bw 97.7 wtf?! Can’t believe I was sooooo light…I’ve been eating a lot, weighed in with morning protein shake, pasta and chicken, sandwhich, water, apple, banana, pear…weigh in was at 2, been up since 8 and eating food. I guess it’s the weather? It’s been hot for England for the whole week and I guess the weight loss was water weight? Many people didn’t have to cut much.

154 was to come 2nd, was 2 to 1 against. Should have taken 126 again, he did 123 151 but was 2.3kg heavier then me. I thought I’d do him on the CJ but I didn’t.

Just gutted I’d put in a solid 42 training sessions this year and I do a frankly rubbish 120 150. I can bust out that after a heavy FS for f0ck sake!!!

Club comp on the 21st July, so 8 weeks and 16 training sessions.

Hi, I’m new here and I figured this was a solid place to start tracking my progress beyond writing my numbers in a book everyday, as well as getting some feedback from some very knowledgeable people. I suppose I should use this as an opportunity to get a bit of an introduction in, I don’t know if those are standard on this forum, but here goes.

I’m 16 years old, I first started lifting weight April 2011, and what followed was 7 months of what Martin Berkhan might call fuckarounditis. I skipped weeks a time, at like shit and saw no progress. Come November of 2011 I suffered my 3rd (and final) concussion playing hockey and because I already had the tools at my disposal, I took up Olympic Lifting as a competitive sport. Since December 1st, 2011 I have been going to the gym 4-5x a week, lifting weights in all sessions and doing very little cardio. I cleaned up my diet and have been Paleo since January, though I’m already pretty loose with what I eat (paleo-wise) and I’m slowing adding in different sources of complex carbs. I train a a CrossFit gym in Toronto that has some very knowledgeable and friendly trainers, without them I would be nowhere. I’ve competed in 1 OL meet so far, and 1 PL meet where I set 3 national records (http://www.rawpowerlifting.com/records/National/Canada/POWERLIFTING.pdf) for my division (82.5kg, 16-17)

Friday, June 1 I am competing in the Cdn. High School National Championships, my last PL meet for a long time, my year end goal is to qualify for the Ontario Jr. Provincial OL Championships. To do so I need to raise my total (OL) by 65lbs before November 3rd.

Current Lifts @ ~80kg BWT

Back Squat: 117.5kg 1RM
Front Squat: 91kg 3RM
Bench Press: 75kg 1RM, Competition bench
Deadlift: 147.5kg 1RM
Push Press: 57kg 1RM
Overhead Press: 43kg 5RM, I don’t do these much
Snatch: 64kg
Clean and Jerk: 84kg

As I said before, that is after 5 months of solid weight training. I look forward to hearing from everyone and being able to track my progress even better than before.

try taking ginseng before the comp to help “perk” up the nervous system. It will get you feeling fast guaranteed.

Tested my snatch after not snatching for a long time, just like hte clean. Got 97.5% and attempted some PRs but no go.

Will do, I’m deloading for my meet Friday at the moment but tomorrow I should be hitting some doubles and triples for ~70%, I’ll record them.

You were unlucky with your 126 snatch mate. Your second pull was absolutely savage, maybe even over pulled it.

So close mate Rest up and go at it again. Loved the 100 attempts. The last one you just ran out of juice, but some of them were CLOSE mate. you are near that 100 mile stone!

You look sharp mate. Try and sit in deep at the light weights as well. Helps with the bigger weights as you will have to sit in deeper. Some lifters can catch lighter weights higher and then just transition to heavier weights and sit in deeper.

Bam! Nice job koing.

wrist was feeling a little better today so I tried front squats.
felt fine up to 80, but 85 hurt a bit. grabbed straps and worked at 88 for triples

wrist shouldn’t be more than a few days from some real training again, and i’m itching to get at it.

Koing the squat looked easy, 200 up soon

Wrist injuries are a BAST. You can’t do much. Can you back squat or do pulls?

I can do both, and that’s what I’ve been doing. Today was clean pulls for triples, worked at between 100-125 depending on how the last set felt.
I’ve also been doing pull ups and gluteham raises.

I am attending an oly course june 9/10, so I absolutely HAVE to be healed by then.

@koing: Thanks for the encouragement, I know I can hit 100 when I go for it again.

I tested my squat on Wednesday, but I forgot to post it here:
