Training at the Univ gyms.

Last heavy training day before the meet. And a damn good one.

Snatch Pulls:
-4 sets, 3reps up to 80kg
(again)
-3 sets, 3reps up to 80kg
-extra set with 85kg.

Clean Pulls:
-4 sets, 3reps up to 100kg
(again)
-4 sets, 3reps up to 100kg

I gotta say, only a few of them felt right
On the plus side. I found that if I hit and roll the bar a few time and then grap it when I set up my body gets solid and my brain gets in a serious lifting mode.

Front Squats… for a PR DOUBLE!
-started at 135lbs (around 60kgs) and moved up 20lbs each set.
-Hit my old PR double easy. 245lbs (111.36kg)
-then…
-PR DOUBLE with 255lbs (115.91kg)!!!
-tried to hit I then jumped to 125kg (275lbs) to see if I could hit a pr single…missed… :frowning:

Stretch & GO HOME!

Happy about the PR, and happy that my hip flexor is loosening up again and is only hurting a tiny bit.

Felt like cheesecloth full of poo this day so i made it a light one. easy on the shoulders. Mine need way more rolling.

Turns out, if I’m fast enough under the bar, I have the strength to jerk 140kg.

yeah boy. Ima try and match you next friday [at a way bigger BW tho. you’re still 77 ya?]. 80 is so fast now and a high power snatch. my old PB [previous to ankle/shoulder injury] is 90kg so i gotta pass that.

Big meet today in Moorestown NJ.

I was hoping to get a few PRs, nothing major since I had, mostly, recovered from a strained hipflexor.

It was a good meet, Romanaz was there working on his documentary. Sneaky Weasel was kicking ass. dfreeze didn’t do too well because he had to drop 4kg too fast. We carpooled, and he was chewing sour skittles (or some nasty candy) and spitting on our way there to make weight LOL! I didn’t get to see Dr. Manhattans C&J’s but he did go 3/3 on the snatch.

Btw… I don’t think I will be able to get any video. I was rushed through my snatches and forgot to give my camera to my friend.

Snatch:
Warm ups were rushed!

1st Attempt:
70kg. Got it.

2nd Attempt:
75kg. Got it… this was easier than 70kg :slight_smile:

3rd Attempt:
80kg. Missed :frowning:
-had more than enough power, weight felt light, but I had cut the pull and the weight crashed infront of me.

Clean & Jerks: (power Jerks)
–good warm ups

1st Attempt:
87kg. Got it.

2nd Attempt:
92kg. Got the Clean. But drove the Jerk too far back, I stepped back trying to keep it overhead but lost it. :frowning:

3rd Attempt: told the coach to put a “couple of kilos on it”
94kg. GOT IT!
-Easy clean. Same problem with the Jerk but I was able to save it.
–However that jerk put the left side of my lower back in a slight pain… and it still is.
–One of my coaches said “gotta get to core strong”

Well…
…although snatches could have been better, I got a 1kg PR Clean and I was left with more in the tank. :slight_smile: So I know there is more to come.

Now I gotta start doing mo’ abs 'n shit.

Yea I’m still rollin at 77kg. Been snatching 90kg for the longest time now, been jonesing to get a snatch PR. Likewise, I’m pretty much Power Snatching 80kg. The pulls go past my chest.

Had a decent meet in Moorestown yesterday, but dissatisfied.

Snatch: 83 easy, 85 had to hold for a second but was still easy, then forgot to move my feet out in the catch on 87. Stupid mistake; weight felt like a toy. Also disappointed my coach didn’t let me go for 90…might’ve missed it, but then again, might’ve pulled harder too.

C&J: cleaned 105 like a toy, smoked the jerk. 108 same. Took 110 for 3rd attempt, cleaned it like nothing, then forgot that I actually had to be aggressive in the jerk. STUPID, especially since the jerk is probably my best movement when I’m on my game, which I was yesterday. Annoyed that I missed something that should’ve been in the bag.

I’m taking the next week off OL…need a bit of a mental break. I will be beating up the Princeton BJJ club in order to get some GPP for the next cycle going, but will otherwise stay out of the gym, I think.
