I’m trying to figure out if the reference to the Colorado experiment that Shugs wrote was a good thing or a bad thing?

I’ve got to say, any time I fuck something up with my training or nutrition because of distraction, it’s almost always because of video games. I missed a meal today and ended up having to go five hours and work out on a can of tuna and an apple because I fucked up and forgot the time while playing Dead Rising. I think it’s a good thing to cut out of your life diet if you can, I always do when I really need something done.

Those pics a re f’n amazing 14 lbs??? Keep pushing USC.

Can someone explain to me what “Alpha Male” is?

Is it a type of steroid or pro-steroid?

Are there any health risks associated with it?
Click on the “STORE” link at the top. Biotest makes it, so it’s there to read about.

Hey USC,
I am actually a little concerned that you are putting on a bit to much body fat. IT is clear that you have put on a lot of muscle too, but I’d like to see a little less around the middle. I am a little surprised actually that you’ve put on the fat considering your diet is so clean and you are following it.
I do have some tricks up my sleeve that would make that bulk a little cleaner; but seeing as how you are under the strict control of C.S. and C.T. who would probably get pissed if you acclimated something they did not suggest, I will not mention them.

Good luck bro…Train fuckin’ hard!
I am rootin’ for ya.

USC I sent you a PM with a tip about your comments with Surge Recovery.

You said you would prefer something more like Gatorade.

I think that the Wild Raspberry flavor of Surge is a little thinner and would resemble gatorade more for you.

its also sweet and “fruity” which would def mix better with the fruit punch SURGE Workout Fuel if you decide to do that.

Hope that helps. And to all the other T-Nation readers, am I the only one wondering why CT chose not to use the P&F and P&C meal guidelines when designing USC’s new diet and crew’s diet.

This has a real advantage over the colorado experiment in that it’s not a work of complete fucking fiction by an insane bastard.

USC,

Have you noticed an effect from the Alpha Male tabs? I ask because obviously testosterone level has a huge impact on gains, energy, intensity, morale, and recovery. I think often us fat/skinny ectos have t level issues. Have you ever tested your free t level? I know you are still relatively young, but men’s t levels start to descend (usually slowly) after they peak at around the age of 20. Have you noticed an increase in libido or any of the above?

The diet, supplements, and intense training alone should have created a perfect environment to ramp up your metabolism and probably your hormonal levels too. It may be hard for you to pinpoint the provenance of boosted metabolism/hormonal level/energy due to the fact that you made so many positive adjustments simultaneously.
this thread has nothing to do with me, but i wanna tell you guys that Alpha Male is a good investment. unbelievable really. its just the price thats a lil off, but you can expect to get what u pay for.

first couple times i took it, my stomach got a little upset because its taken on an empty stomach. after the first week or so u get used to it. you just can not get weak if you take this supplement. my strength gains increased pretty dramatically… but i also want to note that my strength usually went up pretty fast.

just thought id share that with the rest of you ectos out there lookin for an edge!!!

oh yea and USCtrojan… FIFTEEN POUNDS in ONE MONTH!!!

wow. there mustve been some strength gains. care to share?

USC,

Last night was my first test which determined if I would stick with the strict diet or not. My friend and I travelled to another state to go to a friend’s surprise b-day party at a restaurant, then to a bar, then crash at the friend’s house. It took hours to prepare the meals, put supps in ziplocks, drop lunch off at work (where I am now) etc.

Nothing like drinking a shake in a restaurant and eating tomatoes, broccoli, Flameout and another shake outside of the bar while the others are inside drinking. Not to mention the drunk people looking at me like I have two heads. I couldn’t find a grocery ANYWHERE and wasn’t able to get shrimp. So assuming that finding a grocery would be easy was a mistake. (especially without a car) This brought two questions to mind.

1- If you miss a meal, does it help to eat more the next day. I feel like eating the damn shrimp with breakfast and I chugged a carton of egg whites instead of measuring…

2- If not possible to eat the meals as shown (breakfast, lunch, supper), can you eat 4 tomatoes in the afternoon, or even space meals apart. (ie. I had the lunch shake on the train and then the rest when I got to the office) I guess what i’m asking is if nutrient timing plays a role or if it just about getting the calories in. I know discipline is a huge part of the PC, but shit happens and I would like to understand as much as possible about making gains.

Thanks!
TKE,

I know what you mean. I had no idea how much sacrifice I’d have to make to be a part of this PC. Its tough. My life is pretty much centered around this.

Now that you’ve been through a brick wall of sorts, maybe now you know exactly what you need to do to not let it happen again. Packing meals is VERY imperative. My word of advice is, pack the next meal in line, even if you know or think that you’ll be back home for it. Shit happens. Buy lots of those ice packs to keep your shit cool.

#1 - I’d say just try to eat all your meals for that given day on that given day, regardless what type of shit happens. If I usually eat lunch at 1:30pm, and my snack at 4pm, but don’t get home until 6pm, I’ll eat my snack right there, and each meal thereafter will be compressed, but I get them all in. If you don’t do that, then you probably would just have to cut your losses. Trying to squeeze even more the next day will probably just set you up for further failure. Not missing ANY meals is the best way to avoid this problem.

#2 - Coach Thibs said that I can move shit around when talking about my new diet, as long as I get all the food items in. Of course, the celery and broccoli w/ my protein shake at night (in the old diet) should be taken as is to slow the digestion process. Big gaps between meals is a no-no if you can help it, and you don’t want to vary the timing of the workout supps–I know, and Coach Thibs let me hear it.

Blackcat,

You’re just of source of info, aren’t you!

I know Dr.Berardi and his thoughts on eating very well. S2B is what I followed during this time last year. I liked the part where he talked about visiting a friend in football camp and seeing how they ate, and modeling his diet after that. Freakin’ insane amounts of food.

That’s another source of my inspiration right there when the diet gets tough.

Keep in mind, he made informative and entertaining posts during Christmas vacation and now the new semester starts! It’s a far more painful experience. I know, I’m working full time and doing night school. Gym time is a sacrifice, but anything worth having must first COST.

Trojan, please don’t screw this up, you have Bizarre’s failure hanging over your head, and a whole busload of tiny guys who are counting on you. Post your stuff from a library or cybercafe, man! You are a role model! No excuses!

-Sab
Wow, one little bump in the road, and all hell breaks loose. WTF!?

Sab, I understand what kind of predicament I’m in w/ the ecto’s past in this PC. The Coaches made it quite clear. I actually think I’ve done a pretty good job so far. One hiccup, and I lost all credibility of everything I’ve accomplished thus far.

The past few days have been stupid insane. Its one of those “hindsight is 20/20” type of things. What types of problems aren’t that way? I bounced back right away.

And I played the fuckin’ video game for all of 30 minutes. Its like I wrote a thesis on this shit when all I said was that my brother has all the video game systems, bought a new game, I played it and liked it.

Having to do this program is one thing. Doing it AND having accountability is another. I could easily be typing a bunch of bullshit numbers and meal entries, but I’m not. My pics and my body isn’t the greatest, but I think its a good example that I’m working my ass off, and that the info I post in my PC is the real deal. As far as I know, Goodfellow was the only other one doing the same, and now he disappeared. Share with us your pics, your experiences, and your knowledge as well. It can only help all of us skinny mofos. You’d be surprised just how much harder it is just for the “computer” portion of this program.

I didn’t mean for this post to just be directed at you. . .it was meant to address this whole issue that happened while I was away, and I don’t feel like quoting all the posts about it.

Stay strong and train hard. . .

P.S. If it wasn’t for the fact that my pics were saved ONLY on my laptop, then me going to a library or cybercafe would’ve worked just fine. The camera was not mine; it is my brother’s camera, and I was only able to save them on my laptop so that I could post them later as soon as I got home.

Haha. Its nice to know that you’re concerned about my soft center! I know that fat gain would be a part of this equation. My skinny ass knows how to make fat out of the cleanest foods, apparently. Plus, I’ve been a couch potato eating like this, other than the prescribed workouts.

It sounds like Coach Thibs has a plan in mind for me, so I’m just going to keep eating my ass off, and hopefully I’ll gain more muscle than fat in the process.

Just out of curiosity, send me a PM, or post here about what you were going to say.

Millerizer,

I never got the PM, but thanks for posting on here. I would’ve totally missed it (which is why its always good to post here sometimes, rather than PMs).

If I could choose to just get Wild Raspberry that would be nice. My first shipment came w/ pretty much every flavor of SURGE, so its going to be interesting to see just how good the Fruit Punch tastes like w/ all the other flavors. I’m not one to make demands when I’m getting the best supplements free of charge.

You’re certainly making me look forward to the Wild Raspberry though. The only thing I’ve read about it was that it was too sweet or something like that.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Alpha Male. I know you did so a little while back as well.

There have been strength gains a plenty. You can see them in my workout posts in my PC.

Did you ever find almond butter? Trader Joe’s is a good source for stuff like that. In fact, they have decent prices on most of the food you are having to eat. They have the best Campari tomatoes! They taste home grown and right off the vine.

Your hard work is definitely showing.

And I say again, “Rescue Me” is the best show on TV! I hope it doesn’t get messed up by the writer’s strike, but it probably will.

USC, with the increase in whole eggs I wonder if there is any concern about cholesterol? I know they are Omega-3 eggs which helps improve things, but I know some people can eat whole eggs with no dramas and some eat them and their cholesterol skyrockets.

Maybe you could ask coach Thibs?

We don’t want your skinny ass dying on us!

Any idea when the next workout phase is going to start? As a fellow ecto I’m really interested where this low volume concept will go. Good luck!

Nope. I just started my shopping late tonight (its already 12:54am!). I do have a Trader Joe’s really close to my apartment. I thought about them too when I read almond butter. I’ll check them out tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up. The only health food stores I know of close by is GNC, and they don’t carry it.

Say it ain’t so!!! I love it. . .with a passion. I never watched it on regular TV before–I just started w/ the DVDs (never watched an episode, but bought all 3 seasons off the bat), but now I’m a fan for life. I don’t want this show to ever end.
