nice job man. I’ll take you up for a small challenge. Even though I’m 15kg heavier, I’m going to shoot to beat you and Mike Graber (who’s a 56/62kg lifter) now. I’m going for 80/100.

see you there.

What the hell, you’ve been attacking me all this time and you barely managed a bodyweight snatch? And then all of a sudden you’re thinking of competing? I thought a BW snatch is a far cry from competition?? Unless of course, you’re a superheavyweight.

Heck, if all it takes to become legit to compete in weightlifting is by snatching your bodyweight then I DON’T NEED A COACH!

Sorry for the arrogance guys. It’s directed ONLY for Sneaky Weasel. All the other dudes who posts in this log, please ignore this message… Thank you for your consideration.

You don’t snatch bodyweight. You aren’t even close to bodyweight. Come on Type2B, don’t be this stupid.

Going to competitions is one of the ways you get better at Olympic lifting. You cant think you’ll do well at them without practicing lifting in them. A bodyweight snatch does not make you ‘competitive’ in that it doesn’t qualify you for national events. But it is a milestone.

You don’t know anything about the sport. Sneaky Weasel made a big accomplishment that you are still a full year from (if not more.) So shut up.

Also, Congratulations Sneaky! I’ll see you at the Garden State Games.

5.3

actually did this workout all in one peice.

PowerCleans
40x3
50x3
60x3
67x2x3

Snatch
40x3
45x3
50x3
55x3
60x2x4 [meh]

Clean and Jerks
50x2+2
60x2+2
67x2+1
75x1+1
85x1+1
90x1+0 [missed jerk, rough clean, racked to far in front but made it anyhow. PR for heaviest clean with terrible rack +5kg lol]

Clean pull
90x2x3
100x2x4

Front Squats
80x2x4

bodyweight is still high, but my gut is disappearing quickly. More cardio shalt be added.

Definitely felt explosive today, really working on keeping my knees out during the pull, feels good. Snatchs were meh b/c of keeping knees out plus the bar was moving so fast and high that I was being caught off balance on recieving it. Gotta be faster under I guess. One of the lifters in the gym thought it was odd that I was powersnatching 10kg under my best, but really, I’ve powersnatched my best snatch before I squat snatched it.

@type2B

dude, once you can snatch and clean and jerk, you should be competing. Who cares if your competitive? everyone needs the experience on the platform, its 100% different for most folks then training. For me, example, I’m usually really nervous with my opening snatch’s, but in training I’m fine. In the clean and jerks I’m usually really confident, but in training, I’m not! You don’t know how a competition affects you until you do one. And the more the better.

I mean shit, I’m barely just eeking out a bodyweight CLEAN. I’m training my guts out to try and have a shot @ snatching bodyweight by end of the year. Will I be competitive? Hell no! Specially in this area, the top/mid level 85’s are snatching 120 and up!

just do it for the fun man. i mean, shit…

I should also note, my jerks were phenominal today, save for the last one. Really got into a deep split and was very stable.

Nice work Sneaky!

Type2B - you’ve been posting here for all of 5 minutes and already you’re ragging on other lifters about things you know nothing about. I suggest you keep quiet and listen for a change. You want to know the minimum standard to compete? The ability to lift an empty bar.

Congrants Sneaky, I’ll be seeing u at the Garden State Games. Vids?

6/1/09 Training in Bmore

Legs and traps were sore as hell from the night before.

Snatch:… up to 56kg.
-I tried 65kg, but I was cutting the pull short since I could not keep my c.o.r.e as tight as I normaly do. I missed it infront, behind (big loop), and in front.
-went down to 50kg and did 3 more snatches.
-then 55kg x2

Snatch pulls:… up to 55kg.
-I started light, at 40kg, focusing on a full extension and big shrug at the top.
-Although i had to keep things light the good news is that the Shrug is becoming 2nd nature.

Back Squats:… 0kg.
-did too many and too heavy yesterday. (As I type this my legs+traps getting more sore)

Shoulder Presses:
-I really wanted to push these fuckers got stuck with 60kg for 3reps last time.
-Got it up to 65kg 1rep.
—>However, it was the uglies press ever. Since I could not tighten on my right side, my right elbow shifted forward and the bar was at an angle. Left arm locked first, followed by the right arm.

I stopped right there…

Rotator Cuff stuff with 5kg plate.

Curls

Stretched and GO HOME!
→ time do O.D on ZMA and Flameout

Your main problem is your attitude and underappreciation for the time/effort it takes for the sport. No one cares how much you can or can’t lift if you come off as an arrogant prick, especially coming from someone has little to no experience such as yourself. As a beginner you need to be a lot more humble and stop over-analyzing everything.

I do appreciate the time and effort it takes to become successful. What I don’t appreciate is when people attack me… I remember Sneaky Weasel attacking me on other threads. Judging from his tone, i thought he was a national level weightlifter. I was wrong.

You certainly didn’t act that way in several prior threads talking about not needing a coach; that mix of arrogance and immaturity will get on some people’s nerves. The weightlifting community is small, and those who don’t check their ego at the door aren’t welcome here. As has been stated to you numerous times before, there’s nothing wrong with being a beginner or needing help, just don’t pretend to be something you’re not.

well that makes sence Weighty… I though u had shit coached like the ones Avocado had to put up with in Canada (then again it makes sence, its Canada).

My training gets interupted becasue of college+work (which is by no means equal to family+real work), but to not loose a full day of training I bought some Squat Stands for $160 on Ebay and I used by brother’s old bar+weights (up to 365lbs worth of weights). I also got an Ab Wheel and door chin up bar.

That way, even if I am busy I can still do a 1/2 decent workout at home. If ur going to be able to do Oly 1 or 2 times a week tops, I recommed u get a similar set. Nothing for doing max stuff, but still heavy enough. [/quote]

ha ha lol, my coaches are pretty good actually. On of them use to c&j 155 at 77kg and press 127kg at the same weight!

I don’t worry too much about strength since that far outweighs my ability. Front Squatted 170x2 last week and back squatted 185kg 3x3 but still managed to miss 125kg clean on saturday… twice!

Trained yesterday, decided to have a fairly easy session due to the rubbish one on saturday.

C&J 102.5 3x(2+2)
Snatch Balance - worked up to a single with 100
Back Squat 170 3x2
DUMBBELL CURLS 20kg 2x10 - nicely pumped ha ha

hopefully it’ll be a productive session tomorrow.

I’m totally right there with you. I wish I was able to see my coach more often than I do.

Today :

5.4 [early afternoon session]

Press from squat snatch position
20x4
30x4x4

Jerk from Shoulders
50x3
60x3
70x3
75x2
85x2 [PR, actually made both, no misses at all! lol]

Clean lift offs
70x3
90x2x3
100x2
110x2x3

bw was 97.0 on the nose… wtf!!!

Late Afternoon session (5PM]

PowerSnatch from blocks
40x3x2
45x3
50x3
55x2x2

Snatch from blocks
50x3
55x3
60x2x5 [missed a few in here, learnt my lesson, no pausing from end of first pull to second pull]

Snatch pull from blocks
70x4x4 [oh god]

Clean from blocks
40x3
50x3
60x3
70x3
77.5x2x3 [dear lord my hands are DESTROYED at this point]

Clean pull from blocks
90x3
100x2x4 [thank god for straps]

Front squats
75x3x4 [easy but rough so tired[

bw was 96.7 oy. better be 94 on the 27th.

figured out my openers, shooting for 70/90. wrist feels ok. Still annoying. Grr

I tried to train today but the area directly above my right knee started hurting like crazy whenever I do more than a 1/4 squat.

I had to call it quits for my oly session.

I went home and did 5x5 chin-ups with some curls and forearm work instead.

I have physio on Friday. I hope this gets fixed quickly, I miss my old friend Mr. Squat.

Also, anybody here want to have a race to a 100kg C&J? I’m at 80kg jerk and ~100kg clean right now. Not sure how long my knee will be messed up though. Train hard all.

LOL. It’s not the whole country’s coaches. just this one guy. Just remember who had olympic athletess in 2008 and who didn’t my southern friend. Not that either of our athletes stand a farts chance in an “axe body spray” commercial of winning shit against the euros.

Pffft. Dude how can you be surprised that people attack you when you come on here trolling with a vengeance and openly admitting to it? You say ridiculous things and then people tell you your full of shit? how is that a surprise when that is the expected response?

So basically SW has the same claim to downing your random posting that you have to posting it. He could be a professional cribbage player with on OWL exp and still tell you your full of it if he knows your full of it.

the other thing is you dont have a hand to shit in when it comes to OWLing. You cant even tell the difference between a OL bar and a regular one. You dont have a coach. dont have a club. Dont even really have a program. And that program doesnt even include and classic/dynamic lifts.

So when SW hits a BW Sn of 78kg he’s 100% more savvy to OWL than you who don’t even Sn the bar. I would love to see you come in and Sn 78kg.

There is not one soul on this board who thinks you are worth a shit. So what do you post here for? this is a community that is here primarily to support itself and help each other out. No one wants to help you now and it seems that most people have you on mute anyways. I know your young and random but why not join in in a constructive way?

In other news: see how i got the yellow background all rearranged? Now i think its totally random. I hate being the yellow background.

APPENDIX A

[quote]TYPE2B wrote:
05,31,2009

Front squats (ATG, pause, stance is slightly wider than shoulder width)
185x2
195x2
225x2
255x2
255x2
255x2 (workout seemed incredibly easier than the past days)

Snatch grip deads (no more grip problems!)
245x2
245x2

Power jerks from the rack (These are fun!)
135x (4 singles)[/quote]

SW out snatches your rack jerk. So if rebuttle is based on lifts then I dont think you have many words to work with.
