The new workout looks nice and hard!! I am going to adopt your exact routine, so will be feeling the pain ever step of the way. I am pretty much at the same stage you are in terms of bf level, may have slightly more in my lovehandle region…dammit…but abs coming out well etc.
Planned on switching thing up and the principles in your new routine looks great May not be exactly the same in terms of exercises, but same principles. I am currently using the same style of work as in Bartl’s OLD workout, with rubber band work and its has been stripping fat off!! along with low intensity cardio and a super gangsta diet…lol.
Anyway, goodluck bro!!

The workouts are pretty tough but I like them a lot. I’m actually walking around very gingerly right now because my back, low back, abs and chest are just crisp and sore!
You know a workout is good if the muscles are that sore so quickly. Good luck with your training and push hard till the love handles are history. No let up, ever.
Take care GJ!
In light of me going through the initiation phase of the Anabolic Diet, I dont think it would be fair to weigh in against you on Sunday, since I’m sure most of the weight I lose this week will be glycogen and subsequently water. This round goes to you my friend, but after Sunday, its on again - prepare!

Mr. Sayjin, no problem man! Good luck with the AD, it is a great diet if you follow it correctly. Keep those carb ups clean and watch for all those hidden carbs.
Gotta love your enthusiasm my friend…yes after Sunday…it’s on! Let’s see how hard you can really push it!

I don’t like to play the cheerleader, but if he sticks to the diet and my program I really believe that in 8 weeks he could look like a slightly smaller version of Stan McQuay. He has an almost identical structure.[/quote]
That’s funny because when I logged on to T-Nation this morning I thought for sure that the tech guys made a mistake and posted a pic of Stan McQuay next to Gus. Awesome progress, Gus, just awesome.
Gus, you da man!
I’m sure it’s already been said a couple of hundred times, but your progress over the past few months has been nothing short of phenomenal. Keep up the amazing work; we’re all rooting for you here.

Very cool of you to say Mike, thanks man. I just want to kick up the intensity even higher and make better changes. Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words ghost, it does mean a lot to me and I take the support seriously and am very grateful.
I’m also psyched up to see that new Iron Man movie too! I just saw a preview of it on the Beowulf dvd last night and as soon as I heard Black Sabbaths’s Iron Man song playing, I was hooked. That song brings back cool memories of the Road Warriors and how the stormed in with that Iron Man song!
And the pounds keep dropping like turds from airplanes - congrats on your continued success, Gus! And did you thought you could sneak that new pose by us?! Looks like you’re getting more and more comfortable in your own skin as well.
The new pics are great Gus. Front pic #2 you have a full on 6 pack! You look like one of those before and after guys on an ab roller infomercial, lol. Maybe Chuck Norris will be calling you up for his next commercial.
I know exactly what you mean. Training has to be the best form of therapy there is. Not just the alone time, and the working out. But the endorphine release when your done with a great workout is amazing, and just puts me into a great mood.
Dammmmnnnnnnn…LOVE the progress bro. I began your new workout just yesterday and hardest bit was hanging onto the bar during the deadlifts in the series ey. Its a very different routine…I like!!
I am pretty much at the same point as you in terms of bf…however, I am holding a tiny less fat on my abs and more on my lower back…funny how different peoples bodies are ey.
You the man, Gus…today was the last day of V-Dieting for me and now I really gotta play catch up to the V-Diet patron saint…lol. Seriously, looking at the new pics I know why Coach Thibs made the Stan McQuay comparison. Keep it going man…SPARTAN STYLE!!!

Thanks Sayjin, I guess I’m getting more comfortable in taking these pictures and posting them up for all the T-Nation to see. No pressure…Ok, just a little pressure ha ha. Take care Bro and let me know what you weigh in at next Friday. I hope I can chop off at least a pound myself.
