Physique Clinic discussion for gustavopacho

No problem man. The only thing I can recommend further than what I already have is that the reason I got fat in the first place (my before pics) was because I went back to a traditional bulking cycle after my V-diet. Meaning I was eating 3500-5000 cals a day, mostly clean actually. I highly recommend doing only 250-500 over maintenance if looking good is important to you.

I admit I liked being a bit bigger, but I cant wait to be that big AND muscular. Now that I look back I see it was all just fat, so whats the point? Slow bulking is the way to go for me from now on. 1-2 pounds per MONTH is my new goal, whereas 1 lb per week got me to my fat state at the beginning of Summer.

Hey man,

I’ve been watching your clinic with special interest, simply because I think the V diet takes a hell of a lot of determination.

They chose well when they picked you, you look like you have some SERIOUS muscle under that fat layer. After pics should be awesome.

Keep up the hard work!

Gus,

That was pretty funny, you almost ordered a McGriddle out of force of habit! I had a similar episode on Day #7. I got a call from my boss to please come in early. I groggily got going, FORGOT TO MAKE MY METABOLIC DRIVE SHAKE AND TAKE MY SUPPS!!! Then on the way out I stopped at my local Starbucks drive-thru and ordered an eggnog latte. Didn’t even stop to think. I was so sleep deprived, my normal brain functions weren’t online yet.

As I pulled away and took a couple of sips, the oversweetened steamy flavor triggered something. Then my little light bulb came on, and I yelled “Oh, crap! VELOCITY DIET!!! I can’t drink this!!” So when I got to where I was going, I dumped the whole $4.65 steamy creamy mess down the sink. I remember watching it swirl away and thinking, “YES! I WIN!!” It was a victory for me to do that. I can’t believe I even brainlessly ordered it! I guess I was an auto-pilot, using old software.

A bit later I went home and got my supps and Metabolic Drive and got right back on track.

Oh, to clarify, the two or three current pics on my profile are very old, and I’ve lost 40 lbs since then, the last 15 lbs with the V-Diet. I’ll post a before and after V-Diet progress pic soon.

Anyway, back to you. Sounds like things are totally on track and you want to just lift weights and then sleep early. This sounds normal to me. Haha, I never had fantasies about green veggies either until the first week of the diet, so join the club!

Power on, man.

Scott

Man, you are so right about Massing up slowly (I won’t say bulk anymore cause it always comes with a fat gain I don’t need).

It might be a while before I consider adding more quality muscle since I want to get as lean as your pics!

And when I do mass up, I’m taking your advice to heart and SLOWLY adding the low end of the calories (250) and maintaining for at least two weeks to see if I gain any muscle and then just keep adjusting at the two week intervals.

Good stuff Lonnie!

Good story man! Eggnog Latte was my seasonal favorite before too!

Take it easy Scott!

Just a quick note, no novel tonight… after all, this is your discussion, not mine! But FYI, I posted a before and after V-Diet pic in my profile so you can see what I look like now at 313 lbs. Those other pics are old, from when I weighed close to 360!

These are shirt-off photos, so be afraid, be very afraid… And it looks like I could use a haircut, and a little sunlight!

No worries Scott.

Sorry man, nothing to be afraid of looking at your before and after pics! You should be very proud of your results! I think you made great progress, added more years to your life and built more confidence in being able to run with the V-Diet again!

It’s all good my brother! Look at the people around you and ask yourself, “How many of these people could follow the V-Diet for 28 days? How many of them can train as hard as you and stick to a regular cardio schedule?”

My answer is not many at all. It takes heart to go to the gym on a regular basis. Most people go for a little bit and then quit and say they tried everything but couldn’t get in shape.

I may have not had the best diet in the past but I always kept up my schedule in the gym out of sheer passion for lifting. I like being able to change how my body looks!

Anybody can change the way they look if they want it bad enough and have the heart to do what it takes to get it. Anybody.

OK, lemme get off my soap box now.

Hey Scott, what is your ultimate goal if you could really define it? How much do you really want to weigh and at what body fat percentage? How would you look physically once you reach that goal?

Wow, you were up late, Gus! I should talk, it’s 4:30am and I badly need my beauty sleep, hahaha…

Goals, wow. I have an intermediate goal to see what 250 lbs looks like on me, then go from there. Ultimately I’d like to be at no more than 15% bodyfat. I’ve had my body comp tested, and if it was accurate, I’m carrying over 200 lbs of lean mass. That’s a lot! So if true, 15% bf would mean 230 lbs scale weight.

I was using the slow and steady approach, and it took me a year and a half to lose 30 lbs, then I had a frustrating 6 month long plateau! It took the V-Diet to break this plateau. I’ve been using a great personal trainer for about 2 years, and it’s taken all this time to get control of my diet.

Chris Shugart is right, the slow and steady is fine for those who are just trying to improve their health, but those of us who want great physiques have to do drastic things! So I can see myself going on several V-Diet cycles to keep it going. I learned a lot about myself the first time around on it this month, and will be better prepared the next time I do it.

It really did break some bad habits I had with red meat portions, and alcohol at night. I feel and look better now because of it.

I’m pretty groggy now, don;t k4no if I[m making an y sdense, my head is fallin gon the keyboarrrrrrrrrrrr r r rr r

Gus, congrats on jumping in there and doing this velocity diet. I saw you get started the other week and I thought what the heck I’m going to give this a run too. I’m currently on day 4 and I can say that its going pretty well and I’ve been impressed with the huge drops in the first couple of days. I’ll be following your progress so keep on keepin’ on…

Here’s my pictures from the start…

Hey Gus,

Just wanted to drop by and say I’m extremely interested in seeing how your clinic turns out, you’re gonna be a beast. I find your dedication something to aspire to, count me as a fan and good luck.

Couldn’t see your pics from the link but good job starting the V-Diet during the Holidays. I thought I was the only crazy one! Ha ha!

The drops in weight are very impressive on the diet! Especially early on!

I wanna see your pics posted after your done! I enjoy watching other people improve, it’s always motivating for me. Take care Bro!

Thanks for the kind words 3030!

I’m hoping to get Stallone ripped by summertime (Sly’s Rambo 3 physique)! I won’t be as big as 210 but I’m hoping that extra muscular definition and my shoulder width will help me out. I appreciate the “beast” compliment though!

Thanks again Bro and take care!

Thanks Eventhewaves! Pics are up now.

Gus, when u did your before pics, did u take one from the front that you can post?

In that big thread, there’s only one from the side, a close up of your belly, your legs, then your back. No “front” picture. You should post that side-by-side with your 7-day “front” pic that u just posted today to give us a better look at your progress.

Dude, just wanted to chip in to say good luck!

I agree with what Thibs said in that you have shown great dedication so far- eating no christmas lunch, attending parties and only taking protein shakes ec.

Very impressive - keep it up, ok!

Still keeping my eye on you friend!

I’ll come to a definite conclusion on things at the end… and if I really like it… may even give the V-Diet a try one day!

Just saw the pictures from the end of week 1. Congrats on the 11 pounds, you are kicking ass! Keep up the good work!

Incredible first week!
