Poliquin Bio-signature

I also had another skinfold measurment done yesterday, and although the results were much less spectacular then the first, there were still some note worthy changes. The coolest thing was that my love handles measured in at almost exactly 50% of when i just started about 5 weeks ago!

I don’t know how tork trains exactly, but when you look at the different energy systems:
~0-10s ATP-CP
~10-90s Lactic
+~90s Aerobic

It’s not really surprising that o-lifters training doesn’t suffer from a low-carb approach, most of the work(sets) they do is 10s or less.
I may be wrong on this, but I have read that most o-lifter sets are done in singles and doubles, with ‘accessory’ work going to 6RM or so.

this is correct, almost all of my main lifts are done between 1-4 reps, on rare occasion ill go to a max of 6 reps on squats and on some accessory work like pull ups, abs, back extentions or re/pre-hab work ill do between 10 and 15 reps.

Where in Alberta did you get this done?

So you went from 40mm to 28mm to now 20mm ? Am I understanding this correctly?

Hey Tork: Quick ?:
Im going to ride on your coat tails here and give this a similar shot. Im going to jump on the 14 day Bootcamp Zero Carb High Protein protocol. My ? is though with this being 0 carb does that include amounts found in certain waters, condiments, etc etc? Or does it mean cut out everything except veggies but sauces and other trace carbs are ok?
Im gona give this ago for the next 14 days and track progress in a slightly different way.

Also as per T.Bruce’s suggestion I started supplementing CD-G (although there are a mixture of dose protocols online Im only doing 250mg a day. I know some recommend doing 1500mg a day, Im going to stick this out for 4 days then pump up dosage every 4 days.) Ive been supplementing zinc for months but maybe I am not taking enough. I can almost feel now when I miss a dose. For whatever reason I have been having nasty stomach reactions to the zinc (could be because of coating?) so I had to dial down. I cannot take this zinc on an empty stomach. I almost am done with this brand and cant wait to switch it up. Im also supplementing HCL started at 1 cap between meals and I am now going to do 2 caps between meals. All while mixing this in with my IF style of eating. I can lay out a whole plan if everyone wants to take a gander. Oh! and Im draggin my GF kicking and screaming with me. I promised her a pint of B&J icecream after 14 days so she has broken that down to hours and has started a count down. I was also thinking of supplementing DIM but I wanted to give the CD-G a clear shot and not mix a bunch of shit at once. If anyone has any suggestions or feed back let a brutha know.
Thank you.
Tork: update!

Tork: update! :)[/quote]

dont know about the other stuff, im NOT an expert.

but the 14 day boot camp is basically 2 time bodyweight for grams of protein/day, so for me the goal was 426g/day, mostly from meat, eggs or fish, some nuts are ok, but try and avoid cheese for the first 14 days, also try your best to make it all from meat, eggs or fish. also 30g of smart fats with each meal. if you have eggs or a fatty fish (salmon) then that counts as well, but fish oil, olive oil etc… are more recommended. as far as veggies go, try to keep them all green and fibrous and as many as you like. bbq sauce is ok, just try not to slather it on, just enough to help with flavor and keep it moist.

I never actually got to 426g of protein, im in a weight class sport and already to heavy for my class so getting down that much food was really not a good idea, but i probably averaged about 390 and was never under 370 for any days. also the protein goals included the workout bcaas and post workout shake which contributed about 100g/day. so basically i was shooting for 320g/day from solid food on my workout days and getting another 100 from my one shake and bcaas.

p.s. was feeling pretty strong yesterday and set a new PB in snatch from the box and front squat for 2 reps.

ppl biosig does work. im a biosig prac and torks results are typical not extreme. if u really want to perform ur best get blood work done on a regular basis to check things like ur zinc, mag, fatty acid levels etc. so many things can contribute to bodyfat accumulation such as bad gut health, stess, toxins, metals, estrogens, etc.

master of R: anything to add since your a pract? Does everything sound about right? Anything you would change or look out for? Not looking for a free breakdown but just asking for advices…thanks!

+1, also whenever anyone says “advices” I think of Arnold in Pumping Iron. Please tell me I’m not alone?

thats the only reason I say it P! You are the first and only one to catch on. His accent goes off in my head as im writing it.

Master, Where are you located?

Also, I saw better results with DIM and Calc D-Glucarate when I upped it to 2 pills 3 times a day. The weight on my hips melted off much faster. Just sayin’.

People who call Poliquin a quack need to try it before you knock it.

Its amazing how many people who supposedly want to get better or help others to get better can be so closed minded.

I work at the facility that I train at, and I was sharing all my results/experiences there in the same way I am on this forum. I no longer talk about my results because I received ridiculous amounts of flack from my peers due to the fact that most of what Poliquin says isn’t published in scientific journals. I showed them my results and some even accused my practitioner of either making the results up (even though i look noticeably leaner) or even insisting that he must be using sup-par skin calipers.

Shocking to say the least and I have now lost a lot of respect for the people I work for/with who I once looked up to.

Studies are all well and good and in many cases necessary, but practical experience kicks the shit out of text-book knowledge any day.

In the end ill just keep watching these people staying in the same place or even getting fatter while I continue to make gains. Maybe they will turn around eventually…

i didnt even read over his full protocol but his prac prolly just gave him the typical insulin protocol which invovlevs things like fish oil, nutrients, botanicals, etc. HOW u use them tho is the secret

Try estrogenomics. it works well too. theres actually 2 parts of the estrogen protocol. call ur local biosig prac to find out more

2 dim tid is the typical dosage. ppl that r extremely toxic like some women that have bad gut health and enviormental estrogens in them my detoxify to fast and vomit, get sick, etc. in that case keep the CDG high at 2 tid and ull maybe have to lower the dim all the way down to 1 a day

ask ur friends who they have trained. charles has trained olympic medalist in 17 different sports. getting an athlete lean to reduce intramuscular friction is a must. athletes are ppl too and suffer things like insulin resistance. ppl at my gym think im crazy too but yet im leaner more muscular and in most cases stronger and faster and can jump higher. Charles uses credible sources on just about every article he writes too so its not like hes just pulling this stuff out of his ass. ppl use to think the world was flat too remember…PS harpenden calipers are not cheap. 400 bucks? charles has had his for 26 years. id like to see what those dorks use.

Maxi B: Makes sense. I found Pol’s own recommendation regarding dosage with a client in one of his interviews. Itâ??s a high dose so Iâ??m going to work my way up to it as well as increase Zinc just cuz. I increased zinc and CDG last night and literally slept with a hard on all freaking night. I woke up 3 times last night each time full of blood. Crazy.

Iâ??m mainly going after pec fat. Itâ??s not gyno because there is nothing glandular and if I pinch a nip it goes from soft to hard and you canâ??t even see a problem. When they are soft itâ??s embarrassing. I did everything wrong to f up my hormones (if you want a list let me know). Iâ??m gona add in DIM shortly and similar zinc to what Pol recommends.

I agree with both you and Tork; people say his stuff works, he is viewed as a great source of info by other authors on this site, he clearly is doing something right to have such a successful biz, but he is an elitist which I think pisses people off. His stuff makes perfect sense. Hopefully Tork you didnâ??t take anything negative by how your gym reacted. Any gym would do that, you walk in regular and then you start walking in different people get mad about that for a variety of reasons. Even if its gibberish and pseudo-science its working for you.

I definitely didn’t take any of their negativity to heart, if anything, its made me train harder and do everything my practitioner has said even more strictly. Results speak for themselves so maybe once I get really lean and stronger then ever they might change their minds, but im not really concerned with “converting” people.
