records. Once you’re healed up you can take another run at the AWPC Elite Total… no fun if you got everything right away.
I completed my first meet–a USAPL full power meet–in Fife, Washington on December 5. I appreciate all the help and advice on this forum. I went 6 for 9, all white lights on the six I hit, and just went too heavy on all my thirds. I totaled 1066 in the M1 220 raw class. I first started training for PL in June after I turned 40. Thanks again, it was a blast. My log is in the over 35 forum for anyone who is interested.
I just did my first competition this past weekend. It was a bench and deadlift raw competition and I signed up only for the deadlift. I pulled 480 pounds in the 165 lbs weight class for a new PR. I went 420 lbs, 460 lbs, 480 lbs, and had a fourth attempt at 490 which I didn’t lock out. It was a fun time.
JJ- Congrats on getting those first meets under your belt. Third attempts are just a guessing game, but a fun guessing game. Y don’t you post a link here to your log, I’m sure you have something to teach us young’uns. Actually, I’m a month older than you
Yosh- Push/pulls are a blast and 480 at your bw is nothing to sneeze at. You will hit 5 next meet, easily.
