Last week someone asked whether the odac was worth it. Several replies were negative and one (mine) was positive. I first did the odac last year and did it again, partially, yesterday (Monday Nov 12). This is a report on my results the day after the second trial. I’ll post again in a week to ten days to let you all know if there is anymore improvement or…
Now the results from the day after: increase of 1/4". Went from 15 1/4" to 15 1/2". I think that is pretty good. At least I am happy with it! The first time I did the odac I gained about 1/2" in a week.
This time I could not do the full odac program since I was ‘busy’ the night before so I did not get to the gym until late - 12:30pm. Also the gym closed early, 4:00pm. I had to shorten the rest period between Program A/B.
Stay tuned for the ‘final’ results in about ten days. In the next post I’ll review my supplement and diet program as well.
My experience has been that one only benefits from it if they have been grossly undertraining for several month prior to the ODAC. But…everybody is different and it is worth one day out of your life to try it. You certainly will be very sore for several days.
Davo, you are correct in a sense. When I read your reply I couldn’t help smiling as I pictured a skinny overfat computer geek (or whatever) saying that ‘all those muscles are just the result of trauma from exercise and the subsequent swelling’. Yup sounds like a decent simplified explanation of hypertrophy to me ;-). Anyways I appreciate your comment and question. When I did this routine last year everyone in the gym doubted it would produce any results. Then when I did it and got results they doubted that the results would last because they figured it was just ‘swelling and trauma’. That of course is a possibility - that the swelling is a temporary inflamation-induced effect. So logically at some time the ‘swelling’ would go down. In my experience it didn’t. In fact the full growth response took more than a week to manifest. That is why I am going to post results here in another ten days or so. If this routine works it is because it DOES induce trauma. The trauma must be healed and compensated for. This is what exercise for size is all about, right? Do damage, recover, get bigger, repeat.
I’m a 197 pound, 8% bodyfat computer geek, thank you very much! And seriously, I seem to recall some other strength coaches bashing the one day cure saying something about temporary swelling, and I’m not talking about the “pump” or hypertrophy. Believe me, I wish it worked, but yours is the first positive result I’ve heard.
I got good results: 1/8 inch last december, and just about 1/8 inch in June. However as I stated on a past post my triceps volume is usully 6setsX10reps once a week and and 5X5 once a week and plus 2 extra 100 rep band press downs(westside), however my bicep work is usually 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps twice weekly.
Both my wo partners got similar results, however unlike many people we definalty got sore, but not nearly as bad as we thought. It wasn’t close to the pain and cramping of a intense leg workouts, done after returing to full time lifting when rugby season ends.
