While the calories are low, he’s being well nourished every 3 hours or so. His stomach is almost never going to be empty.

(On a related note, I read recently that many very obese people are being diagnosed with malnutrition. Tons of food, very little nourishment. Gus will be doing the opposite basically.)

But yes, it’s still a challenge, mainly because we’re so used to eating until we’re stuffed.

Hi Gus,
I would not expect to be super hungry. A little bit of hunger is to be expected, but not nearly as much as you would expect with so few calories.

I’d really like to try the cool training program you got. But I guess it’s too advanced for me. Can’t do overhead squats or power cleans with a decent weight.

Chris[/quote]

I’ve been having Vanilla Metabolic Drive with the flax seeds for the last two nights and I felt pretty good afterwards.

These were at night and I was surprised how I had no hunger pangs afterwards. The protein and fiber hit the right spot!

My starting weight with the overhead squat is not going to be a lot of weight. That exercise is tough and humbling!

Take it easy, Chris.

Congrats on this opportunity!

You’re going to look amazing in the after shots. That muscle is just going to pop.

Waterbury’s routine looks like a blast. Hard work, but it should be fun. Heck, I’m not even doing the Velocity Diet right now, but that program just looks so tempting.

Give 'er hell, man! We have your back.

Right on SBT. Thanks for the support my brother, I greatly appreciate it!

Gusta,

I am currently dieting down at the moment. When I started, I looked very similar to you, alot of fat around the mid section and thick every where else. I bet you felt great(massive) in a t-shirt, as did I. And when I looked in the mirror, I thought, yeah you look big, maybe around 15%.

THEN, I took some pics which really opened my eyes to what I really looked like and I was disgusted…my gf also said, when are you going to start cutting…you always want to gain more size…I said, thats it, its is time to cut the fat once and for all and look like a body builder.

Whats the point of training our asses off in the gym, and been too shy of taking our shirt off at the beach because of our damn lovehandles…Just letting you know of another one out there thats along for the ride which will be hard but worth it!!!

Goodluck bra

You won’t be hungry. How can you get hungry if you’re feeding every 2-3 hours? You might feel insane cravings for stuff you normally don’t care about during the first few days, but this stuff is very nourishing. If it wasn’t, I’d be sick in a hospital by now!

I’m on Day #26 and have lost 15 lbs. I’m going on it again after a few weeks (I’m 6’1" and 313 lbs). Day #2 and Day #9 were the toughest on me and I faltered a bit. Next cycle I’ll be better prepared for it mentally.

It was tough as hell staying away from some holiday gatherings where I knew there would be loads of bad food, but I did it.

It gets rough for me during ads for food. All these supermarkets with their pics of roast turkeys drove me batty.

Other than that, this is a pretty awesome diet. You’ll do great.

Scott

P.S. Here’s a video clip I made when my supps arrived:

Gymjunkie, you are so right about the T-shirt! I thought I looked “jacked” in t-shirts but in reality I was really good at sucking in my gut to make it look like I was somewhat in shape.

Even when I took my pics, I thought I wasn’t that bad a shape. But when I took my measurements, reality hit hard and I’m still pissed off with what I saw!

We are definitely on the same path and I have a feeling both of us will look very different come summertime in 2008!

Take care my brother!

undernourished and overfed

that is exactly what is happening all over the world. The aid relief groups are even sending corn and rice to feed starving people, how is this helping?

using that in mind I have been trying to make better choices.

Good job Gus, I am sure you are going to be kicking butt during and after this.

Thanks for the insight Scott! I’m curious what kind of weird cravings might hit me during my program.

15lbs in 26 days is some awesome progress, congrats!

I hear you about those food ads. I too get hungry just watching commercials. Plus I watch the worst station of all…The Food Network!! I’m making sure I don’t watch that for at least a month ha ha!

I appreciate your help Scott and that video clip of yours is hilarious! Just don’t eat the cat!

Post up a progress pic after your first or second V-Diet. I want to see those results of yours. Take care Bro!

Wow, for the luvvagawd, STAY AWAY FROM THE FOOD NETWORK! In fact, lock that channel out!

Yeah, my cat is kind of a scene stealer. I managed to not eat him during the V-Diet. He’s a little too tough and furry anyway, even with the right marinade.

Thanks OctoberGirl! I’m giving this program 100% Compliance as well as everything I have!

Thanks for your support, take care!

There is a big difference between getting people the most basic of nourishment to avoid starvation and getting jacked. If you are in a starvation situation you don’t give a fuck about what you look like and chances are you are already ‘shredded’. Second you need food that is easily digestible.

Chances are, if you give a protein shake to someone who is lucky to have ingested 300 calories in a weeks time, there is a fair chance they will yak immediately. They need easy to digest food that will breakdown in to energy quickly. Third, there is also a cost factor. You can feed a hell of a lot more people with simple carbs than with fine tuned nutritionally balanced shakes. Relief groups are saving lives, not building hot bods.

Day Minus One til V-Diet Day! The attack on fat!

Hey Gus,

Just sending some love your way. Give the program hell! I’ll be starting a couple days after you (of course the total opposite of what you’re doing though)!

YEAH!!! Kick ass, you guys!

I highly recommend mixing the banana and strawberry Metabolic Drive for a nice blend. Good stuff. I ran out of those flavors pretty fast!

Today is Day #28 for me. My cat is highly relieved. I’m planning on doing it again in a couple months.

I’m writing all these MD ideas down and trying them out, so keep them coming!

Good Job on finishing the program! What were your end results Scott?

Just as a heads up, I noticed you mentioned using Splenda in your coffee in the PC thread, that Splenda packets actually have 4 calories and 1 gram of carbs in them. The serving size is small enough that they dont have to report it, and this shouldnt be an issue if you only use 2 packets in the morning, but if you are using 5-10 a day it can definitely add up over the course of a week.

My gym isn’t open again until Wed 12/26, and my home bathroom scale never agrees with theirs! So for now, I’m sticking with their scale telling me the other day (Fri 12/21) that I lost 15 lbs in 26 days of V-Dieting.

Their electro-silly bodyfat tester has not budged in over 6-8 months from 38% even though I have lost 20+ pounds and a couple inches in that time frame. This is highly annoying! I don’t know who they make those things for, but apparently not for us. My current avi pic is actually me throwing their bf tester in the air and nailing it with my phaser.

But I’m getting great results, and I’m sure you will too!

Damn, I’ve been using at least 3 or 4 packets per cup of coffee! And more than one cup of coffee sometimes too.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m thinking of just dropping the Splenda and appreciating the flavor of just black coffee with no cream.

Good looking out Lonnie123!

Good going Scott! 15lbs in 26 days is a HUGE accomplishment!

You have the ball rolling in your direction, now just keep it rolling and keep improving! You’ve shown that you have the heart to make real changes! Right on Scott!
