Top of the morning to ya Gus!
Stellar progress as usual. Are you even flexing hard in your pictures man? It doesn’t look like it…which is amazing.
Which part of California do you live in? I need to get out to wherever the hell you are because those hills are amazing and look quite conducive to relaxation.
You set your mind on something, determined how bad you wanted it, and did what was nessecary to get it despite the difficulty. As far as life lessons go, we can all learn something from you.
Ha ha, I’m trying to flex in those pics but I need to practice that more. Seems like I flex one muscle and the other bodyparts relax. That’s a lot of work in posing, not as simple as it seems.
I live up near the Bay Area and that hill was near my old house in Fremont. It’s called Mission Peak and it is a pretty good hike.
Thanks again for your very cool and kind words Sayjin. Take care my Brother!

The latest pics are imppressive Gus. Dang!
BUT is the NEXT TEST going to be the toughest for my man Gus? Gus, will you be able to comsume 200-300 gr. of junk as your last meal Fri. night!?!? LOL This may be the hardest part after being clean for so long.
I am sure you’ll dutifully handle like all the rest of the challenges but just thinking of doing that makes me a little ill. How about you?

I haven’t had garbage food in awhile so this is going to be interesting. My cravings are for like big baked yams with cinnamon and a huge plate of whole wheat pasta with a couple of low carb Shugart pizzas!
I am looking forward to it though ha ha! It’ll be fun!
Has your Transformation improved things in the…uh…“cuddling” department?
What does the wife think of all this?
Congratulations, friend!

Thank you Mufasa! The new body helps out very much in the “cuddling” department ha ha! We are good there!
My wife loves the physique and she helps me out a lot with the dieting. She can’t picture me anymore at 210-220lbs. She knows that bodybuilding is my passion and favorite thing to do and she is very supportive, always is!

Great pics dude. Whenever I am around people who have no clue about T-Nation, I always say, “Hey come come check this guy out”. It always ends up with them saying Wow, he looks awesome, especially from where you started. What in the world does your family say about how phenomenal you look now?
Man, that is very cool to hear, Right on!
My wife loves the changes and my family sees the changes but do not comment on it too much…maybe they are trying to keep my ego in check ha ha! They are supportive of me.
My friends trip out the most, especially the ones I haven’t seen since I was heavy and big. They always note my face first(I had a big round face before) and then they freak out on my veins and shape(I bought new shirts that compliment my taper so now it looks pretty tight!).
Those compliments really help in firing me up for my workout sessions and keeping strict on the diet. It’s those little things that go a long way with me.

When I grow up, I want to look like Gus. Arms and shoulders are incredible.
Ha ha, thanks Mike! I’m digging the arms now too! They look way better at 16 1/2 then they did at close to 18 inches. The veins are fun to check out for me.
Holy shit bro…those pics are freaking amazing man def those arms are killer bro…congrats on the amazing progress and lets see what you look like after the “shredded in 6 days” program is up I sure its going to be amazing!!! way to kick ass man!!!
This is just insane, Gus. I know it’s one day at a time, but I bet you’re looking forward to seeing what you can do with your physique a year from now.
As I guessed. YOU spent the time lifting heavy and eating up and that slapped the beef onto your frame. Whodathunkit?
The physique that has been “revealed” (lats, arms, shoulders, etc) to everyone was originally built with lifting and eating heavy and for some reason there’s now a bunch of kids here who think all they need to do is “V-diet off the fat” and they’ll look like you.
While you look a TON better without the 20-30 pounds of flab, I find it surprising no one here on the forum was curious about the training and eating regime that slapped all that muscle onto your frame in the first place.
Years to slap the beef on, months to trim it down. Good work, son.

I used a lot of progressive overload as my main training protocol. I was stuck on just pushing as much weight up as I can even with body english.
My thing was making sure to push for more and more weight!
I used to diet off and on with very little success and the last two years I decided to just eat up and lift heavy. I liked doing heavy laterals with 75 lbs, Bent rows with 3 wheels and lots of cheating, etc.,… Works great for size gains and eating everything I wanted helped to pack on the weight of course. I’m looking forward to the results from this thing too! This program is tough with all the restroom visits and I am really hungry on this one. I need that Friday eat up day!

Just inspirational. You’re dedication and discipline makes me want to push myself harder in the gym and helps me not cheat on my eating plan.
Right on Zelazo, keep consistent with your training and nutrition and you can really make some serious changes. Being consistent is just so damn important in getting those results! Make it happen Z! Take care

Great work, man.
Thank you for all those side by side pics you put up. They really help me see the amount of change I’ve made!
I’m planning on upping my lean body mass by this time next year and staying relatively lean. So, I’m just going to add lean mass slowly and consitently.

Man, I trained hard for my initial muscle mass. I started off being one of those skinny fat dudes in high school and have been pushing for more and more muscle mass all these years.
The big key for me was using heavier and heavier weights. I figured that if I can incline bench 300 lbs for reps then my chest, delts and triceps have to grow.
I think the V-Diet works especially great if you have a good muscular base even if it is covered with a couple of inches of fat. I don’t know about doing it when you have no mass to speak of. It just doesn’t work that way. Skinny kids have no choice but to lift heavy and eat more in order to grow. They need to build some kind of muscular base.
You’ve seen Rocky, right? This is the part of the clinic where we’d transform into little kids and chase you around town as you hop over park benches. This is the final push man - take what is rightfully yours!
You’re muscle is just popping out everywhere in the latest photos. Amazing progress with respect to definition. I look forward to seeing the final pics this week, and am also curious what you plan to have for the junk carb up. I’m amazed at how detailed CT has been with respect to this final week. Your PC thread is a gold mine. Congrats on reaching single-digits!

Wow…I am absolutely floored with your ability to survive on so few calories for so long while holding onto all that muscle and losing all that fat!
True inspiration. Looking forward to the shredded pics. Have any idea what type of sugar meal you’ll be eating yet?
Thanks Tor, I’ve been training for a while so I knew I had a good base of muscle under my blubber.
And the V-Diet taste changes (which are still going) really helped with me enjoying the food even though there wasn’t much to eat. I got used to eating this amount and eating a ton of veggies really do help fill me up.
I’m still thinking if I should go to IHOP and load up on the pancakes and syrup or to See’s candies and just eat chocolates. CT advocates more sugary food and less pastries to avoid bloat so I’m still mulling it over.
