Hey guys, been inactive for a while but back to posting over hurr.
Thought it would be cool if we post upcoming meets, (try not to go over 16 weeks ahead) So that maybe if its close to other T-nationers people can come watch/compete.
Yes many of us compete in diff feds, regardless. Lets get it started.
My schedule is busy, being that I graduate in Dec. So I will be competing in a smaller fed known as APC.
My comp is Oct 13, Athens, Georgia. Their raw allows knee wraps, and they use a monolift.
Ill be back in Florida in the spring so would be interested if anyone is hitting up comps in that area or has a good PL gym.
I’ll be competing in the XPC Semi Finals on October 28. I know of at least 1 other member competing and 1 other member who will be there helping out his team mates. This is full on multiply, monolift, knee wraps, grown-men-helping-each-other-put-on-their-magic-squat-pants, etc, etc.
The meet is in Columbus, OH and I am trying to hit a 2,000lb total
I’ll be competing in the Rivers Edge USAPL meet in Granite City Illinois on 11-3-12. I’ll be competing raw. This is a nice local meet. If you are new to powerlifting it would be a great first meet. There are generally not a whole lot of lifters, they have national judges, and people are generally a little more laid back at this meet so you can ask questions and get some help from other lifters.
^^ Oh yeah, only rule is no terrorist, So basically it has to be in America (USA)
jk, good luck at your meet. Canada seems to have a pretty large PL community from what I see online and random Canadians I run into. Have some beast BBers as well.
It’s a fair size. Not huge by any means, but fairly big for the number of people Canada actually has. PEI does pretty well, especially recently at the sub-junior level. Not to mention a couple of the top lifters Canada has ever had haha.

Miami, Supposedly there is a good PL gym in Ft Laud. that has a pretty successful coach. Other than that all I can usually find are BB gyms and crossfit.
I’ll be doing another USAPL meet sometime in December here in Kansas. The venue has yet to be set. Hopefully we will be able to have it on campus here at KU.
APF World’s, November 6-11 in Las Vegas. I’ll be competing in the master’s division on Sunday, Nov. 11. I’ve read that the Russian team comprises 74 lifters and the Canadians are sending 30-something. I’m dang excited!
UPA, Nov 16-18, in Dubuque, IA. Will be competing @ 220, full power, raw, in open and AD divisions. Will be in Masters (50-54). Turn 50 in September. Shooting for 1200+ total. Want sq.450+, be.300, dl.450+.
These meets are fun and lifter friendly. Many first time lifters as well as elite lifters from IA, IL, MN, and NE.

Hmmm. Just did my first me in July. I’ll have to check this one out; sounds interesting.

There is Idolmaker you might check out in Kendall. I have never been, but Louis Simmons gave a talk there a year or two ago. Depending on where you are based and where the Ft L gym is, it may be easier to get to Ft Lauderdale. It is pretty deep Kendall.
I stay with family in either Coral Gables or Miami Lakes, so both areas are pretty accessible.
Idolmaker looks like a legit gym, and Ive had a couple friends lift there, but still it has the problem of being Miami gym lol, it seems dominantly BB and physique. Im looking for a more PL geared gym. The FT Laud one would be a drive, but since it seems to have a good PL crew/coach might be worth it. Ill prob look at Idolmaker when Im down in Dec though.
Bench Press/ Deadlift competition on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
October 20th. Registration by OCT 10th.
My wife and I will be competiing.
As well as my training partner, and my wifes training partner.
I hope to put up a better bench number than the competition I did earlier this year.
I’m not sure about DL. I’m shooting for 305.
The on post comps are not super legit, or strict.
But they are fun, learning experiences.
I lift at a place that’s westchester-ish that is half oly gym half crossfit (as far as physical space), but what sold me was the strength/oly emphasis and chill owners/staff/lifters that is harder to find in mia. The olympic coaches have serious cred (not CF cred) and the crossfitters are even all on 531. There are bands, chains, a reverse hyper, prowler, yokes (i think that’s what they’re called), farmers walk bars, a safety bar, GHDs, atlas stones and all the rubber coated iron you could handle, but not much for benches and the schedule can be odd with all the CF classes. The CFers running around can be a plus as well… Not sure if that fits your needs but it does it’s called Crossfit Soul.
The rest of the University Powerlifting Club and I will be competing in the NASA Iowa Regionals in Des Moines on October 27th in Des Moines. I am also hoping to compete in either the NASA East Texas Open in Gilmer on January 5th, or the USAPL Collegiate Nationals on January 12-13th in Clarks Summit, PA.
