Whats your 1RM? I think it very much depends on your training load. I was only doing squats in the gym, nearly nothing else for 7 weeks. I’d take 5-10 off that would make for a good target imo.

Koing[/quote]

Thanks Koing, my 1RM is 147 recently for back, and front is 125, but that was quite a bit ago. I’m thinking I might do this for Fronts, just because I have been neglecting them lately. Thanks for the help and advice.

The sparkly lights and light-headedness that you get after really fast/heavy/shitty lifts. Zoomies. Good stuff. I almost positive it’s residuals from previous concussions.

-chris

zoomies haha… i call it ‘the spins’ and get them after hard cleans and front squats. seeing stars, vision blacks in and out, then my body usually shivers uncontrolably after i put the weight down.

while i’ve had a few concussions in my time i always thought it was from having low blood sugar when lifting, i think i get them when i have hard lifts and haven’t eaten in longer than an hour before training.

either way, it sucks.

I was sick the past week(temp up to 38.5 C) so I didnt do well today

the only thing I really liked was a 70kg snatch. Very solid.

Light.

Sn hi pull: 85/3x3

well good thing I eat before training… and if I start getting hungry during training I look for some food ASAP!

well anywho…

Training in Bmore with Dr. Manhattan!!!

Dr. Manhattan was making the fool out of me for a few minutes because I went to the Homecoming Foo’ball game which UMD LOST!!! WTF?

But he look at my warm up snatches and decided to try something new…

Power Snatch:
—He set the weights, using the little plates and told not to think about the #'s on the bar. Just lift.
—Tight Back, fast off the floor, explode up top, lock the arms out fast.

-My last Power Snatch was 67kg.
—He said that was pretty good. He also told me from now on to do Power Snatches once a week (no P. Cleans).
—The goal is to make me lift fast and lock out fast.

Snatch Pulls of Boxes.
-up to 100kg x3x2
—gotta get that SPEED going. Heavy pulls, grab, tight, and STAND UP, shrug.
—100kg was a little much, but it was good.
—btw… my upper back was PUMPED after these  I felt like Arnie for a few minutes.

Front Squat + (split) Jerk
-up to 85kg…
—Hard! I haven’t split Jerked almost 2 months. I had to relearn the split groove, but getting stable was difficult.

Shoulder Press with Split position:
-up to 55kg x4x2
—working on that stability in the split position. My body kept wanting to fall to my left (my front foot).

Windshield Wipers:
-8reps 2sets.

Leg Raises:
-8reps 2sets.

Stretch & GO HOME!!!

24/10/09

Sn: 50/2 57.5/2 67.5/2 70/2 75/2x3 absolutely nailed the last 2 sets. perfect line. yey yey.
ClJk: 60/2 70/2 80/2 85/2 92.5/2x3 crushed all the jerks despite broken callus [cracked right down the middle of my favorite one]
BkSq: 90/5 110/5 130/5 150/5x2 holy shit these 15’s where fuckin beast. Had to really get my shit together.

Had a nice meet today.

Body-weight 78kg

Snatch=70…5kg PR

C&J 93 easy…missed 100 but should get it no problem very very soon…maybe should of taken 98 instead…next time for sure.

I don’t think there’s a meet around here until FEB of next year so it’s time to train hard and make the body-weight move up, when I started Oly lifting 5 months back I was 165lbs at 5’ 11", so I made some progress regarding that lol…I hope to be a full 85 by the next meet.

Conclusion:

Total=PR

Snatch =PR

Clean and jerk=PR

I’m a happy camper.

don’t ever be happy. Being satisfied with where your at is a straight lead in to stagnation. Example : yeah, I cleaned 100 @ the NYC Open, but I didn’t jerk it. Instead of saying, yeah it was a 5kilo PR Clean, I’m like well, I cleaned 100 and failed to jerk the motherfucker.

Never be happy. its bad. IMO

WOOP!

Just started training oly lifting specifically for the first time in 8-10 months had my first snatch session on Thursday and got.

Snatch from blocks (hip)

70 kg x 3

And did some doubles back squatting and ramped up to 190 kg x 2

Here is some video of the session.

First of all everyone lives by their own rules. You are probably trying to be helpful but what is bad to you might be good to me or someone else…nothing is ever really “bad”

I didn’t say I was satisfied, I said I was happy with the outcome of the meet. If I was satisfied then I would stop training because I got a 70kg snatch and a 93 C&J. In reality it’s the opposite, doing better than last time gives me more motivation to keep training hard and getting stronger and it makes me HAPPY that I’m moving in the right direction.
