Can u ask Thib why hes giving u Metabolic Drive bars, theres a wheat and milk allergy warning in it cause hes careful with that stuff. And last of all theres trans fat in the bars.

Since when? A quick look at the label and I see 0g of trans fat listed

partially hydrogenated oil

No offense, but I think it is lame to think that ‘food is just fuel’ when there are PLENTY of ways to change the flavor of something and still have it adhere to dietary requirements. That mentality is just to keep someone from ‘whining’ - though I think it’s a legit request to want to enjoy what you put in your mouth - and potentially using the bland-food argument as a crutch not to be disciplined.

I cook pretty frequently and enjoy playing around with flavors. There are so many combinations it is mind boggling. So many things you can do and still eat healthy.

I agree.

The “food is fuel” approach is correc of course, but there’s nothing to say that you can’t try and make the food more palatable - in ways which still conform to your diet and goals of course.

It is distinctly UNpleasant trying to force feed yourself, having the upset stomachs, the cramps, feeling bloated and full and sick. Having a bursting stomach and feeling sick has a very negative effect on my workouts too. So yes, food is fuel, but the taste/texture/amount also has a bearing on performance too at least for me.

Does anyone know how much the supplements (including protein) he’s on would cost per week?

it may say 0g trans fat, but all that means is that in each serving there is less than .5g and the company can legally round down. notice it doesnt say no trans fat, but instead 0g trans fat. you always have to check the ingredients for partially hydrogenated oil

At first, I thought you might have confused yourself with hydrolysate, but after a quick review of the ingredients, I realized you were right. Wow, I am really surprised this has hydrogenated anything it (being it comes from a very health conscious store).
Many companies use hydrogenated ingredients to increase self life of a product. For instance, Oreo cookies last forever with hydrogenated ingredients. It allows companies to mass produce their product without the fear of the product going bad. But, in reality, it is a dangerous ingredient.

I really like those workouts! I am already seeing a lot of growth, my arms and legs are blowing up. However, so is my belly! I started on the Bizarre diet, and stuck with that for almost a month now. I’m going to up the protein even more and trim back the carbs for my next phase, I’ll keep you posted.

I see why he’s giving you so much protein though, you really need to train to failure on this workout. Early in the Bizarre training I would hurt for EVER, days of crippling DOMS. I upped the protein, and those DOMS went away. Once you start putting up some bigger weights, most of that food will stick to your bones out of sheer necessity, instead of blowing out your ass.

Could you ask the coach how he feels about night feedings? I’m thinking sleep 4 hours, get up and drink a shake, sleep 4 hours, then breakfast as normal. Would that interfere with proper rest and recovery? It would buy your stomach a little more time to digest.

IMO this guy doesnt look skinny.
what makes him an ecto?
i wanted to see a tall anorexic guy become buff!

but his training hard, and updating frequently thats good!
keep up the good work!

Some of you are still PMing me for the program I’m doing. As of right now, I’ve posted everything you need to know:

*The DIET and FIRST DAY WORKOUT are on my actual PC–in which I got in trouble for

*The other THREE WORKOUTS are within the first few pages of THIS THREAD.

Read it, understand it, ask questions about it, and have fun.

Anyway…

With regards to enzymes, you can take Omegazyme which is what Berardi recommends, by Garden of Life. Few scoops with each protein containing meal. Maybe throw in a few scoops into each shake (that’s what I do).

Also, ask Thib if you can use Betaine HCL pills. They will help digestion BIG time. I use 600mg pills and take 2-4 with high protein + fat meals…really helps me I think.
The Omegazyme looks interesting. I saw that they have pills, and I’d be willing to look at that. The fact that Dr. Berardi recommends them is a definite plus. That is one smart mofo! I don’t think I can stand ingesting another powder.

As for HCL pills, I don’t know about all that. I’ve read that only people that have KNOWN reduced levels of stomach acid should take it, diagnosed by a nutrition doctor.

Oh, and I have to ask (and sorry if it was answered earlier):

Why are you drinking Workout Fuel AND Recovery for pre-workout?

Looks like you’re doing the same thing throughout the workout, right? I thought Workout Fuel was preferred over Recovery for during the workout?
Because Coach Thibs told me to! As for WHY. . .I can post it in my PC for him to answer.
And, do you drink them as separate shakes or mix it all up?

Keep up the good work, USC!
For the first three workouts, I drank them separate. It was a hassle (4 shakes in almost an hour!). Starting with today’s shoulder/triceps workout, I took them together.

The SURGE Workout fuel is Fruit Punch, and the SURGE Recovery I’m using now is Chocolate. I was worried that putting them together would taste like straight asshole. . .but at the recommendation of Coach Thibs (who said it tasted like cherry blossoms), I mixed them together (with about 14oz. water) and it wasn’t bad at all.

I’ll be doing that from now on. I’m hoping the other SURGE flavors go well w/ the fruit punch as well (root beer???).

I’ll post this question in my PC.

Sab,

Thanks for sharing! I’m excited to hear about your progress.

Trust me, I’m doing my best in the gym. I haven’t worked out this much, and with this much intensity, for almost a year, so I have a lot of work to do.

Today was probably my best workout of the four. I know I have to lift HEAVY, but I also don’t want to lift too heavy that I lose focus on what I should be working on (e.g. yesterday’s back workout where I used a lot of arm strength to pull heavier weight when I should’ve knocked it back a few pounds to get that good squeeze in my back).

I hear ya about the DOMS. I couldn’t walk yesterday and today! I’m like a damn gimp. I can only imagine how sore I would be, and for how long, w/o my new diet and supps. I can also relate to the whole belly comment. Although I may not be actually getting rounder around the waist, it feels that way since I’m full all day everyday. What I’m eating now can’t be any worse that what I was eating before the PC.

As for your question about night feedings, I’ll post that in my PC.

lol… and he did. ha ha…

Damn Mithious! Is that you in your avatar? If so, I wish I could look something remotely close to that after this PC! I don’t think I could ever get a back like that though. . .

silly,

I’ll take that as a compliment! Haha! I think I’m a skinny sonuvabitch! Yes, my genetics robbed me of height, otherwise I would be that tall anorexic guy!

Believe me, I think people would rather see a guy like me as the ecto person rather than the last guy, bizarre, who a lot of people REALLY didn’t think was ecto.

And I’m trying my best and updating as much as I can. I never thought updating both forums could take up so much time!

“When I get sick it’s pretty much like a prison rape… it doesn’t last long but it’s painful as all hell!”

HA HA HA HA I thought this was a wicked qoute from Coach Thibaudeau…he made a Quebecuois knee slapper
JNM6125 wrote:

I wish I could say yes.

I actually weighed 141 at the start of this PC, and not 147 like what I put in my application. I think I may have fucked up the 7 as a 1, or I really lost 6 lbs.

Now, I’m actually up to 147 (w/ shorts and shirt). I also question the amount of nutrition my body got from the first week of this diet since a lot of it “ran” through me.
