Physique Clinic discussion for gustavopacho

Thanks, Gus! My 28 days has ended the day before yours started. On my last day I was driving around town doing last minute shopping and making my shakes with a jug of ice water, pouring it into my shaker cup secured to my car’s cup holder. Threw in a bit of nutmeg to give it a little holiday spice. Then added some eggnog, just kidding…

So this is my transition week, getting ready to “do it to it” again in a few weeks or months.

I see you are off to a great start with the coffee vanilla iced Metabolic Drive-U-ccino! I once made one with leftover iced Trader Joe’s Double Dark Volcano Coffee and vanilla Metabolic Drive. WOW! ZINNGG!! I found I didn’t really need coffee while I was also taking the HRX! I went into overdrive, but it was a great morning, haha.

Enjoy the ride!

Good dedication there Scott! I never attempted making a shake while driving.

Keep that transition week tight and lemme know how much more fat you drop.

Thanks Scott, you take it easy brother!

Merry Christmas! Say, instead of Splenda, you should ask if using Stevia Extract is allowed. I used it in my coffee before starting the V-Diet, then actually didn’t drink coffee during the diet except for blending it straight black unsweetened into some of my Metabolic Drive shakes, so I don’t know if it is okay to use.

You can add me to the list of people who thought about going past the 28 days. The last 10 days were so routine, it seemed like going further was a good idea. But sanity prevailed, so I went to my transition phase and plan to go through it again later.

I posted some old “before” pics in my profile. I’ll be putting some more recent progress pics in there this week.

Oh, and I did at least pull over before making my Metabolic Drive shakes in the car! =:^)

Chris allows a little Splenda with the V-Diet but I’m keeping that to just 1 packet. I used to dump like 4 or 5 with my coffee before! Not anymore.

I’m even thinking about killing the Splenda all together! Also, I decided against diet sodas and any sugar free Crystal Light. And 1 cup of coffee max per day too.

I really want my taste buds to change for the better, so I’m going Spartan on the V-Diet!

It takes a special person to change the way they look. It is never easy and takes a lot of perseverance. You’ve got the heart and guts to get that physique you honestly deserve.

Keep up the good work Scott, I admire the success you’ve achieved so far! It is only going to get better and better!

Merry Christmas Bro!

Instead of splenda I’ve switched over to a Sweet n Low liquid(they make other brands including a splenda one, it was way more expensive though). To the best of my knowledge the liquid doesnt have any sugar in it so its totally calorie/sugar free.

If you read the splenda packet the first 2 ingredients are “Maltodextrin, Dextrose” which are sugars. The reason they use these is because sucralose is SO sweet (600x than sugar) that the amount of actual sucralose in the package is very small, so they use those as a filler.

Those 2 sugars are the same that are found in Surge, by the way. Kind of interesting.

I’m keep out any sweetners for the duration of my V-Diet and I might use a small amount though after I have completed the total program.

Those are great tips Lonnie. You do your research well and have a great dietary knowledge base.

Thanks for the information Lonnie123, take care Bro!

Good going! What’s the rest period, if any, between the two circuits?

You really sound like you have a good head on your shoulders and your heart is really in this. Such a great pick!

Sorry if someone asked this of you, already, but what do you think about the actual taste of the Metabolic Drive?

[quote]CAODEMARTE wrote:

I just take enough to time to set up my exercises which is probably 2 or 3 minutes for the B circuit.

Take it easy CAODEMARTE!

Thanks for the kind words Bro!

I’ve ordered all of the Metabolic Drive flavors in the past before. I like all the flavors except Orange.

Vanilla is my favorite though. It mixes good with everything and taste great.

I’ve tried most of the crap protein out there and Metabolic Drive is one of the best tasting proteins. Never gave me gas or stomach problems.

All the other ones claim to be lactose free but most supplement companies lie. I am extremely lactose intolerant and I wouldn’t even touch this diet if I had another protein.

Take care Undertheiron!

Good stuff, Gus! I agree with you about the orange. I got two cans with my order and wish I had instead gotten more vanilla or strawberry instead.

Metabolic Drive is the best stuff out there. It kept me nourished for 28 days and I feel great. Notice how much it sometimes sticks to the side of the blender? If it does that, it surely sticks to your stomach. It actually forms a sort of a gel once it gets into you, giving you a nice full feeling.

My transition back to food is going great. With the V-Diet, I broke a bad habit of big glasses of peppermint schnapps at night. That’s not all, but that alone has made a huge difference.

Sounds like you’re off to a great start, and are in a much better frame of mind than I was in when I started it. My first week was rough, especially Day #2 and then Day #9. Now, I’m ready to go on it again soon!

You are going to look and feel awesome when it’s done. You’re light years ahead of me muscle wise, so it’s great to watch it all happen and take part in this discussion!

Power on, man!

I’m looking forward to developing better eating habits too!
Glad you broke the schnapps habit.

When you get done with another V-Diet, post those pics up!

I checked out your before pics and I know you may have a longer road than me. And that is totally fine because you are doing what most people put off doing. And that is exercising and following a good nutrition program!

It’s a tough road to get in shape but it can be done by anyone with heart.

I have heard tons of excuses for not exercising and they are worse than the excuses for dieting.

I give you so much credit and respect Scott. You have the right mindset, attitude and information on this website to achieve whatever physique goals you desire Bro!

I can’t wait for people to compliment you on the continual changes you will make. It only gets better and better.

Take care Scott.

Gus, I am quite interested in how you have felt given the sudden switch to low carbs? I know the training day has more carbs from the workout shake, but did you feel any low blood sugar level effects like light headedness or feeling faint?

I am not trying to deflate your wings man, cause no matter what you will obviously battle on and win the war. Just interested in your experience. I can’t get Metabolic Drive in my country so I haven’t tried the V-Diet. I’m doing the A-D at the moment and was thinking of finishing off with a V-Diet with a protein I can get locally. Shugs will think that is bad, but I figure better than nothing! I would import from the US but the shipping would be a killer!

Good luck man, with your shape and skin tone you should shock some people with your change!

I don’t mind low carbs because I’ve been on an AD diet before off and on. No real bad side effects, maybe just a bit tired at night.

I liked the AD diet, I just wish I ate cleaner on it. It is a good plan but I had no discipline in my carb ups (which were extremely dirty) and I didn’t balance out my good fats and ate very little if any veggies.

I like the fact that the V-Diet helped so many people eat cleaner with the favorable changes for more vegetables which is extrememly important.

I also like the fact that I’m dropping weight even with 46 grams of carbs from the Surge post-workout! I developed a phobia of carbs after training due to my AD experience. But if it works, it works!

Today I feel like I’ve been on a 12 day induction on the AD but it is only the 4th day of the V-Diet! I know where my body is at right now and damn, this V-Diet works fast!

Take care Crucial!

Gus, when do you take your first progress photos? Be sure to post them on here for all to see, it will be interesting watching the week-by-week progression. The V-Diet works quick, so it will actually be visible progress. You are going to be a beast when you cut down that weight.

Hi Gus,
congrats on your great start of the V-Diet!

I also do not like Orange Metabolic Drive on its own that much. But I find it useful to desweeten Chocolate Metabolic Drive. Chocolate + Orange flavor is really quite nice.

How does one feel after a 12 day induction on the AD? I am on my 9th day of the V-Diet and feel a bit grumpy (perhaps, because of lack of sleep) and out of gas in the gym. Does sipping Surge during the training help you stay energized? How about the BCAA tablets?

Chris

I take the pics, tape measurements and weigh-in every Sunday morning.

I’m hoping to cut as much belly fat as possible. So far this is a good diet to rip it off from what I’m feeling and seeing.

Have you gone through this diet Lonnie123? And if so, what results did you achieve?

Take care Bro!

One usually feels like most of the water is squeezed out of their system, really glycogen depleted. I’ve done it a couple of times and drop on average 5 to 6 pounds of water.

This is how I feel now and this is just Day 4 on the V-Diet, so I’m kinda excited to see what the later weeks hold for me!

I feel a bit more tired at night than usual myself. But in the gym, I always have energy.

The Surge is good stuff and sipping half of it between sets gives me a little boost to get through those circuits.

The BCAA are really good. I used to take them before between sets through the workout. They really give you some noticeable energy for your workout.

From what I read on this site, the BCAA are effective in protecting muscle in low carb diets.

Charles Poliquin, Dr. Mauro DiPasquale, and CT are big on the BCAA. You can’t go wrong with that company of advocates!

Take it easy Chris!

I’ve been through the full diet 2 times and used its principles recently to acheive the level of leanness in my profile pics. The pics were achieved using mainly the Get Shredded Diet, however some days this was very hard so I used the V-diet on those days with good results.

The 2 times I ran the diet as outlined the results were fairly “average”… meaning I lost about 12-15 pounds of fat, kept most of my strength, and acquired the loss of cravings for bad food. Pretty good for “average” results… but thats the V-Diet for ya’.

Stay on track… Remember the Week 2 downers. Its all uphill after you make it through that week… Week 4 is downright easy and I actually found myself wanting to go for 5 or 6 weeks to acheive a little more leanness. However, the Transition takes about 2 weeks, so that takes care of getting a little leaner(cals are still lower than maintenance).

Damn Lonnie, you look incredible in your pics. Now that’s what I call a great transformation.

You Do actually look bigger than your before photo! As well as being ripped to the bone! Great Job!

I admire the amount of work you put into achieving your results.

Your average results with the V-Diet blows away the above average results of most other fad diets. No doubt!

Thanks for the advice and the increase in my own motivation with this program.

Take care Bro!
