anyone have an opinion on hot-yoga for detox?

i was reading the protein protocol for his bootcamp…im not quite clear on the calculations for a female in terms of grams of protein per day. its says .6…where ours is 1.5 g to 2 of animal protein…is there really that much of a gap. someone please explain to me so me and my girl can do the diet. anyone know of practioner who is reasonable in the tampa fl area. or lakeland. thanks

hey guys, got my skin fold results, its a mixed bag, somethings up, somethings down. Over all im happy though as its the leanest i have been sense starting this program, and considering midterms and stress etc… I thought it had gone up. So its nice to see an overall improvement even if just by a small margin.

I weighed 1lb heavier then last time. the sites that went up were, pec, triceps, quads. The sites that went down were, cheek, sub-scap, midaxil, suprailliac, knee, calf and hamstring. Chin and umbilical were exactly the same.

Its nice that ham is down, but also frustrating that quad and pec are up, quad is basically the exact same as it was when i first started and just doesn’t move at all, and pec and triceps are constantly going up and down, up and down. Its also VERY interesting (to me) that my supra-illiac and and sub-scap are actually down considering i started adding carbs in PWO, i expected them to be up slightly so its pretty cool. Also just as a bonus, my supra-iliac is now FINALLY less then half of what it started at!!

Any thoughts on the pec, quad and triceps? pec is probably my biggest bother and the one that i would like tp get down the most. any supps or food i could try? do you guys think hot yoga once/week might help these sites?

Shoot for 2 g / kilo for women, which is the old standby in BB, 1 gram per lb.

Hey Alex, are there any new and cool supplements that came out ?

Sounds like you may have E detoxed environmentally now there is just some remainder causing problems within the system - also a possible androgen conversion issue - seems like T is being stolen and converted into E. As I had learned through the BioSig stuff hormones are way more fucking tricky. With these types of protocols you have to rotate certain supplements every 8 days, fiber is a must, gut health is crucial etc. You can clear one pathway out for E but that was only part of the battle, hence why results are few and slow. If you dont have certain things in line, Protocols will hardly work or not at all.

Poliquin is super picky on what you use to detox, even with infared saunas, he suggests certain kinds. If there are things with in the sauna you may run into other small complications or it would provide no help.
How is your Zinc and D3? What are you doing for digestion?

I just finished my first hot yoga session, it was good, could have been hotter imo.

I just got a few fibers (flax, cheia-seed, and phylum husk. I will be taking them first thing in the morning, with lunch and after dinner, and rotating these fibers every 7 days or so. I am taking probiotics (part of that sponsorship/research program im in).

Currently I have been on Zinc, 6 caps/day for several months now and still dont really taste a whole lot on the zinc tally test. D3 is great, got that in my blood test, i was taking 50000 every 3 days for a long time and am still currently taking 8000/day.

Nice! Thats really good feed back and sounds like you have things pretty well under control. As far as sites maybe look into running a Zinc protocol? You are either converting or producing to much E. Sucks I know. I dont want to stop over stepping your pract. How do you feel your quads, pec and tri look? Defined? Reason I ask is because this pinching business is almost the most tricky part of the whole damn process. I can pinch you 3 times in a row and get WAY different numbers if Im not paying attention.

i believe we have been playing with the idea of doing the zinc tally loading protocol for a while now (5 bottles in 5 days etc…).

i think my tris look ok, but im actually a little self conscious with my pecs, usually try and wear black shirts etc…

Infrared Saunas need to be screwed together, not glued. The glue releases toxins during your session.

There are always new ones, but few ever really pan out. In 15 years, i have witnessed 1000’s of “the next best thing”, and aside from creatine, not much has carried the hype for very long.

Of course, MANY supplements have there place. Ultimately, it’s what you need, at this time.
I get 5, 19 year olds a day ask me what the best Testosterone booster is, and never fail to see the disappointment when I tell them to start with Zinc and Magnesium. I’m a big fan of the basics.
I don’t mind sitting back and waiting for a supp to pan out (which rarely happens). At 34, I’m not looking to get HUGE tomorrow.

Wish I could give you a better answer.

^ no better answer than the right answer

Don’t pay some ‘professional’ to pinch you in the butt and prescribe a shitload of herbs and antioxidants…

i totally agree with tork! be patient, if its working its working. I think the best way monitoring is eye blling it, take pics every week, dont compare them straight away but compare every 4 weeks! Add spices to your food, cayenne and chillies have been shown to increase metabolism - probably why you also need a dump straight after a curry!

That’s true Alex, I have ALWAYS had love handle issues (goddamit) and had some good success with Insulinomics, Fish oil, and Fenuplex. Other than a low carb diet, any other ideas that might help either supplement or nutrition wise ?

When someone mentions gut issues (as you did earlier), i instantly think, magnesium. Do you supp with Mag?
I would def be on Topical magnesium, along with a good dose of oral.
Not only do we generally not get enough because of food choices and soil quality, but inflammation in the gut makes it that much harder to absorb (why I would use topical).
Magnesium is the mineral of Insulin Sensitivity, and is also needed for proper cortisol management. (supra and Umbilical site)

D3 and zinc are also huge for insulin/carb management
I often tell people to try the Cinnamon Tea recipe promoted by Johnny Bowden.
I like R Alpha Lipoic acid. I like glycine (read in a Ray Peat article that it was great for insulin) and taurine, too.

Ultimately, I go by subscap measure. If you’re close to 10, these things could help. If you’re at 25mm, I would be the Carb Nazi. :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually never tried any of the supps you mentioned. Something I notice as well, I cramp badly, and I mean BADLY. Sometimes my toes and feet cramp so bad they lock up, I have to manually unlock them. Could this also be a sign of a Magnesium issue ? Also, with the topical, is that rubbed on behind the knee ?

My subscap is pretty bad, never been lean there honestly.

ordered the zinc loading proticol, gona run me 125 or something like that, but apparently once ones levels are optimal it doesnt take all that much to maintain.

also i will be competing in the provincial championships on the 19th of november, going for be trying to be a 3 time champion. 5th time if you include my jr provincial championships

It definitely COULD be (can’t say it is)

Is it both sides?
Low HCL is associated with cramping (probably because you don’t digest and absorb key minerals).

The topical Magnesium goes behind the knees because the Largest Beached Whale at Walmart has thin skin there. I recommend Charles’ Topical Cream because I have found many people complain about itching from the mag oil.

It should be noted, that I have no large intestine at all, and I mean NONE. So my GI issue does not stem from a damaged GI tract, but a lack of part of one. I had it removed from extremely severe Ulcerative Colitis back in 1996.

Right, I thought that was the issue.
So obviously, any supplementation would coincide with a doctors approval.

Has anyone experimented with cold showers? Back when I played football in college, we would do contrast showers, alternating between 1 min hot water, 1 min cold. I did it last night just to try it out again, and I felt amazingly better. Yes, the cold water part sucks, but I must admit that I felt remarkably better.
