Poliquin Bio-signature

Any one noticing issues with concentration, ADD or memory while doing the estro detox?

I asked this question of a solid nutritional person I know:

“I read recently that while ZMA (Zinc/Magnesium) combo is beneficial for keeping anabolic hormones up, it can reduce copper which can cause heart damage.”

The answer:

“The statement about it reducing copper levels is true. Intake ratios of zinc to copper exceeding 16:1 induce copper deficiency. So, it’s important to make sure that you’re consuming sufficient copper if you’re going to be taking supplemental zinc. Of course, too much copper can be dangerous as well.”

So, how does this play out in a “Bio-Signature” sense? Do you need to maintain this Poliquin-state by being assessed from time to time to see if your in balance?

I was doing a bunch of zinc for all kinds of reasons - then mentioned it to my pract who told me to be careful because it depletes copper and I can start twitching…
My reponse was “oh shit! So thats why my tricep wont stop moving!!”
The day or two prior my tricep was twitching like non-stop. I guess when the copper gets pulled out muscles can start twitching or spasm. Most zinc supps have copper in them. I upped my training pretty hard and then did the same for zinc (without copper) still havent gotten the twitching back…

well im officially pissed off!!

My body fat % has gone up significantly! Almost every site is up except for my triceps.

This is very disappointing, I still dont taste the zinc, and really the only thing we can think of is that my gut health sucks.

I have been sick lately and if my guts arnt working well then my estrogen sites would go up. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good probiotic supplement?

Any help from anyone would by appreciated.

Im also going to try taking eggs out of my diet for the next 4 weeks or so as I think i might have developed an allergy due to having 6/day for years.

good probiotics are Innate Response, Jarrow, Klaire Labs, Metagenics DF. I swear by them.

All good stuff. I also like Seroyal’s HMF forte.

Where can I get some new protoplasm ?

Im also sick today and have vomited twice.

My prac also though it was possible that I am retaining water, so i have been thinking, and I just remembered that I stated a new BCAA product (USP modern BCAA). This contains a glutamine peptide called Sustamine, which is suposed to help hyper hydrate the user. So im thinking its possible that its causing me to retain extra water subcutaneously.

This would explain why almost every fold is up my close to the same #.

Any thoughts?

obviously something changed in an unfavorable direction. Super sorry to hear that is going on in general. Its going to take some investigating to see what happened. As my pract did with me you have to sit down and track from today backwards to find out whats changed. If it comes down to guess work, fine, remove what ever may be guilty. Id start that way. Remove what ever is new in the past 2 months, look to see if there is anything added in your food, sauces, condiments, seasonings etc. Remove for 2 weeks and see what happened.

Haha! My thought exactly.

EDIT: Sry to hear that you are not feeling well Tork. I agree with H4R. Something has changed. Are you meticulous about tracking/weighing food? Our bodies desperately try to maintain homeostasis and will sabatoge and screw with us everystep of the way when we try to lose body fat. If you are not tracking food intake, you could be overeating and not realize it. Just a thought.

It is also plausable that it is the new supp. I know that I bloat up to epic proportions with creatine. Only way to know is to discontinue it, dry up a bit and retest.

I picked up a probiotic supp, and im going to get some Resveritol sometime this week as well.

hey guys, when do you guys take your last dose of zinc/magnesium during the day?

I have been told to take all my supplements with food and HCL, but im starting to wonder why I still cant taste the zinc of the zinc tally test despite taking 6 zincs/day for almost 2 months and 3 zincs/day for a long time before that. Maybe something im eating is blocking the zinc from being fully absorbed. Should I start taking my last 2 caps before bed?

What do you think

Is there a specific form of copper that you take or were recommended?

no, atleast not for me, although i havent started twitching at all.

I googled can’t taste zinc tally:

Perhaps you’re a ‘non taster’ and should just get a blood test.

thanks for the link, that may be helpful! im actually getting a blood test done on September 21st

I may also concider doing the protocol where you drink 5 bottles of the zinc tally test in 5 days. If i STILL dont taste the zinc tally after that then its probably fair to say that im just not a taster.

no, no type of copper I just picked up a zinc mix that has copper included. You dont want to deplete copper it can cause heart problems Ive heard. I take zinc 3x a day at a pretty high dose. I take it with food, middle of the meal because I will get sick if taken on an empty stomach. Maybe the zinc you bought is bad? Did you ever look into the methylator? Could be that you have to dial back. There is another pract I have been talking to on here and he recommends that when you stop noticing results you dont increase the dosage you dial back. I dont know if the same goes for zinc. Im one month out from my cert and Im super excited, i hope to get all of the answers soon.

My multi has copper glycinate. The issue of zinc causing copper deficiency may be a bit over blown. Yes, high dose mineral salts (zinc oxide) will compete for absorption. The study I know of that showed copper issues was using around 800- 1000mg of zinc. Charles has stated numerous times that he hasn’t seen the issue arise, nor has his colleagues (Dr. mark Houston, Dr. Rakowski, etc) at 300mg a day for 6 months. Again, using a quality chelated mineral.

If blood test confirm low levels after that dosing, I would suspect heavy metals. High levels of Cadmium will effectively block zinc uptake and utilization.
