Gus, your doing great!
Today was day 15 for me and on my weigh in I was down 14lbs, this is just crazy good stuff…

Don’t be discouraged by your 3 lbs. in 9 days progress. You’ve apparently got less bodyfat to lose so your progress will be slower. Make sure however to adhere to the V-Diet “rules” and “guidelines” to the T.
Keep it up.
I think I’m stickin to the rules/guidelines to a T. I have 5 shakes a day (Metabolic Drive) 3 have flax added in. That’s it. 1 solid meal a week which I didn’t go overboard on. I have a New York Strip (7-8 oz) and a package of portabella mushrooms. I know I don’t have as much fat to lose but it irritates me still because I see everyone else on the V-Diet losing like 10 lbs in the first week or so and I’m at 3 lbs…and suffering just as bad haha. Started doing my NEPA walks with a 50 lb vest on to up it some. Maybe that’ll help?
Gus, Keep up the good work, no Lie I wanted to have solid food so bad yesterday I turned on the food network just to see the solid food since right now I have nothing in my pantry/fridge that is solid. Then I re read some of your logs and figure I’ll make it through. Best of luck.

Nice progress Tex, keep pushing harder and make this count!

Keep at it LM. You still have a lot of days left to drop more. Just keep pushing and always do those walks!
Yah gonna do my walk in a bit even though I’d love to just go to bed. I suppose I’ll sleep when I’m dead though.

Gus,
It’s day 9 for me and reading that you are beginning to see your abs just put me in a different gear again! Congrats as I know that’s a huge accomplishment. Heck, I’d be happy to see the vein on my right bicep at this point let alone abs.
I hear you on the stomach growling (no pun intended)…it can get loud sometimes especially in class or work and the room’s quiet.
On the 70% of the time eating clean…I did the same thing as I thought, “Why can everybody else eat this stuff and look okay but I can’t?” One, most of those I was referring to were 10-15 years younger. Two, as a FFB, I just can’t.
I like what was said in the recent Fat Loss interview (I think Chris said it) that a “cheat meal” makes me feel Ablike I’m actually rewarding myself…with the very thing that’s causing me to diet and feel bad! Truly backward’s thinking.
Keep watching and flexing those abs as they etch in!
Devo
My stomach is loud in class too ha ha! It’s all good though. I was probably thinking of steak or one of those healthy beef stew recipes from Shugart.
Abs are coming in slowly and from the top down. There is a lot of work I have to do even past the V-Diet but I’m real confident in doing this with the new taste changes. Long term is where its at.
Stay strong Devo and keep pushing hard to your goal.
Insane!
WOW!!! Looking great Gus!!

Thanks Ruszx, I’m just focused on pushing harder and harder.
A few rapid-fire Qs for you, Gus:
-
I’m about to start the same workout that Waterbury created for your V-Diet program. Am I correct that the “Monday” weightlifting session is only approx 20 mins? Each cycle (including rest) seems to take approx 2 minutes, so 7 of those is only 14 minutes! Then there’s the planks, but that seems to be an incredibly short workout. Of course I’m expecting it to be incredibly intense, but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something…?
-
When you say you used 65 lbs. for your dips, are you using a dipping belt/chain with a 65 lbs. dumbbell as added weight?
-
I’ve seen Chris say that calories stay the same throughout the 4 weeks. Maybe this is a question for him rather than you, but I don’t quite understand why he doesn’t recommend adjusting the calories downward (at least once, say, after 2 weeks). Instead of 1700 / 1420 on training / non-training days (which are approx my targets), why doesn’t he start at perhaps 1750 / 1470, and then drop to 1650 / 1370 after two weeks. Seems that such a progression would keep the body’s metabolism from adjusting…?
Nice work Gus!!! Your hard work is definitely paying off. Keep rollin!!

The workout is short and to the point. I’m in and out in under 45 min, including warm ups and mobility drills.
- When you say you used 65 lbs. for your dips, are you using a dipping belt/chain with a 65 lbs. dumbbell as added weight?
Yup, I use my own dipping belt. The gym doesn’t have any available for it members, sheesh.

I don’t question his program, I just follow it and get the results. I don’t need to over analyze every detail, I just want results. I’m sure Chris has good reason for keeping the calories the same throughout.
Take it easy.

Thanks man, time is flying by and I’m almost done.
Take care Tmoney1!
I can relate to the growling gut! On Day #2 I was in a supplement store buying BCAAs, and my stomach was growling so loud, I could hear it echoing off the shelves!!! That was a tough day. But V-Dieters are tougher. I’m ready to do it again in a few weeks!
Gus, wow, you are still blowing the doors off my 15 lbs in less than half the time. You da man!
Scott
Wow Gus! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, that stomach growling is my cue to get a shake in and fast. After drinking the shake, I’m totally fine and can go about my business until the next 3 hour mark!
I give credit to every person who has honestly completed the V-Diet following Chris’s instructions. This diet is not easy but absolutely worth it. The fat just peels right off you and fast!
Actually, you da man Scott. Takes a true warrior to run through the V-Diet twice! I’m sure second time around is easier knowing what you have to do.
Much success to you my brother!

Just wondered if there is any advice, or any experience related tips, you have for any of us spurred on to doing the V-Diet?
Seriously though, great transformation, and i can’t wait to see your pics on sunday!
Stay strong!
Most of my advice is in my thread but if I can recap here:
-stay out of the kitchen and away from any place with tempting food. The “proximity defense” is real and extremely helpful. I stayed in the car most of the time when my wife had to pick up food. I also stayed in the kitchen long enough to make a shake and bounced out quick.
You will be tempted to eat something and the best thing to do is go over your personal goals in detail. Picture how you want to look in your head. Heck, pretend you are there and feel the ridges from your six pack and what you would say about it. Your subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between something imagined and what is real, so go with it and realize it.
I imagined all my fat around my waist melting away with my sweat when I do my walks. I do this for a good 10 to 15 minutes while walking and it helps a lot.
If you do have to be around tempting food then keep your rubber band ready (see PC thread article from Chris) or keep one hand pinching the fat around your waist. I did this a lot to remind myself how easy it is to pack it on. People will look but so what. That’s the last time they will see that fat on me anyway. They’ll be asking advice from me on how to lose weight later so I let them look.
Keep variety with you shakes. Add cinnamon, tsp of instant coffee, or even mix 1 scoop of Metabolic Drive with another. Banana and Chocolate Metabolic Drive is great! Experiment, try thick shakes or thinner shakes with more water. And if you have to chew something than eat the peanut butter or even the flax while you drink.
I ate the peanut butter for a few days but decided against it just to initiate more taste changes!(I like being strict with the V-Diet cause it seems to give me more results!) This doesn’t mean you can’t eat peanut butter, it is still on the program for you. I’m just weird.
I drink ton of water but you can use a little Crystal Light or some of the sugar-free Da Vinci syrups Chris advocated to your shakes. I liked iced green tea occasionally with some Fiber sure if I’m a little more hungry between shakes than usual.
One more thing, the more you pig out before the V-Diet, the more you will suffer. I pigged out because I celebrated all my holiday eating early but I paid for it! Think about it, I went from eating probably 3500 calories to 1500! Oops! Oh, I had hunger pangs that I shouldn’t have. It wore off by the second week but it was needless suffering on my part.
At this point I’m numb to any sugar filled food (I used to have a vicious sweet tooth!) and it has now switched to having a vicious health food urge. I want chicken, steak, veggies, spinach salads and any fruit for desert. I want to make healthy bodybuilding crock pot recipes and eat it three times day.
I feel I’ve been going through garbage food detox and this V-Diet Physique Clinic was my intervention!
Take care Roweski
