Holy shnikes!

The new pics are great Gus. Front pic #2 you have a full on 6 pack! You look like one of those before and after guys on an ab roller infomercial, lol. Maybe Chuck Norris will be calling you up for his next commercial.

I have a ton of stuff going on in my life right now and training helps give me the alone time I need to just focus on me and nothing else.

I know exactly what you mean. Training has to be the best form of therapy there is. Not just the alone time, and the working out. But the endorphine release when your done with a great workout is amazing, and just puts me into a great mood.

Keep up the good work, man!

I’d say it is just barely a four pack to be honest. I want those abs defined enough so that they flex when I laugh.

You are right, those hard ass workouts are the best forms of therapy. Sometimes I get so focused on what I’m doing in the gym that everything else melts away including my stress and problems. And that endorphine release is addicting too. Take care.

Dammmmnnnnnnn…LOVE the progress bro. I began your new workout just yesterday and hardest bit was hanging onto the bar during the deadlifts in the series ey. Its a very different routine…I like!!

I am pretty much at the same point as you in terms of bf…however, I am holding a tiny less fat on my abs and more on my lower back…funny how different peoples bodies are ey.

GJ
That deadlift day is pretty brutal but effective! I was having a challenge with my grip on the delt day with all the shrugs since Coach CT does not advocate wrist straps. Good forearm workout though!

That routine should get rid of that low back fat for sure! Take care GJ!

You the man, Gus…today was the last day of V-Dieting for me and now I really gotta play catch up to the V-Diet patron saint…lol. Seriously, looking at the new pics I know why Coach Thibs made the Stan McQuay comparison. Keep it going man…SPARTAN STYLE!!!
Good job Qaash! I love your Spartan Style quote since you did create it! I see you are going to hit up CW’s programs. Right on! Chad’s got some great routines. Keep up with your posts and you can retire them when we see your six pack and barn yard wide shoulders!

Thannks for the kind words Qaash, take care my brother!

Wow, you are starting to sport the shoulder vein I always wanted. . .
Thanks man, that vein also covers the stretch marks on my delt too!
Judas wrote:
holy fuck you look lean now man good work, congrats must feel great
I am feeling a lot more confident in my progress and I just have my eyes focused on being wickedly lean and shredded! Not the easiest thing to do but I’m getting there slowly!

Gus as always I’m amazed.
Ok so I have a little plea for help. Finished the 4 week V-Diet on Feb 11, lost 26lbs and around 29" off the body, have put back on about 4-5 inches here and there and weight ballooned a little due to a 5 day trip to Paris but I am now at about the exact weight I finished the diet (managed to get 2lbs lower than V-Diet finish last week) and bring my total weight down over 6 years from 350lbs to 215lbs. Great results, just have 1 problem.

What to do next? I know its a strange question, but for someone who has spent almost all their training time losing fat should I just keep going? Need to get a solid BF% reading but I can’t imagine I’m anywhere near the 10% neighbourhood that Shugart suggests for FFB to get to before they bulk. Anyone have an ideas as to where I should turn next? Shugart, please finish your book soon so I can just pass it on to people when they ask me what I did, and so I can buy lots of copies as a thank you.

Good job on that 26 pound fat loss BW. Paris must have been fun and I can see with all their good food why you might have packed on a bit here and there. You still got the it back down which is a good showing of your control.

If you are not happy with how your body looks and feel like you can still lean up even more, then go for it! Get lean, get to under 10 percent if you have never been there and see how much you like it. Heck, 10 percent might not be enough, maybe 7 percent to really see the grooves in your abs and linea alba! Shock yourself with how you would look like. Shock others who didn’t think you could ever achieve that with you body. You decide how you want to look and then get there.

I don’t see any reason to stop and bulk up. I’ve been bulking up for 20 years and you know what, I’m tired of it. I know I can pack on weight quick, no question about that. Now, I want to see and feel what being honestly “ripped” is all about.

Look at Coach CT, that man is in super shape in the off-season. He has deep abs before his contest prep! Now that is just “sick”!

Hey Gus, I need an honest answer from you…

Obviously you were prepared to give this clinic your all, but did you ever think that you would actually achieve even what you have already?

No, I didn’t think I was going to get this lean, this quickly! I was just focused on finishing the V-Diet strong and seeing how much fat I could really drop. I thought my Physique Clinic would stop after the V-Diet finish and then I would go about getting lean on my own.

I’ve never been this lean before and I am shocked about my results. I’ve wanted to live out this goal for a long, long time.

Hey gus, just wanted to say you’ve been a huge inspiration to me and to keep up the great work. I started my V-Diet right around the same time as the start of your Physique Clinic. Watching you, bartl and the others’ progress really helped me stay on track. I’m down from 257 to 225 since early December and can’t wait to keep going. Keep it up buddy we’re all pullin’ for you!

Right on BT, 32 pounds down! That’s great man! I appreciate the support and would like to support you to keep going down that scale until those abs pop out! Go for it man. Shock everybody you know with your new physique…this December! You can change so much in such a little time. Man, you just gotta love bodybuilding for that!

Gus,

Where in the Bay Area are you, if I may ask? You can PM me as well if you prefer.

Whole Foods rocks, though I would never cut my loyalty to Trader Joe’s; they sometimes have stuff that Whole Foods doesn’t, and I like that their stores are a bit smaller and you don’t spend as much time getting tempted to buy stuff you don’t need

Sick physique. When do we get another batch of photos? Keep it up!

I update my progress every two weeks. Next Sunday will be my next weigh in, pics and measurements. I figure every two weeks will be enough time from where I am at right now to see some good progress.

The majority of my fat is gone thanks to the Physique Clinic and now I’m just working hard to get into a wickedly ripped and chiseled shape! I want to get into a contest shape without doing a contest.

Yo Gus,

Just checking in:

Weight: 185 on Friday (pre carb up)
189 on Sunday (post carb up)

183 or less come this Saturday - Scout’s honor!

That’s cool man! Under 186 before carb up, right on. I’m gonna hold you to that 183 Sayjin. BTW, what is your finish line goal weight that you want to get too past that 183 lbs?

178 was my pre-determined goal when I started my log since I wanted to fight at the 178 weight class, but since then I’ve decided to move up to the 200lb weight class - mainly because I love eating food way too much to want to maintain 178 year round.

So, my goal is still 178 with some visible lower abs, and at that point I’ll slowly gain weight (2-3lbs a month) while at the same time improving my conditioning until I can hit 195-198, where I will sit year round.

When are we going to see some BF% measurements? I applaud your progress and dedication. You have inspired me to start the V-Diet in April. However, after 28 V-diet days and 35 days into NLT it would be great to learn some BF% measurements to go along with the photos.

I’m actually heading out tonight to get tested by a reputable trainer. I took some measurements yesterday with these calipers I ordered and the chart in the book put me at 20.4 percent bodyfat at 180 lbs.

I don’t know how accurate this is and will compare it to my results tonight. I guess the good part about this is that I can see some abs at 20 percent bodyfat…if my readings are correct.

Really jealous after seeing the recent pic of the new supplements  BCAAs and Greens type stuff is really expensive in Australia, especially Biotest stuff :frowning:

Your progress is inspiring, yours and Dan John’s V-Diets were the ones that made me want to try (and finish) it.

Can’t recommend enough taking BF% measurements too as a guide. This week I put on just shy of a kg while only increasing calories 250/day (I was losing 1-2kg/wk… ) but I’d also introduced creatine and been bulk drinkign water. The measurements dropped in chest and waist and teh BF% was down another 0.5%+ again so I felt wicked!!

I didn’t pick you at 20% BF. I’d be interested to see what Chris thinks of that estimate.

20% can’t be right! Your photos look more like 10%. However, it would be good to know what the photos reflect in terms of an acccurate BF%. Keep up the great work!
