Physique Clinic discussion for gustavopacho

Gus, just checked in on the Clinic and your doing well, keep up the great work. I did my one week weigh in yesterday and I was down 11 pounds so I’m way happy with the progress. I’ll get some measurements tonight to see how its really going.

I like reading about your wife picking up her meals and having to drive home with them in the car. I cook for my family so while doing this I’ve worked with my boys to do the cooking as well as doing some myself. Last night I cooked up chicken enchiladas for them and it was pretty crazy but I didn’t sample any.

Daven, I’m going to give the cookies a try, I miss chewing also

Great job everyone, keep it up!

Hey bro, just from the pics of you on the treadmill, it’s apparent you lost weight. Nice job! I’m bulking right now and was contemplating the V-Diet–now the question is how big do I get before I trim! Keep moving forward :P
Thanks Bro, I love that treadmill though! There’s a storm hitting my area right now and the rain would be a pain in the butt to walk in.

Keep that mass-up phase clean so you don’t have to cut too much fat. It is fun being big and strong but not if the gut gets too big which is what I found out.

Train hard eventhewaves!

Well Gus after reading your training log and what not I decided to give V-Diet a try. I’m on my second day now and I already hate it haha. Can’t imagine it gettin worse yet I know it will. Keep up the good work!
Hang in there LM! The V-Diet does deliver if you follow Chris’s program to the letter!

There are some rough spots but that just comes with the territory. It is only one month out of your life to get the kind of dietary habits that will jump start your eating habits from mediocre to productive. Plus you dump a ton of fat that doesn’t belong on your physique!

Post some pics of your results here afterwards!

Take care LiquidMercury!

Hey Gus -
Wanted to add my voice of support as well. You and Bart are the “lab rats” I’m watching the most. I identify more with Bart’s physique, but I really appreciate your attitude (toward yourself AND others) and determination.

Keep up the good work, your progress is evident! You guys are the inspiration that some of us need to fuel our own transformation.

Cheers -
Don
Thanks a lot Don! I love reading about people changing their physiques!

If I wasn’t here, I would be reading and getting some of the great information and motivation too!

Bart is making some awesome progress and I’m stunned at how well he is doing and now he has to get it done with just one leg. Man, that is some fire in his veins that is motivating and inspiring to me too!

Thanks for the support Don and take care.

Just wanted to stop by and say that you’re an inspiration to myself and many others! My internet time is limited to when I can find the time to browse at work, but everytime I get the chance I make sure to keep up with your journey.

Keep kicking the mess out of this program man!
Thank you for the very kind words Sayjin!

I grew up watching all the Bruce Lee movies! That clip was classic.

Damn, Bruce had some sharp abs and some wicked forearms. I think they were bigger than his upper arm! Bruce always trained for speed and power. The physique changes were some nice side effects from all his training!

Take it easy Bro!

Gus - wanted to say that I am really enjoying traveling vicariously on your journey! You are the poster boy for doing this velocity diet right, and I really admire your dedication. The detail about self-talk is good stuff - those are the kind of tools that people like me can really use!

Good luck in your day to day effort - can’t wait to see where you take this, but what you prove to yourself on this journey must be life changing.

I’m eagerly reading your thread here. You’re the “lab rat” I’m watching the closest because our size and measurements resemble the most from all the physique clinic participants. You’ve got a little more muscular development in your chest and lats than I do but otherwise we’re pretty close in physique.

I really want to do this V-Diet but I’m having to acquire the supplements a little at a time due to the cost. I’m a believer in the approach though.

Good job on your resolve to see this through. I like to think of myself as being mentally tough and determined and I can see that you have the same quality. You will succeed.

Thanks very much HogLover!

I think it is a good idea to make sure you have all the right supps and quantity before starting that way you give yourself no outs on the V-Diet.

You sound like a hardcore lifter Hog and I respect that mental attitude a lot. That’s what it take to get to the next level and I hope they pick someone like you for the next go around for the Physique Clinic!

Take care my brother!

WHOA!! Much respect for the Boston Market episode! And I can relate about the peanut butter. I did the same thing! It was heaven… /drool
Gotta love that peanut butter! I’m looking forward to try that V-Diet Cookie recipe from Daven.

Take care Scott!

Gus, I just posted this in the Supps & Nutrition thread, and I thought you might like it.

Velocity Diet cookies. Very useful for those of us that like to munch on things.

Right on Daven! That recipe looks great and I’m trying it out tonight. I’ll let you know what I think about it!

Thank you very much, Take care you two and kick butt on your 2nd Run of the V-Diet!

Right on Tex! I know your smiling about that 11 pound drop cause I still am! Man, that is great to hear. I’m real happy for you and its just the beginning for both of us!

I go with my wife everywhere and unfortunately it involves food most of the time. I’m really good at resisting anything and know how you feel when cooking also!

I make my wife snacks at night and go through the same thing. It’s OK cause I have my solid meal coming up.

Congratulations again and train hard Texmac!

Thanks for hopping along for the ride Karla R!

That self-talk is really important cause your gonna come face to face with challenges left and right when taking your body to the next level.

To me, that is when you really walk your talk. Especially when roasted chicken is talking to you while you don’t want to listen ha ha!

Thanks for the support Karla R. I really appreciate the members here at T-Nation and posts like yours really do make a difference!

Take care!

Yah I decided to give the training your doing a try to, never done anything like it and it is definitely harder then it looks. Definitely lookin forward to dump some fat too. Keep up the good work.

Best of man!

I watching you and Bartl the closest on here, but your staggering results on week 1 of the V-Diet have left me with only decision to make, give the V-Diet a run!

I will have to do the gradual approach in obtaining all the supps, but damn if im not salivating at the idea.

Your doing fantastic man, and good job with resisting temptation. I am doing a lower carb diet right now, and i ran to Wendy’s for my rommate and my girlfriend and just ordered two jr bacons and a frosty without thinking. Thank fully, when i got home, my roomie was extra hungry.

Keep up the great work, rooting for you 100%

hey gus! keep on rockin my friend… your killing it! where do i find a copy of your training plan?

Yea, I’m hoping that pick someone like me (or me) for the next go around of the Physique Clinic too, but I’m not gonna sit around and be fat just hoping. I’m working on this thing now.

What I like about following your PC (physique Clinic) is your rigid approach to the V-Diet plan. After Chris released the V-Diet and it started really picking up in popularity I started seeing people want to make amendments to his original plan, and substitute this for that and “give a little here and take a little there”. That is a complete roadmap to failure.

I think you did the right thing in deciding to hold off on the “V-Diet Cookie” recipe. Even though it’s Shugart approved and technically adheres to your calories and V-Diet program it’s still a little bit of a rationalization to satisfy that desire to chew. I’m glad you resisted that temptation because it was in fact a teeny tiny rationalization that if not recognized could balloon on you as the program continued.

You and I are a lot a like. I bet you’re an either ALL-OR-NOTHING type of guy right? You’re either going to do it all the way or you’re not gonna do it at all. Am I right?

Well, you’re doing this all the way and I expect you to continue on that path and succeed BIG TIME.

I made the cookie last night, can you say Heaven!!!

Today I also took my casein/whey/flax dumped it in a bowl, added some water, stirred it up and just at it like mush which was a very nice change also.

I don’t know about you but my mouth has been really dry doing this diet and that just adds to the level of discomfort. Give the cookie a shot some time next week, it’s a nice change in pace.

I just noticed that the training program is by Chad Waterbury!
I noticed that Chris mentioned that Waterbury had written different levels (beginner, medium, advanced) of programs to go with the V-Diet. Given my training age, I think beginner is most appropriate for me. I searched the site but couldn’t find said program. Does anyone have a link?

I believe the programs are in the forth-coming Velocity Diet book. They are not on the site anywhere.

My focus in being in the Physique Clinic is to just follow what Chris wants me to do and reap the benefits. Chris invented the Velocity Diet and knows what you must do to benefit from it. I can’t go wrong by following his directions.

I’m waiting after 21 day so the good dietary habits are really cemented in. I will try it later, it looks chewy.

Good observation! Chris noted this as well earlier. It works well on the V-Diet.

Thanks HL!
