i think i’ve finally learned how to keep my back tight and get the bar to stay close. unfortunately doing so is still patchy with the broomstick / bar and i don’t seem strong enough to do it with 30kg at all. dammit.
working the crap out of my lats at the moment…
Swings and round abouts. Some days stuff feels heavy and others not so and you can just tear it up…

it’s true. my “favorite” lift is the one i’m doing good on at the moment haha. when one lift gets ready to PR soon, the other one just takes a vacation.

Bro did it but he can FS 140 but weighed in at 66.7kg or so. He’s around 68.8 or so now though. Got his 7th comp of the year this Saturday.
I’ll give him £1k if he can CJ 146 by the end of 2012 in comp. I reckon he can do 120 before the year is over. So thats 26kg in a year to hit 146.

I knew when I did the bar I was going to squat strong. Everyone was amused but i knew I was going to squat big today. You get that feeling of just absolute solidness and power even with an empty bar. Weights flew up, squat looks a lot stronger then the 163 from last Wednesday! It’s not huge but it’s 2kg more then last week and 3kg more then my previous best. Every kilo counts on my way to hammering past 182 for a double and onwards to 200.

146x close, rolled a tiny bit forwards on the drive, you can see my weight transfer from heels to mid thigh as I’m driving up after the dip. I punch the bar backwards too much as well = bar will drop behind. For me it’s better to miss behind then to gimp out in front
146 +1kg PB! booyah! Nailed it, got it up and kept it up. Wasn’t anywhere nears as pretty as last weeks 145 but I held on to it. I was doing doubles up to 120 last week so I think I’ll keep on doing that next time I do rack Jerks.

nice lifting koing. i reckon i’d be hitting squat PR’s for sure if I felt better about yelling like that. sometimes i think 'fuck ‘em’ and yell anyway, but i do think it is a bit disruptive for more regular gymgoers… and one dude has told me to shut up already.
next time look at them condescendingly and keep training
moving to more of a powerlifting gym soon, so hopefully will find a bunch of people to train with who don’t mind yelling. not sure why yelling makes me stronger… seems to work like how squeezing the bar makes you stronger. one of those expend more effort and find you have more energy things lolz.
koing… how much can you lift without yelling??
i mean… if they changed the weightlifting rules so that you weren’t allowed to yell because they thought the yelling was about intimidating other competitors or messing with top secret information they get from listening to the wind on the barbell or something like that… would that mess you up??

sometimes not yelling can make you pass out.
I think one reason is it keeps your abs tight =stronger core = bar feels lighter = you lift more
and well… I only worry cause I need to stick to a weight class. Besides that I don’t care too much. Although I would prefer not to be 120kgs again unless I’m also snatching 150+ :))

Thanks, lifting is on the up over the past 4-5 weeks, Jerks especially in the past 2 weeks.
Don’t you train at an Oly club?
Not sure how much I lift if I didn’t shout. I don’t train at a ‘life style’ gym so I don’t care. Saying that I’ve done 127.5/147.5 at a Uni gym with 6 platforms. I didn’t shout as loud but managed that still. Just feels natural to shout at an Oly place.

Nice going on the 100! Sometimes even if you wake up smashed up you can just hit big weights! I always find no matter how smashed you are as soon as you get down and start to warm up and do some bar work/ front squats the body reacts and you get going. The aches are less and you just start to come alive.
Felt batterd when I woke up yesterday. 4hrs sleep, slept 20mins on the train in a really deep sleep, knees a bit sore as I woke up, started to wake up as I cycled 10mins home and as I got to the gym after warming up things were feeling good.
Sometimes you go in feeling immense and you lift crap LOL. That really is a cold slep in the face man.

Normally I don’t mind training feeling wrecked, but my back was BAD yesterday. So Close to going into spasm, lucky it was alright today though heavy cleans or Fs would have been out of the question. Plenty of heat and Naproxen and I’ll be on it tomo! When you feel imense and lift crap is just the worst, that sh1t makes me want to quit lifting. It’s on till the end of the year, got the northern open and the SW open within a week of each other. If I dont make 240 in one of those I’ll be at the english as a spectator with a grumpy face!
today all felt good, felt strong and all but only managed to snatch 90 like 3 times and missed it like 5 or something and tried 95 once or twice.
Up until 80 it felt so fucking good. I don’t get it. oh well.
C&j again felt great until I got up to heavy weights. the cleans made me dizzy at 105. At least I made both of them.
I learnt that the comp is oct 9 so I got a couple weeks so I decided to start squatting since my knees are starting to adapt to snatch and c&j every session.
