Olympia Predictions?

Just for everyone who missed it:

Ronnie Coleman said he WILL compete again next year. He said before the show no matter what happened this year, win or lose, he will be competing next year. The Olmpia is what he does, its not something he does to get to 10 trophies, its who he is.

I am a Ronnie fan (funny 'light-weight-ing bastard) and not a Jay ‘Cro-magnon forehead’ fan at all, but I can see where Jay won. His gut was much smaller. He was more defined all over, especially in the legs. The proof is in the comparison shots on another leading bb website.

The reason coleman lost was that his once mighty back had a major flaw in it this year. His left lat looked like it had been torn and his left tricep is also screwed.

Yeesh, how did I miss that? (maybe I am just full of shit in the first place). Now I see it. OK, I guess Jay deserves it anyway after pushing Ronnie to his limits all these years. It will be interesting to see if Ronnie contests next year. Much as I am a fan, I hope he doesn’t - the Jay vs Ronnie thing was already getting old.

I just want to take time to say that Ronnie was a great and inspirational champion, known for his strength and work ethic as much has his physique. He was the guy bustin ass under the big iron while others were trying to stay light and ‘feel’ the muscle. Not only that, but he was even flexible enough to do a full split even in his heavier years. A guy who got respect from the strength athletes as well as the BB fans. Nothing ‘unfunctional’ about him.[/quote]

BigJoey…I totall agree! So many people bash Ronnie and the new crop of bodybuilders because of their big stomachs. People often don’t realise YOUR STOMACH HAS MUSCLE TOO!

If your back is huge your abs (the antagonist muscle) will be bigger as well.

As for the crop of people claiming Arnold and Zane were better because of their smaller waistlines, their backs were also half the size of Ronnie or Yates.

From the pictures I saw, I thought Ronnie still should have won.

His legs and traps are much bigger than Cutlers. Although Cutler has improved his thickness (chest and back), Ronnie still outdoes him. I would give Cutler the arms (certainly foreamrs) and delts however.

Ronnie still looks freakier, and nothing can compare to his back poses. those glutes are insane!

At the same time, I think it is good for the sport to have a new Mr. Olympia w/out the former retiring. The supposed “reigns” of these champions seems to suggest favoritism or politics.
