Also, are there successful bodybuilders out there who go without eating 3 days a week?
So, OP is at 26 percent body fat, he is following this lifestyle to get leaner/healthier is he worried about adding mass amounts of muscle?
Is this permanently sustainable? possibly if you want to just be in general good shape and not a bodybuilder
I doubt that long term this is viable to become a (semi)professional/recreational figure athlete/bodybuilder but as of yet no one knows and will not until someone comes forward or OP achieves results.
My point is this is geared towards his goals and is working fine for his purposes. It might also work good for someone that does not want to be “freakishly” jacked

Like what?
Like lack of libido, fat loss stalls, energy dips, mood worsens. Everything you would expect from a too low calorie diet.
When his diet comes to a crashing halt he will be back to get info.
Thus far my libido has not wavered in the slightest. My energy has been abundant (which could also just be from weight loss in general), and I’m almost always in a good mood. I’ve always been extremely laid back, and haven’t ever suffered from a streak of depression that I can recall. It could just be that I’m not actually at a terrible deficit of calories, though. I mean, if a regular old every day Joe was eating his 2,000 cals a day, that’s 14k a week. That’s what I’m consuming still. Sometimes a little more, rarely less. I still get the same amount of calories as a “normal” person would on any given week.
Still, as I said, it is still early in my fasting experience. Things may change. If they do, I would happily inform the community of it.

BCAAs upon waking will be beneficial on your special days. If you were going to workout on those days take them before during and after the workout.
Only as a quick aside to this… I don’t know if there are any bodybuilders out there that go without eating 3 (or any) days a week. I’m not a bodybuilder, though. I can flat bench a whopping 205 x2 (maybe more, but I don’t have a spotter, so I don’t try).
My worksets are an astonishing 165. My squats (with proper form and a bum knee) are 225 on my worksets. Not even sure what they are in the 1-3 rep range.
These aren’t big numbers. I may not ever have big numbers. I’m perfectly okay with that. But I am making gains. Again, maybe they’re the newbgains, but I’m happy with my progress thus far.

Thank you, I very much appreciate it. Just to clarify: by special days do you mean my fasting days? Because, to be honest, it’s really more special to me when I eat.

Fasts have been shown to induce semi-euphoric feeligns because of the increase in catecholamines. I’ve only done one or two 24 hour fasts per week and by the 19th hour I’m VERY energetic - like bouncing off walls.
um you were giving advice on physique improvment. weren’t you?
I was supporting what he was saying not specifically giving advice on physique improvement.
Even if I were giving advice on physique improvement what I look like has little to no relevance, and in this case it would in fact be more than freaking relevant since I have to lose a lot of weight (25% + body fat) before too which is what the op is doing.
If I was giving advice about getting super lean then you might have a point.
Furthermore I do not train to get “jacked” if I did I would look considerably different since all my efforts towards become more athletic/balanced would be directed to adding size and training 8 times a week the difference would be significant.

Yeah, if I had to note anything I’ve experienced akin to a negative side-effect it would be this. If I’m not asleep by 10 to be up at 6 for the gym, then I start having too much energy and become restless. Thankfully, I have only had this happen a couple of times. Both times, though, I wound up doing all of my laundry, cleaning my bathroom and washing some dishes up, so at least that’s something.

Its hard to say something more incorrect, in this context.

OP, may I inquire as to what you have been purchasing over the past month to be a Level 3 already?
I made a profile to post recently, but I’ve been on this site for quite a while. I’ve picked up plenty of supplements. Alpha Male, BCAAs, Superfood, Curcumin 500, Metabolic Drive, Rez-V, HOT-ROX.
